Sara Gardner Photography

We originally booked Sara to shoot our November wedding. When we made the decision to cancel our large celebration due to covid, my husband and I knew we still wanted to get formal wedding portraits. Sara agreed to have a socially distanced photo shoot at Allerton, and she made it the most fun day we had in a while! Sara did such an amazing job and the photos are my favorite reminder that not all of 2020 was bad. I can't say enough great things about her!

Sara was very flexible which was important when planning a last-minute small elopement during Covid-19. She was willing to scout locations at the venue beforehand and video chat with my husband and me to plan out the day. I love a lot of the photos that we got of the day and there are some gorgeous shots of me and my husband. However, I was very disappointed in the amount of family photos. Due to Covid-19 restrictions my husband's family was not able to travel. We only had 10 guests total (including bride and groom), which only included my family. Upon receiving the photos back, I realized that there was not one of my immediate family (parents, sister, husband and me). Thinking this must have been an oversight, we emailed Sara and received exactly one back. I was very surprised that there was only one to choose from with it being a small wedding. There was also only one photo of my maid of honor and me that showed our dresses, and I was not looking at the camera in the photo. Sara was able to provide one where I was looking upon request but I'm not sure why that one was not included in the first place. There was also not a photo of my parents together, despite taking photos of other couples at the wedding. Sara had to photoshop one of them together, and it appears that other family photos may be photoshopped as well. Another large disappointment was that my husband and I were not situated in the center of the photos as is customary for the bride and groom. Instead, my sister (or grandparents) are, and it looks like they are the focal point in the wedding photos. When I pointed this out to Sara, she expressed that most people do not want posed photos with their family. I had never told her that I did not want family portraits, so I am not sure why it matters what other people usually want. We also had a large number of photos only provided in black and white, and had to ask multiple times to get them in color. If using Sara Gardner photography, I would recommend using a very specific shot list even if it is a small wedding to ensure that you get the photos you want.

Where do I begin?? Sara is AMAZING! We picked Sara for her amazing photography and her down to earth personality. She is so easy to work with. We planned our wedding in 5 months which meant we had little to no time to spare. Sara was very responsive to all of our questions and flexible when we needed to meet in person. I have gotten nothing but compliments on her work. If you are looking for awesome photography and a painless process, Sara is your gal!!

Sara took our engagement photos, and we couldn't be more thrilled! She is so wonderful to work with, easygoing, and incredibly skilled at her art. She is really good at helping you find poses that look and feel natural, and our pictures came out gorgeous! She was very familiar with where we had our photos taken (Allerton Park), and she had spots ready to suggest for photos. She is very responsive, and she returned our pictures far more quickly than I could have thought possible. Her pricing is super reasonable, especially considering the high quality work she does! Sara is a talented, easy-going, hilarious photographer that will help make your wedding day memorable! She captures amazing, intimate moments that will always remind you of every emotion you felt during your special day. She came to our home early to snap a few photos before our front porch wedding ceremony and ended up sewing me into my wedding dress because the zipper broke! She made me laugh and feel at ease about the whole situation and made my wedding day even more memorable than I ever thought it could be!

We used Sara for both our engagement photo shoot and for the whole day of our wedding, and we were SO impressed by her work. My husband and I both don’t usually enjoy getting pictures taken of us, but pictures with Sara were a lot of fun! She made the sessions so easy going so that the photos looked candid and natural. She also does such a good job of capturing pictures of every aspect of the big day while not getting in the way of the events as they take place. She got us our pictures back in the time frame laid out in the contract, even in the peak of wedding season, and they were incredible! Her work was well worth every penny. I found Sara via The Knot listings of photographers for my engagement shoot. Out of everyone I contacted, Sara was not only the most flexible but also the most modestly priced. Her bubbly personality and eye for photography was truly unique and helped my fiancé and I feel comfortable in front of the camera! Neither of us had taken professional photos before and Sara made our first experience so easy and fun. I was ten minutes late due to a wardrobe malfunction and she replied "no problem, gives me more time to find good shots here!" She stayed 15 extra minutes at the end to make up for my mistake. The photos we received looked as if we paid hundreds of dollars more; I received so many compliments on how the photos not only reflected our beauty, but also our feelings for each other. If you are looking for someone who can catch unique angles that include a mix of poses and candid shots that really reflect your feelings for each other (and you don't want to pay $600+), this is your girl! Love love love!

We just received our wedding photos today and they were totally worth the wait. I have gone through all 471 photos at least 3 times and gush again and again each time. Sara does such a wonderful job capturing the moment. Some of my favorite pictures are the candid ones that truly show all the love and happiness that happened on our day!

Sara was an absolute joy to work with! We used her for both wedding and engagement photos. What I loved most about her photography was the way she was able to capture candid photos that don't look posed or forced. Her calm, fun and friendly personality made it easy for my groom and I to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Sara was EXTREMELY organized and flexible. She even went to our wedding location ahead of time to scout out any potential problems and great photo spots. I really felt like she took the time to get a feel for my vision and she made it happen! I will most definitely be using her again in the future to capture more candid photos of me and my family!
