We wanted to use local businesses, and knew Sassool would be awesome. Simone told us it would be like having family there to help!! She was right! Whatever we might need – they would provide. We never had to be concerned about a thing, as they took such good care of us. The bride and groom worked with both Simone and Noelle to provide a flavorsome and healthy, professional and attractive, sustainable and locally supportive wedding celebration. Sampling the menu with family and friends during the 1 1/2 year Covid “wait-for-a-new-wedding-date” date was a delicious endeavor. We even brought takeout back to the house a few times, set the table up all fancy, and sampled wines to serve at the wedding that would complement the menu items. Sassool was very accommodating as we planned the event – twice!. • We could choose from their serving pieces, or bring some of our own for a personal touch, which we did. (Natural bark & wicker bread baskets added warmth to the buffet tables.) • Their prices were a fraction of the traditional catering companies – with what seemed like endless amounts of food! • Simone was reasonable and flexible with the catering staff shifts. We had a soft opening, then the ceremony – then the full reception last. Staggering the staff worked well for this wedding, and helped cut costs. • The staff people provided were exceptional – always on top of each detail from cutting the cake, to tending to tables (even though we had a buffet,) to cleaning up after the event. • Recycling needs were respected, as were our value to keep garbage to a minimum. • Sassool even provided all of the ice for the entire event, when the ice maker at the Durant Lodge broke down last minute! The bride and groom wanted an all vegetarian meal, which the groom’s family were a bit hesitant about. But so many couples we know have done that - and Sassool’s food is so delicious, we respected their choice. The groom just told me that he was talking to his brother recently - and mentioned the reception food was ALL vegetarian. His brother exclaimed "What!" that he did not even notice - as the food was so unbelievably good and filling. Everyone had such a wonderful time - it really all came together so beautifully. storage before the wedding. At the reception, everything went so smoothly; the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff were excellent. Empty glasses were whisked away; guests seamlessly received cake after the cake cutting. The bartender was so efficient and friendly; there was never a long line of people waiting. As the bride, I didn't need to worry about anything--I just vaguely noticed how clean the tables were and how guests were happy and fed quickly as I ran around to talk to everyone. That indicates how high the level of service was. Finally, guests LOVED the food. I overheard two different guests raving about how the falafel was the best they had ever had. One friend confessed they had eaten three baklavas...knowing cake was to come, too. The spanakopita, roasted vegetables, chicken kabobs--all immense hits! Everything was so delicious! And as other reviewers have noted, all the food, amenities, and high-quality service provided come at an affordable cost. Sassool was one of the best choices I made for vendors. I recommend all Chapel Hill/Cary/Raleigh couples to use them for their catering needs! costs like we found with other wedding vendors (plates, beverages, etc.). Simone also did an outstanding job with our tasting, and all of our communication with her was prompt and clear. Sassool was happy to be flexible when we needed to drastically downsize our wedding due to COVID-19. Everyone at our wedding commented on how delicious the food was and how satisfied they were. This was by far the best deal we found for food (and also categorically the best food we found), and I can't recommend Sassool highly enough!

We had 3 servers and a bartender and were able to pull off a large wedding at our home with their help! Our guests raved about the food choices and the very friendly bartender. Their catering menu was even larger than their restaurant menu so there were many great options to choose from. Thank you again Sassool for doing such a great job!!!!

Sassool was the perfect match for the laid-back style of my daughter's wedding, but the restaurant would also be a great choice for a more elegant affair. Many of our guests were so impressed that they were still talking about the delicious food months later. We are very happy customers!

I'd love to share pictures of the meal: vegetarian lasagna, tabouli, chicken and roasted vegetables, cheese and olive platter, tatziki, hummus, etc. so wonderful!
