Sarah Peterson Photography is a wedding photography service based out of San Francisco, CA. Owner Sarah offers thoughtful, modern coverage of weddings and other special occasions based in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. An industry professional, she has more than a decade of experience.
Sarah got her start in the photography industry by working on swimwear campaigns. From that, she moved on to modeling agencies and reality TV. She moved into wedding and elopement photography in 2018 after moving home to her family and friends in the Bay Area. She loves being able to play a role on such an important day and works hard to document the authentic spirit of the celebration.
As Sarah has scaled her business she's been lucky enough to grow her team with other talented photographers to expand the number of weddings they can service every year, and bring top notch service all across the Bay Area, PNW, and beyond.
Sarah Peterson Photography can begin documenting your love story with an intimate engagement photoshoot. Sarah has a one-event-per-day policy, so you can rest assured that you will have her full attention on your special day. A second photographer is also included in all wedding packages to ensure with double the coverage, no moment goes unseen. Special destination wedding packages are available for couples who are celebrating further afield. Images from this company are available as digital files and printed photos.

The entire planning process with Sarah was great, from our first meeting where we put together a vision of what we wanted our wedding photos to be, to the end result and our sneak peaks. Sarah was very communicative and listened to understand our perspectives. Her payment portal was professional and set up to allow for ease of payment. It was also great to follow along her social media and send her ideas before the event, which she was always down to try new things.
Sarah's photography skills are unmatched. Her attention to detail, playful artistry, and exceptional shot list preparation was absolutely perfect for our wedding in Half Moon Bay. The day-of was seamless between her and her second-shooter. My husband and I were separated the full day, and amid the nerves when we did our first looks, Sarah directed the scene but never made us feel over-posed which was so nice. She corrected stances, fluffed dresses, and threw in come of her wonderful humor which made the experience all more memorable! We felt so comfortable in front of the camera, which is really amazing. She captured beautiful and intimate moments of our special day that we will forever be grateful for. She also delivered our sneak peaks insanely quick after the event, I think it was like a 24-hr wait!
A photographer is a huge investment for a wedding or event, and we couldn't be more thankful for the results that Sarah gave us. Our photography package included an engagement photoshoot in addition to wedding photography. The quality of the photos from both our engagement session and wedding day was outstanding. One of the highlights was receiving a few 'preview pictures' shortly after each shoot, allowing us to enjoy some beautiful moments right away.
The pricing was transparent, and the payment portal was easy to use, making the financial aspects stress-free.
Throughout the process, Sarah provided invaluable advice on shot lists and was incredibly easy to work with when it came to posing. If we had a specific idea or location in mind for a photo, she not only took the lead but also enhanced our vision beyond what we could have imagined. She also emailed us ideas and example photos for different locations for our engagement photoshoot, helping us make our vision a reality. On our wedding day, Sarah took many photos throughout our events, including getting ready in the bridal suite, first looks, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, speeches, and reception. She was excellent at directing our family members to ensure we got all our posed family photos. Sarah also took some beautiful shots of just us post-ceremony. Throughout the dinner and reception, we felt at ease and relaxed knowing Sarah was there capturing every moment.
Beyond the professional aspects, our interactions with our photographer made us feel like we were working with a close friend. She always helped us to feel comfortable in front of the camera, despite us being introverted and inexperienced with being professionally photographed. Her support and encouragement throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding were truly appreciated and added to the overall wonderful experience. Sarah made us feel so comfortable, walking us through poses and explaining everything. She is SO fun, and it honestly felt like hanging out with a good friend of ours. I vividly remember getting in the car with my wife after we first met Sarah in person at our engagement shoot, and we both immediately said that we felt like we’d known her forever!
At our wedding, Sarah seriously went above and beyond with everything that she did for us. And, making sure that we were having fun, first and foremost. We received our photos so fast that it should be criminal. You can tell that Sarah genuinely cares for every couple that she works for, and it shines through in her photography. There isn’t a single photo that we received back that we weren’t absolutely in love with. Sarah captured photos of all of our loved ones, and captured the energy of our wedding flawlessly.

I spent hours looking for photographers and scouring their portfolios. The struggle I was having, was I couldn't find a photographer whose photos had the type of artistic style I was looking for - then I stumbled upon Sarah. It was apparent, she had an eye for beauty in all things, not just the human subjects she was capturing, but rather all the elements surrounding her subjects.
