Poor Experience, Customer Service & Quality The whole experience of getting the Sherwani was frustrating & stressful. Had I not continuously followed up, I would not have received my wedding outfit. Additionally, the quality was poor with 2 large obvious stitching lines as well as a very visible thumb sized stain. It is a shame that Saris & Things would charge $459.00 for a product that has clear issues and that they could not deliver as promised but perhaps this is a reflection of their business. Details: June 9th: Talked to Sheetal at Saris & Things in Illinois. My wedding was July 11th in North Carolina & I needed a Sherwani by July 6th latest for pictures. Sheetal said I would have it by the end of the month. Therefore, I placed an order for a $459 Sherwani & Stole (scarf). June 26th: Called Sheetal to get an update & it had not shipped from India. She said it will ship next week & I will receive it by July 6th. June 29th week: Called Sheetal and it was now shipping July 3rd. She was having the supplier in India ship it directly to me in North Carolina & I would have it by July 7th. When I checked the *DHL tracking number it was shipping to their store in Illinois. Followed up with Sheetal & she said the supplier made a mistake. My next steps were (1) She will Overnight it to me if it arrives the week of July 6th (2) Monday AM, July 6th , as a backup plan, her associate Sudha will email me Sherwani options they have in the store which they could overnight to me. July 6th : No email so I called. Sudha shared 4 Sherwani backup options – none of which were appealing to me. She told me that I would need to place a new order for whichever one I picked which seemed crazy. Decided to wait on the backup plan. I saw DHL arrived at their store on July 7th so I called Sudha. She said she’ll **Fed Ex it via Overnight shipment & send me the tracking number. Never got the tracking number, so I called the next day. They didn’t ship it Overnight as per the tracking below. It arrived Friday July 10th at a Fed Ex facility in NC & showed “No scheduled Delivery.” I spent the entire morning tracking it down & had to pick it up in person. Due to this delay, we missed our pictures earlier that week. Upon opening the outfit, it had a visible stain the size of a thumb & also 2 large stitching lines that went across the chest of the outfit. I was disappointed that after spending so much money & going through this ordeal, the outfit was defective. I wore it given the wedding was the next day. I reached out to Sheetal on July 14th & she said to email her pictures and she would talk to the designer. I followed up on July 20th & this was the response from Sari’s and Things: “... The stitching was done as deemed necessary by the designer. So unfortunately, we cannot refund you for this. We did our very best and went above and beyond, and got you your outfit in the midst of the pandemic and all the shipping issues. We also offered you a backup outfit in case the original one did not arrive. I hope you appreciate that fact.” I was the one that had to continuously follow up and go above and beyond only to receive a poor-quality product.
