or photos, and we're generally pretty awkward at posing. Sarah made us feel comfortable from the very first phone call, and when we met her for our engagement shoot in Portland, she put us right at ease, made us laugh, and helped us feel as little awkwardness as possible!
On our wedding day, she was somehow everywhere and nowhere all at once - I never heard the click of her camera, but she captured every amazing moment we would have wanted, and she was at the ready anytime a group wanted a photo. We received a ton of compliments on Sarah's fun and friendly demeanor from our wedding guests as well.
We both feel so lucky to have worked with Sarah, and she'll be our first call for any future family photos!!

our wedding day. We found Sarah and fate was on our side as our wedding was her last summer weekend available. After chatting with her, I felt instantly at ease after my bridal breakdown and couldn’t wait to meet her in person. She was communicative leading up to wedding day and let me know what to expect. Wedding day arrived and Sarah showed up immediately doing her thing, taking candid shots of us getting ready and capturing fun and beautiful images of my bridal party and parents. She brought me down to my first look with my husband and I was able to get to know her a little better. She is sooo sweet, fun, laid back but always on her A game. We trusted her throughout the process of family photos and post ceremony portraits and we ended up with absolutely stunning photos of the entire day. She is insanely talented but more importantly, she has such an incredible manner that relaxed us in order to get some stunning and fun shots. reat to get to meet her and get a bit more comfortable with her (this after we forgot the time and she arrived with us completely unready, which she took in stride even telling my husband what color shirt to wear!).
THEN, the day of our wedding was when the edges of Hurricane Henri were hitting Maine. Sarah Jane put on a raincoat and got pics of us, the venue, our families, everyone dancing and they couldn't bring us more joy. You can't even tell that most of the portraits were taken as it was beginning to pour outside! I keep looking at the images - from both the engagement shoot and the wedding - and being so grateful that everyone was so joyful and that we will forever have those images to remember that.

She has a great ability to melt into the crowd and capture all of the moments. When something was happening, Sarah was there. She is exactly who you want in a photographer on the big day.

She asked many thorough questions to get to know our families ahead of time, so our wedding day photos were truly a breeze. We added a second shooter in the last month or so of planning, and she effortlessly found someone to work with her to capture our ceremony.
