When you're researching vendors, it is objectively clear that Sarah takes quality, professional photos. Anybody could take a nice posed group shot. It's the thoughtful, tender, "blink and you'll miss it" moments that Sarah captures is what sets her apart. You can see that her photos are beautiful. Just wait until you see yourself in them. I have never felt more special in my entire life. I will cherish these photos forever. Sarah was helpful during the planning stage and setting up a timeline. She truly is an expert and helped with the logistics. On the day of the wedding I felt so at ease and knew I was in good hands. Sarah completely captured the joy we felt on our wedding day. There is nothing like seeing it radiate in our photos.

Sarah is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!!! I cannot recommend her enough!!! Our photos turned out better than we could've imagined - she is so talented. She is extremely professional and was so easy to work with. She really helped us stay on schedule and was efficient without sacrificing quality of photos. I can't imagine having anyone else share and shoot our wedding day with us other than Sarah and her spouse Joyce. We were beyond honored that they were able to spend several days with us during our elopement in New Orleans. My partner and I had a photoshoot with Sarah and it turned out absolutely wonderful! It's not just that she's an incredible photographer, but she's also amazing at making the whole experience fun rather than awkward. Normally I'm not a huge fan of having my picture taken but she made us both feel incredibly at ease. The photos are gorgeous, and we could not be happier with them! I honestly could not recommend her enough!!!

We have had the pleasure of working with Sarah twice. Sarah helped with a surprise engagement shoot to coordinate the proposal and was also available for our desired wedding day. Sarah is thoughtful, inclusive, quick, and well-organized. Sarah sets the bar high for professionalism in the wedding industry and was also a great resource in referring other wedding vendors that were inclusive of same-sex couples. Previews were turned around in under 24 hours for the wedding and less than 2 hours for the engagement. The editorial-style photography was a perfect fit for us. I would hire Sarah over and over again.

Quick review: For a couple that is very unphotogenic and was not looking forward to being in front of the camera, I was expecting to really like only a handful of our engagement pictures... I printed over 250 pictures. Our wedding, I'm getting over 400 printed- I feel like that speaks for itself. That's how good Sarah is! Choosing Sarah is a decision I promise you will not regret. Long review: reading previous reviews of Sarah before we chose a photographer, I was like 'wow these people are over the top.' I was wrong, all these excited reviewers are just absolutely MIND BLOWN by her talent and ability to make you feel comfortable in front of a camera. Sarah guides you but she also works to understand your personalities and uses that info to steer you and your partner into poses she knows will showcase your love and unique relationship. I remember before our wedding I was so excited to see her again because she feels like an old friend, which is absurd because I had only met her ONCE! but again, that's just how good she is; you feel connected to her because she truly captures the unique beautiful and weird love you share with your partner. Your pictures won't look like cookie-cutter pictures (unless you want that) because her style of photography is to showcase your personalities and vibes. We also did the highlight video and raw footage of our wedding, and Joyce is so awesome, emailing us to ask us questions about us and watching Joyce and Sarah work together was so fun. Their work is cohesive and they vibe off each other so well.!

Sarah is an incredibly talented photographer! From capturing our proposal, engagement pictures, and our wedding, Sarah exceeded our expectations every time! She made us feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera which is so important! She captures the big moments, the little moments, and everything in between perfectly. When weather threatened to throw a wrench in our outdoor ceremony, Sarah was flexible and jumped on board with the new plan right away! Even with a completely different timeline than we discussed, she was able to capture all of photographs we wanted. To top it all off, Sarah is inclusive of ALL people. Sarah was a fantastic photographer for our family wedding. She took timely and well-managed family photos (in the cold outside, so everyone was glad for her speedy-ness!) and lots of candid shots. She found great light and made use of great natural backgrounds in the house where we hosted the wedding. In the end, we received a HUGE catalog of gorgeous photos. On top of all of that, as a queer couple, we both felt so comfortable being ourselves and sharing our love with Sarah. Would highly recommend this professional, inclusive, creative photographer!

Sarah is INCREDIBLE. She helped execute and photographed our friend's surprise engagement, working with the fiance-to-be and friends to set up the perfect venue, framing, and photo shoot afterwards. In addition to having amazing input on venue and logistics, she took gorgeous photos of the entire group. We literally planned our wedding around Sarah’s availability - that’s how good she is!! Sarah is magic behind the lens. She was so incredibly easy to work with, felt like a long time friend, and so perfectly captured the amazing candid moments and breathtaking portraits. My partner usually hates being in front of a camera, but he commented how easy and comfortable she made it. The photos are absolutely stunning. We had an intimate home wedding with just our closest family members, and she captured the intimacy, the feeling of home, and the love between all of us so well. One unexpected skill she brought was her insight while we were planning the day. There were a couple moments where we asked her thoughts on where/how to do things, and her guidance was so helpful and exactly in line with how we imagined our day. She understands that weddings should be a celebration of you and your partner and she quickly picked up on who we were and encouraged it in her advice and captured it so well in the photos. In addition to all of the above, it was a nonnegotiable for us to support someone committed to serving all types of people, and someone who actually lives out their values. After following her work for years, I knew Sarah not only serves people across many spectrums (gender/sexuality, race, religious belief, etc.), but she has actually developed resources for other wedding vendors on how to better serve LGBTQ+ couples, and actively discusses her commitment to anti-racism and building a more equitable world. On a personal level, we definitely did not want a traditional wedding with accentuation of gender roles, and we felt completely comfortable being ourselves and making the ceremony our own with Sarah. We could not be happier with our decision to work with Sarah. She was professional, warm, and organized. She is incredible at capturing love and joy, as her work so clearly shows. And we got our pictures back so quickly during one of the busiest years of weddings! Could not recommend her more highly!

Having Sarah as our wedding/elopement photographer was hands down the best decision we made for our day. After viewing her work and the initial contact with her our excitement was high because we knew we'd found someone special, and somehow she exceeded that initial excitement a million times over. She helped us choose our venue and gave us a run down of all these spectacular places for photos with spaces that were perfect for us. She created a time line that worked beautifully from ceremony start to final pictures; we didn't feel rushed or stressed because Sarah was there making sure everything went off without a hitch. When she arrived at our cabin she went to work like an expert detective discovering all these gorgeous spots for pictures (even rearranging furniture to create perfect areas!). Her eye for what was going to photograph the very best never failed. Her intuitiveness is so impressive, she knew when we needed her wonderful infectious energy and other times she was capturing moments like a thief in the night you never knew was there. So many times looking through our photos we wondered when did she get this shot, where was she even standing to get that angle? She was everywhere at once in the best way. She truly amplified the joy of the day. When we were arriving to a secondary location for sunset pictures she crested the hill just before us and burst out in excitement at how beautiful it was. Having someone who is that overjoyed and invested in your images was so amazing. You can tell she truly loves what she does and her skill is out of this world. Every contact with her from planning to image processing was prompt and thorough. Our previews and then our gallery arrived ahead of schedule. And oh my goodness the pictures! The gallery she presented us captured every single moment of the day in stunning detail. Her work behind the camera and her phenomenal editing produced some of the most magical pictures I have ever seen. All of the incredible emotions of the day I can see reflected in Sarah's work. And that sunset I mentioned, well you'd have to see these images to believe it, they're that good. I still can't believe looking through the gallery that these are OUR wedding photos! If you choose Sarah you're going to get a photographer who goes above and beyond, makes your day run smooth, is a joy to be around, and then at the end of it get the most beautiful pictures you've ever had taken! She is an immense talent and an awesome person that we would trust again and again to deliver! She's truly unmatched and her photographs will be something you'll treasure for a lifetime.

Ridiculously amazing . From our engagement session to our wedding day, Sara exceeded every single expectation we had and then some. We chose her because we loved her journalistic style, but also because she photographed interracial couples exceptionally well. Our engagement session took place right after I'd given birth and we had SO much fun and felt extremely comfortable with our decision. The only thing we were concerned about prior to booking was having access to a second shooter. I can tell you right now if that's something you're worried about, don't be. Sara is phenomenal and we have no idea how she was able to capture so much, and so seamlessly. Thank you thank you thank you for enriching this experience for us. Sarah photographed my church ceremony / rehearsal dinner on 9/3/21 and our outdoor ceremony / reception on 9/4/21. (I know, it was a lot, and she was there for it all!) She did an amazing job. I spent tonight trying to decide which photos to frame and it's the most difficult decision because I want to frame all of them! Not only were our photos absolutely beautiful, Sarah was integral for keeping everything moving smoothly as soon as she stepped on the scene. I can't even describe how quick she was at getting all of the photos. At one point, we were running 20 minutes behind schedule and Sarah got us right back on schedule by flying through all of the family photos that all turned out beautifully. Sarah was the one who made sure our first dance was in the most beautiful spot of the room instead of the dance floor, keeping in mind what was practical and best for the photos and video (just a few steps away from our beautiful sweetheart table!) I am so glad we opted to hire her for both days. She did an amazing job at capturing our magical weekend and I would recommend her to everyone. She even was ninja quick at sending us all of our photos! I spent a whole day of my honeymoon diving into them, reliving our weekend. If you're thinking about booking Sarah, DO IT ASAP! I am suuuuuper picky and bougie and Sarah passes the vibe check in every single way. She made my photos look sooo sexy and moody and romantic and warm all at the same time. She ran through the rain with us during our elopement to get the perfect shots, even though we were SOAKED to the bone (she had waterproof shoes and the right lens cover just in case we wanted to do exactly that) She was warm and friendly and loving - she knew EXACTLY how to get every perfect shot while still remaining both a part of the ceremony AND sneaky/invisible when she needed to be. She was accepting of every flaw and road bump throughout the day - and my wedding day simply would not have been the same without her. Her eye for the perfect photo and the perfect lighting is straight up otherworldly. You need Sarah in your life, so stop scrolling through reviews and just go for it. Trust me!

Sarah is AMAZING!!! My spouse and I were initially drawn to Sarah’s ability to capture candid & genuine moments of joy and love, and we are so happy she was able to capture such moments for us in our engagement and wedding day photos! Sarah is incredibly talented and thoughtful. She went above and beyond to identify the perfect scenery for our photos, scouting out several areas at the Parklands in Louisville and a park near our wedding venue so we could have nature photos but wouldn’t miss too much of the wedding celebration. Sarah was so incredibly professional and upbeat (even at a sunrise engagement shoot). She did a great job helping myself and my now husband feel comfortable in front of the camera. What an incredible experience. We just received our pictures (shoot was on 8/9, today is 8/17) and could not be happier. Sarah was a tremendous professional from start to finish. She responded promptly to emails and was forthcoming about what COVID precautions she’s taking, so no need for uncertainty or concerns. She is very active on social media, which allows you to get a strong sense of the consistency across her work. Your photos will feel familiar to her style, while still being completely unique to you. If you like what you saw in others’ pictures, you’ll love how it looks when it’s you. Prior to our session she provided some really good thoughts related to how to maximize our shoot, along with making herself available for any additional questions. She asked questions about us and our relationship, which helped us to feel familiar with each other when finally meeting that morning. During the shoot she was diligent to get a variety of shots without anything feeling forced, rigid, or out of character for us. She was fun and engaged, which helped the session feel relaxed so our pictures were authentic. Sarah was able to use her experience to direct us, while not forcing stock engagement poses. The result is a gallery of beautiful engagement photos truly capturing our relationship as partners that we can’t wait to share with others! A few side notes: 1) We are planning our wedding in a different city which is the only reason we aren’t hiring her for those as well (though we are strongly nsidering paying for her travel after seeing how these turned out). 2) Sarah is commitment to inclusivity and ensuring gorgeous photos for all couples, regardless of how they identify, which was very important to us.

The best decision we made during the wedding planning process was booking Sarah to be our photographer! I cannot even begin to tell you how much we LOVE our wedding photos. We also had her photograph our intimate courthouse ceremony along with our big party. ALL our photos turned out even better than I could ever imagine! 10/5 stars, truly. We couldn't recommend Sarah enough. Our wedding took place in our first home during the winter with a small number of guests. We worried a photographer would stick out against familiar faces, but we were so wrong! Sarah felt like another guest and she was wonderful to work with. Photos that were her idea ended up being some of our favorites. She captured the warmth and happiness that existed that night, and we couldn't be more grateful. Her FAQ sheet mentioned the words "photo ninja" and I would have to agree 100%. She's efficient, kind, and professional.

After our first coffee shop meeting, I just knew Sarah was going to be the perfect photographer for us. Only a couple of hours after our initial meeting, Sarah provided me with a detailed timeline of how we could capture all of the images that I was wanting on our wedding day without having to sacrifice our desire to skip out on a first look. My "less than thrilled to take photos fiance" had nothing but amazing things to say about Sarah and his experience after having our engagement session. Our images from our engagement session were greater than I could have imagined (i have looked at them daily since receiving them back). We both cannot wait to see the images that Sarah captures on our wedding day!!!

Sarah is so talented. When we got our pictures back, my husband and I relived our magical day all over again. She was there to capture the most important moments, and not only that... but in a beautiful way. Great angles and LIGHTING! Her pictures came in record time after our engagement session AND the wedding. Amazing! Sarah is AMAZING! She was easily the best decision we made about our wedding! Having her be apart of the day made me feel so at ease and comfortable! She was everywhere and captured everything! It is so cool to open up our album and see things we missed while we were talking, dancing, and eating. I love her Love, love, love her!

Sarah came into our lives when our original wedding photographer, a friend of my family, had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. What was originally a stressful disaster turned into amazing kismet. Though I was very nervous about having a stranger at our intimate, simple, DIY costume wedding, Sarah was so charming and relaxed she fit right in, even wearing a costume herself! We wanted to make sure everyone put down their phones and enjoyed each other and the moment instead of documenting our wedding for us so an excellent photographer was extremely important to us. She captured all of the moments we wanted, and all of the ones we didn't know we wanted with skill and seeming ease. She was also very good at photographing my one year old nephew, who is notoriously a difficult shot. The way the light works in our photos makes it seem like we were in a magical fairy garden, which I guess for that night maybe we were? At least that is the way it is memorialized. We have so many incredible photographs cutting them down to a wall collage is very difficult and though the wedding felt like it flew by we know from the photos that it was actually a evening well enjoyed! Sarah is a dream for your wedding day! Being a wedding planner myself, I loved her for so so many reasons; from her being so on top of timing and moving people around quickly to get all of the pictures in, to her personality being so fun and free, allowing us to feel beyond comfortable! When it was all over, we were incredibly sad she had to leave because she had become such a huge part of our day. Her photographs are phenomenal & she captures the most precious moments, perfectly! It was very important to us that we could feel comfortable to ensure the photos were true to who we were and our love...with that being the case, we couldn’t have had a more perfect photographer! Sarah is absolutely incredible! She is such a sweetheart and she is so talented in her craft. Both our engagement and wedding photos turned out stunning and we have only her to thank for them! Weddings are hectic but she did an amazing job wrangling everyone in and getting all of the best pictures. Multiple close family and friends told me after how much they loved her and how efficient and professional she was. I am so happy that I found her and when I did I was immediately hooked. Sarah was not only on punctual and responsive, she was kind and so fun to work with. If you want someone to make you feel at ease and special at the same time, Sarah is a great choice. My husband and I had never had professional photos together outside of other people's weddings, and she really made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, our photos were absolutely gorgeous, especially when she would prompt us with seemingly silly things. Sarah was truly incredible on our wedding day. She put us at ease when nerves were high, guided when we/our bridal party needed direction, gave us space for much needed alone time and kept us smiling for the entire day. If there was one thing we did right for our wedding (besides you know, the marrying each other part), it was hands down hiring Sarah as our photographer. To say that she exceeded our expectations is a huge understatement. Not only are we obsessed with how our photos (engagement and wedding) came out, friends and family and friends of friends and family of family continue to praise her photos. Hiring a solid photographer that we trusted was at the top of our wedding priority list especially since we were not planning on hiring a videographer. Although Sarah was over our photography budget, her professionalism, friendliness, portfolio, etc. convinced us she was the one for us and in the end, she was honestly worth every penny and then some. If you want someone who has a photojournalistic style, is a mixture of relaxed while keeping things in order, who is unobtrusive but will get all of the shots, makes you feel comfortable in front of a camera, willing to go the extra step (ex: scouting out some vines for our winter engagement shoot when it was below 20 F), will give advice on the wedding planning process, and overall is a really chill person, look no further! Sarah helped us keep everything on time the day of the wedding and was such a source of laughter and calm. We have absolutely no regrets here and if her portfolio calls to you - we're sure you'll have no regrets hiring her too!

Sarah is a bad-ass photography ninja/genius. She did an amazing job photographing our wedding and we were surprised at how quickly she was able to turnaround and deliver our photos to us. She was extremely professional from day one, and we were very glad we go the chance to travel to Louisville and do our engagement session with her to get to know each other before the wedding. During our wedding day, she helped to schedule our day and stuck to the schedule incredibly precisely. She gives great advice on how to pose, what to do, what locations might work, and she has some really fun and playful tricks to help loosen up her subjects from couples to kids to grandparents. She is also really great at getting big groups on task and organized. It was definitely what my loud and chatty family needed for photos after the ceremony. Overall she is an amazing talent and is so incredibly good at (unobtrusively) finding and capturing small moments. She's got a great eye for composition/framing, lighting/exposure, and timing. She got so many keepers that we are itching to share! When planning our wedding, we were looking for a photojournalist-style photographer and we are so glad we chose her. Before I was even dating my husband, I knew that I wanted Sarah to be my future wedding photographer. I knew her through friends in college, knew she was super cool, and saw the most beautiful wedding pictures that she had captured of previous weddings- I was so hopeful she was free on our day... and she was! Sarah photographed our wedding (and engagement photos) in September 2017. We chose her because her photos online were gorgeous, and ours were just as lovely as we had hoped. She made us feel very comfortable just being ourselves, and didn't try to pose or arrange us very much. She was fun to work with and was great at getting us to laugh when we felt awkward or nervous. We love the way she unobtrusively captured the details and important moments. She was great at finding good moments throughout the day to grab groups of people for photos so we didn't spend the short ceremony and reception taking endless photos.
