I have been officiating Jewish, interfaith, spiritual, civil and intercultural ceremonies and lifecycle events for the past 12 years. All my ceremonies are personalized, inclusive and welcoming. I cannot recommend Rabbi Sara enough. She was so kind, understanding, and helpful throughout the process leading up to our wedding, and absolutely NAILED the ceremony. Our guests cried, laughed, and gave endless compliments about her officiating throughout the wedding and the days after. We actually have been asked multiple times for her contact information for our friends who are engaged. Rabbi Sara was an amazing officiant! We had an interfaith wedding and at the start of wedding planning we weren’t sure what we wanted our Jewish ceremony to look like and Rabbi Sara took the time to explain all of the steps she typically includes, why they are meaningful, and places to make the ceremony our own. Rabbi Sara was incredibly organized, communicative and thoughtful with ceremony preparations and put a lot of time and effort into meeting with us and working on our ceremony, including incorporating any feedback from us and our families. On our wedding day many of our friends and family members made a point to say how amazing our rabbi was and how meaningful they found the ceremony! Definitely recommend working with Rabbi Sara!

My now-husband and I were so lucky to have found Rabbi Sara! She came recommended by a friend, and we are so glad we reached out to her. From the initial emails to our wedding day, Rabbi Sara has been nothing but kind, warm, and personable. On our initial Zoom meeting, she really took her time to get to know my husband and me and to explain her process. Since both of our families include people who are not Jewish, it was important to us that all of the traditions were explained and that everyone felt included in our day. Rabbi Sara was able to give us a meaningful Jewish wedding ceremony while also making sure that everyone in attendance understood the tradition and meaning behind it all. Rabbi Sara truly customized our ceremony, working closely with us to make sure everything resonated with who we were as a couple. Our Ketubah signing ceremony and the wedding ceremony are special memories that we will cherish always, thanks to Rabbi Sara! After the ceremony, several of our guests let us know how great she was. Where do I even begin? Rabbi Sara is the most amazing human being. From the very first zoom call, she made me and my husband feel so welcomed and loved. Being an interfaith/interracial couple, we wanted to make sure that the Rabbi we were choosing checked all of our boxes and Rabbi Sara did just that. She walked us through the entire process and made us super comfortable from that first interaction all the way to our wedding day. We very highly recommend Rabbi Sara Shonfeld as your wedding officiant! My partner and I had a Jewish wedding in March 2024 and Rabbi Shonfeld made the ceremony the most memorable part. Although we’re not very religious, we wanted to embrace all of the different aspects of a Jewish wedding but we also did not want our ceremony to be overly long. We met with Rabbi Shonfeld over a year before our wedding date and she really took the time to get to know us and offered a wide variety of options for the ceremony, essentially à la carte. Rabbi Shonfeld provided us with very thorough explanations of the different religious aspects or traditions we could have in our ceremony if we wanted, whether we wanted to make it more reform, conservative or orthodox. Less than four months before the wedding my mom passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. Rabbi Shonfeld spent a tremendous amount of time with us to adjust the ceremony to make sure we honored my mom in the best way. She also suggested numerous ways we could do so, and gave examples of things she has done in the past to honor the memory of loved ones during a wedding ceremony. Additionally Rabbi Shonfeld helped us make it so the ceremony honored my mom but also make sure it didn’t feel like a memorial service. Rabbi Shonfeld was very professional and accessible throughout the entire process when working on delivering our perfect ceremony, and providing exactly what we needed and wanted. She took the time to thoroughly explain everything to us so we understood all of our options and the meanings behind the various wedding traditions. My partner and I both agree that we believe the ceremony was our favorite part. Rabbi Shonfeld made it so personal, and the perfect combination of serious and some fun, and she never overstepped in any way or interjected too much. We really cannot say enough great things about Rabbi Shonfeld. She was amazing. Everyone told us how beautiful they thought the ceremony was; Rabbi Shonfeld gave us a ceremony beyond our dreams. Rabbi Sara and Rev. Deb officiated our wedding 1/27/24. I am Jewish and my husband is Christian and Without a doubt the best part of our wedding was our interfaith Ceremony! They truly made it so special and everyone was talking about how incredible the ceremony was and that they’ve never seen anything so personal and beautiful. There was no dry eye in the house! I don’t even know where to begin. Rabbi Shonfeld was truly amazing from start to finish. We first met her through zoom and she introduced herself and her style of ceremony and we knew she was the officiant for us. She friended both my husband and myself on Facebook to help her get to know us. As time got closer, she had us share our similarities and differences, and our favorite qualities about each other. She pieced it all together and sent us a beautiful draft of the ceremony that took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. As for the wedding day, she reviewed everything with us. The ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. People laughed, people cried. She explained everything in English before saying it in Hebrew. She was lively and you could see her passion behind officiating. Throughout the rest of the wedding, everyone came over to us saying how wonderful the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed it. I had one more religious guest come over to me and tell me that the ceremony was the most beautiful ceremony she had witnessed. You are truly in amazing hands with Rabbi Shonfeld!

We worked with Rev. Deb and Rabbi Sara for our interdenominational wedding in September 2023 and I genuinely cannot recommend them more. Rabbi Sara and Rev Deb Viola were both equally amazing ! My husband and I had an interfaith ceremony as my husband is Catholic and I am Jewish. Rabbi Sara married my husband and I in February of this past year. We had so many people come up to us in our cocktail hour to compliment about just how beautiful and meaningful the ceremony was and even tell us that they had never witnessed a ceremony like ours. Rabbi Sara has become more like family over the years. We were blessed to have her co-officiate our interfaith wedding ceremony. Our guests still rave about the warmth and humor she brought to our nuptials. She took the time to get to know us and our family dynamics before eloquently orchestrating a traditional celebration of both faiths. We stayed in touch on social media through the years and when our daughter was born, there was no question who I would ask to help us bless her with a traditional baby naming. We spoke on countless occasions and she put my mind at ease as rain threatened our outdoor Covid-friendly ceremony. Rabbi Shonfeld officiated at my daughter's service two days ago .... we could not be happier with how the service was conducted and the positive energy that was felt throughout the room. Theirs is an inter-faith marriage although at our request, such things as a Jewish Ketubah signing and breaking of the glass were included. Most importantly, Rabbi Shonfeld made the service feel very personal. She mentioned that names of grandparents that we were missing and described my daughter/son-in-law first meeting. Everyone at our 70-person wedding complimented us on the service, with several saying it was the nicest service they had ever been to. I attirbute all of it to Rabbi Shonfeld who gives off such a positive, warm energy. We could not be happier with how the service was conducted. It set a wonderful vibe for the rest of the wedding.

Rabbi Sara truly is such an amazing person! From the second we reached out to her, she was SO approachable and professional. I am Jewish (not raised religious), and my husband is catholic. From the beginning, she was willing to work with my husband’s family priest (out of town) and made the entire outline for our ceremony including both religious aspects equally. My husband is a Filipino Catholic and we found ways to incorporate every tradition into our ceremony. The way she delivered her portion, with a little bit of light humor, was so incredible. Rabbi Sara was wonderful throughout the entire process of our wedding planning. She made us feel comfortable as an interfaith couple and was so patient and flexible when we had to postpone our wedding 3 times due to covid. The ceremony was perfect and our guests loved her!!

My husband and I are so happy with Rabbi Shonfeld's wedding services. Our search for a wedding officiant was long and tedious, but the moment we spoke to Rabbi Shonfeld we knew she would be perfect. She instantly made us feel at ease. She was open to our ideas and made sure our ceremony was personalized and reflected who we are as a couple. She was caring and understanding, and really listened. She made the wedding ceremony process super easy and was very responsive with our questions. Rabbi Sara Shonfeld gave us a beautiful, meaningful Jewish ceremony that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. We received tons of compliments from friends and family about Rabbi Shonfeld and the way she conducted our ceremony.

We cannot recommend Rabbi Sara enough. After our initial meeting, my husband (Catholic) and I (Jewish) immediately knew we wanted her to officiate our wedding. She is funny, thoughtful, and has an unmistakable presence. We enjoyed working with her to craft a ceremony that represented both of our traditions and she delivered! Guests from both sides came up to us after the ceremony to rave about Rabbi Sara; one friend even asked for her information. The ceremony is my favorite memory from the day and I cannot thank Rabbi Sara enough.

Rabbi Sara was incredible to work with! She was so quick to answer all of our questions and assist with the Ketubah. She listened to everything we wanted and went above and beyond! Our guests were raving about how great she made the ceremony!

Rabbi Sara and Pastor Anderson officiated our interfaith ceremony on December 7th. I am Catholic and my husband is Jewish and it was very important for both of our faiths to be represented in our ceremony. Rabbi Sara was very easy to communicate with and worked with us to create a beautiful ceremony. We received so many compliments from our guests because a lot of them have never witnessed an interfaith ceremony before but they all said it was so balanced and full of love. We are really happy that Rabbi Sara and Pastor Anderson were our officiants because we actually had another rabbi/priest set to do our ceremony but I wasn't super comfortable with them. It turned out that we had to cancel for scheduling reasons which led us to Rabbi Sara rather close to our wedding date but I think it happened for a reason and we are so happy it did!

My husband is Sufi Muslim and I'm Jewish. Rabbi Sara performed a beautiful Jewish service for us. She took the time to learn about us, and how our lives came together, and was able to elegantly incorporate the essence of our relationship into the service. Rabbi Sara was amazing. Our guests couldn't stop talking about her. She exudes love and joy, and we could not have chosen a better officiant. She made our guests feel comfortable, even though many of them had never been to a Jewish wedding ceremony. We were honored that she allowed us to use her beautiful tallit from Israel. Rabbi Sara is one of those special people that you don't meet very often, but when you do, you feel truly blessed. We will never forget her, and the beautiful ceremony she created for us.

When it came time to looking for officiants for our wedding, which was October 5th 2019, my husband and I said that this was the most important part of wedding planning for us. I am Jewish and my husband is Lutheran. We wanted to involve both religions and also included Reverend Deb (please see her page for review, she was also spectacular). Rabbi Sara was beyond personable, warm, friendly, professional, I could go on! Every single person at our wedding came up to us after to tell us that it was the most funny, warm-hearted, meaningful ceremony they had ever been to! Rabbi Sara and Rev Deb wrote the most beautiful ceremony that truly reflected the love that we share for each other and for our families and friends. It was also important for us to almost educate our guests as some were not Jewish and some were not Christian, so we were able to make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. Rabbi Sara and Rev Deb involved traditions from both religions so seamlessly. I would recommend them to anyone!! The whole planning process with Rabbi Sara was easy and, again, she was so professional and organized. Would recommend her to anyone who wants a perfect ceremony, because we will cherish ours for the rest of our lives!!

Rabbi Sara is the absolute BEST!!! The ceremony was extremely important to me and she made it perfect! From the moment we met her, Rabbi Sara was so kind, warm, and friendly. She was so genuinely sweet and caring. We wanted to have her officiate our wedding instantly! Throughout wedding planning, Rabbi Sara was very quick to answer back emails. She worked through our ceremony draft perfectly until we had a beautiful and special to us final draft. The day of the wedding, our Ketubah and Marriage License signing ceremony was so intimate and wonderful. And the ceremony was absolutely incredible!!! I could not recommend her enough! Best decision for an officiant would be to have Rabbi Sara!!!!

Rabbi Shonfeld officiated at our wedding at the St. Regis - NY on 4/20/2019 and was simply awesome. Her sharp wit and caring personality made for a beautiful ceremony. It was heartfelt and beautiful and it couldn’t have been better.

Rabbi Sara was amazing to work with -- she was so responsive, caring, and just easy to talk to. Rabbi Sara did an interfaith ceremony along with our interfaith minister (Reverend Louis Olivieri, who was also awesome) on 12/15/18 and it turned out even better than I could have imagined. We received so many compliments on our ceremony. Rabbi Sara was animated, interesting, and heartfelt. The guests adored her and our ceremony. Very highly recommend!

Rabbi Sara & Rev Deb were wonderful and made it possible for Adam and I to have an amazing and unforgettable wedding. Everything was beautiful, the guests were happy and we were beyond pleased. Rabbi Sara Did amazing job co- officiating our wedding with Rev. Sarah Guttman. We received many compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was and how it felt like it didn’t “drag on.” She really captured what we were going for. She even took pictures of us on the sly that we didn’t know about right before our ceremony which was a really sweet touch. She has a beautiful voice and beautiful presence. Rabbi Sara officiated our son's wedding at the Mansion at Oyster Bay with the Hindu Priest last Friday. They both brought so much joy and harmony to this sacred day. She was truly wonderful from the very beginning, coordinating, listening and then making it all happen in such a harmonious flow. She is also an absolute pleasure to be with, so much positive, happy energy. It couldn't have been more beautiful. We are so grateful!

Rabbi Sara thank you so much for your beautiful ceremony! My husband and I had a difficult time figuring out what type of officiant we were going to use for our wedding, I am Greek Orthodox and he is Jewish. I am so happy we went with Rabbi Sara, from our initial meeting I had such a good feeling about her. She was warm, funny, and had a great personality. I am the first person in my family to have a non-Greek ceremony, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go over with my family but they loved it! They all said it was one of the most emotional and beautiful ceremonies they have ever attended! They complimented Rabbi Sara to no end, saying how she was such a beautiful speaker and they loved how her personality came through in the ceremony. She sent us the ceremony beforehand and we were allowed to edit and add in/take away anything that we wanted in the ceremony! It made me feel much more comfortable and confident going into the ceremony. The ketubah signing ceremony was a great part of our day as well. I have nothing but great things to say about Rabbi Sara, thank you for taking the time to be a part of our day and for marrying my husband and I! The ceremony was so emotional and brought us so much happiness. It was a beautiful way to start our life together.

Sara is an awesome Rabbi! She recently performed the ceremony at our wedding and we received tons of compliments afterwards. Everyone felt like she really knew us and she was able to make the ceremony entertaining for all. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a Rabbi!
