Here’s why: Lillie is a true creative visionary and industry professional who is well connected enough to know who each client should work with given their particular personalities, interests, and design goals. But she’s also down-to-earth and authentic enough to truly care—as not just a business owner and professional, but also a person—that her client is 100% happy with the way that their vision for their wedding comes to life on their wedding day. Lillie (and her entire time) are responsive, clear communicators who walk you through the entire wedding planning process from “wouldn’t it be amazing if we got married here?” to walking down the aisle, fully beaming and completely confident that your special day is going to be handled to perfection. Something that I didn’t know as an engaged person (and, I’ve always joked, I only plan to go through this process once!) is that planning a wedding weekend is a long process, and there is a specific order to which vendors to book when to ensure that everything aligns properly. Especially if you are planning a wedding in a place different from where you live (Charleston, SC is a place we had visited and loved, but not a place where we had local connections), working with an expert wedding planner who is extremely familiar with your wedding locale and venue is priceless. I could write a dissertation about why Lillie is simply the kindest, most responsible, most organized and truly aesthetic/artistic/creative person ever, but the main idea is that you could do yourself no greater favor than to inquire immediately about working with Lillie if you want a wedding weekend that you get to savor and fully be present for because you 100% trust that your planning team not only has everything covered, but also has the prior experience and resilience to handle any unforeseen issues that you weren’t even aware you should worry about in the first place. From email correspondence to our in-person site visit to the weekend itself, Sarah Lillie Designs is an exceptional full-service wedding planning team. I write this as a relatively anxious Type A perfectionist person, so I hope this speaks volumes: I do not have a single critique of my experience. Lillie and her team advocated for us, went above and beyond for us, and truly impressed us with their genuine, authentic, and monumental efforts. Here is a short list of the many things Lillie did that knocked our socks off: - Connecting us with local vendors and artists who could help us achieve personalizations and customizations that were central to our wedding aesthetic. - Helping us manage our budget so that we could spend our money on elements that would really be felt and experienced by our guests. - Delivering wedding day items back to our bridal suite so that, again, we could be fully present and enjoy our events. - Managing communication, contracts, and payments with vendors to make the planning process as seamless as possible. - Handling week-of and day-of mishaps (which are inevitable) without even concerning the bride herself. I will forever be grateful that we did, and I truly think the world of Lillie and her team as both professionals and people.

She was also very conscientious of how to make the biggest impact with our budget and explained tradeoffs clearly with venues and vendor choices. I don’t even have the words to fully express how grateful we are that we chose Lillie. My daughter’s vision was very personal and bespoke with a lot of moving pieces and Lillie helped us bring it to life in the most amazing way. Her vendor choices were just outstanding - with their talent and as people. We really enjoyed working with all of them - Lillie was able to match what we wanted with the right stationary/paper designer, florist, music choices etc. Lillie was also a great sounding board for the thousands of details that made my daughter’s wedding magical, always available and with great ideas to create the most perfect experience. My daughter's wedding day was so full of love, fun, and joy. I got SO many compliments about literally everything and every single detail was perfect. This rarely happens but the day was flawless thanks to Lillie. We could not have done it without her! Now that we are a few weeks out, I really miss talking to Lillie because she also became a friend. I still tear up thinking about how magical the day was. From the beginning, Lillie’s personality and presence was calm and inviting, while also being focused and motivated. Sarah Lillie Designs quickly understood our taste/style and seamlessly delivered an impeccable design. She was quick to understand our vision and not only executed on that vision but added her own experience and ideas to really bring our events to life. Her thoughtfulness and eye for design shined from beginning to end. We felt we were able to share our opinions or express anxiety openly with Lillie, and she always helped ground us while also being on top of our requests or questions. This was crucial as we were not local to Charleston. We are a couple that tends to be very specific and know what we like, and Lillie helped us to feel calm and excited about the timeline, our vendors (which were all AMAZING!), and particularly the design. Lillie’s eye for design is simply unmatched. She nailed it all. Many of our guests expressed that the wedding felt very “us,” and this was largely due to Lillie’s creativity, attention to detail, desire to get to know us as a couple, and collaboration. She is very easy going, which helped during such a stressful process. On the day of our wedding, not a thing was out of place. She was our guiding light from the linens, to teaching us about charger plates and design, drawing up vision boards to show us the looks. She absolutely nailed it. As a couple from out of state who planned a destination wedding for 80 guests, what started as a “we just want to show up” turned into absolute perfection. She made everything a seamless process even though we were out of state. She kept us updated but also kept us to a timeline that made sense so we did not get ahead of ourselves. She kept us cool when we were over thinking, and kept us engaged when we were feeling overwhelmed. Lillie guided us on every little detail. Those details are what made the wedding. The timeline was so spot on and our guests are still talking about all the perfect little details that made our day so special. Her creativity is unmatched, she is beyond professional, organized, responsive and knowledgeable about her craft. She was so excited about our unique flower seating chart and showing us she truly loves what she does. She is very involved and provides value to the planning process making you feel like you’re the only bride and groom she’s working with. She contemplates details we would never think about, explores ideas you bring to her and provides honest opinions, and anticipates problems before they occur. We truly felt like guests at our own wedding and were blown away. Lillie really shined with helping develop our theme and color scheme. We were able to bounce ideas off her and she would get excited along with us. In the constant barrage of social media influence, she knew all the trends and what would truly be important to make our day special and intimate. In person meetings with an amazing florist, she knew perfect flowers for the occasion which was not our specialty. She explained everything and added pictures to a vision board for us to see how everything would tie together. She provided so much inspiration but made sure that we had final say in everything. Every vendor she led us to was exquisite and detail oriented just like Lillie. She even drove us non-driving New Yorkers around to our vendor appointments and tastings. Both of us (bride and groom) felt very involved in every aspect of our wedding. She helped us find inspiration in things we did not even know we cared about. Even the groom started bouncing ideas off of Lillie because she got him so excited for our special day. In today’s fast paced world, it is easy for people to let the small details slide. Lillie was there with us every step of the way and gave not only us, but our family and friends too, a wedding to remember for the rest of our lives. We can’t wait to plan our 10th anniversary with her, lol.

Communication was easy even when I was deployed half way across the country, she still made it work for us! She took a lot of pressure off of us and made sure we were solely focused on each other and having a good time day of the wedding. Lillie provided 'day of' templates and checklists, she made my entire timeline down to the 10 minute increment and helped me work within the timelines booked at the venue so I didn't go over and have to pay extra, she provided suggestions on vendors, rehearsal walk through the day before, she contacting the vendors to confirm details on orders/payment/dropoff/pickup, she did day-of set up (which was A LOT…a whole jeep full), she dropped off flowers to me for my pictures, helped me when I needed something day of…the list goes on and on and on. A true orchestrator! Those small details that a bride stresses about on the day-of to make it perfect, Lillie did all of those for us and more. As a non-local bride, I really appreciated the suggestions on local vendors that she had too and on the day-of and guidance on all things Charleston so I could have a dream wedding day & weekend. Not only that but she knew every vendor already just from her years of experience in the industry. It put me and my family at ease that the day would go off without a hitch – and it did!
