Where to begin? Uyen and I connected through a local foodies group on Facebook in April 2023 when I noticed she had shared some insights about her clients. We instantly hit it off ...
on our consultation call and my husband and I had no choice but to hire her. We didn't want to research anybody else. We didn't need to. A day after our call, she reached out to us with a venue and caterer that fell within our budget. Mind you, we hadn't even officially signed a contract or paid a deposit to her yet, but she was determined to help us. From that point on, we had countless late night emails and texts where she would review contracts for us, offer insights on best practices for our invitations, helped us figure out our menu and desserts, and everything else in between. We ultimately chose the original venue and caterer she had sent to us too! All other vendors were of our choosing, but she made sure to review our contracts for us and note any discrepancies we should be aware of and inquire about. She noticed every little detail. The day before our wedding, our reception manager allowed us to come early to set up. Uyen showed up on time, while I was running late tending to other errands. Naturally, anybody would be upset or annoyed, but that wasn't the case with her at all. She took that time to take care of other tasks and even stayed longer than she had allotted for us. Once I arrived, she helped unload our decorations and immediately started laying out our table runners, centerpieces, etc. for us without any need for specific direction. She just has the eye for those things and we trusted her completely. The day of the reception, she was on-site by the time our ceremony had ended. We had a few last minute set ups, but the main things were taken care of. She had everything covered. We even had an extra guest show up, and although I had given her a heads up that it might happen, she was prepared and handled the situation gracefully, simply asking the banquet lead to add an additional plate. She worked seamlessly not only with us, but every single one of our vendors - our photography and video team, caterer, venue, DJ, even my makeup artist who wasn't even part of the reception portion. What really stood out for me was her impeccable organization, keen attention to detail, quick wit, while maintaining a calming presence all around. Everyone who encountered her at our wedding simply adored her. Honestly, she makes me want to have a wedding all over again just to work with her again. Wedding planning can be a very stressful and overwhelming experience for many brides/couples. I had my fair share of mental breakdowns (mostly external stressors like family and people constantly asking how wedding planning's going and just natural life things), but Uyen was there to see me through it all and make sure that our wedding would be a perfect, memorable day. And that it was. Please do yourself a favor and hire her. Don't research anybody else. She's the only one that can do the job right. Also, she's a very talented baker, so if you hire her, she just MIGHT bake you something real yummy. No promises tho. :)
She was personable, organized, prompt, answered all our questions and helped us stay sane throughout the process. We talked to several other people who either seemed too creative ...
to be able to be organized, and others we called and never even heard back. We highly recommend Sassy Girl Weddings and Events!
Uyen was our year-long coordinator for our Aug 2013 wedding and it was clear from the get-go that she was our perfect match. She was organized, full of ideas, and our personalities...
/styles were all in sync (food, music, design, etc). The entire process was smooth and she dealt with all the details logistics.
She quickly processed our style/mood board and recommended vendors that fit. Uyen has many existing working relationships, e.g. our awesome Dj Lux of Premiere Events, but she was perfectly willing to branch out and find outside vendors if they worked better. This is how we found our wonderful photographer duo, Llanes Weddings.
Vendor meetings and venue visits were scheduled quickly and efficiently (she even scheduled a 2nd venue trip for us). She accompanied us on every vendor meet-up and we were never left alone. There were never issues with paperwork and payments, even when points-of-contacts changed. The truth is, we ourselves procrastinated a lot and added to her stress (probably)... But Uyen was *always* available and patient, whether it was her past-midnight emails to us or middle-of-the-day calls to vendors. She answered her phone and her emails almost always immediately, despite her own heavy schedule.
Week-of planning was ramped up (as expected) but her day-of planning and staff were exemplary. All of her folks were constantly moving around behind-the-scenes and our interactions were exceedingly pleasant. Uyen was on top of every decision that had to be made (e.g. extending Photobooth time), and every transition from one event to another was always smooth.
Every single one of our wedding guests had only the best things to say about the wedding, the vendors, and how on-schedule everything was beginning to end. Even now, months after, we're still in afterglow from how everything went. We count Uyen as one of our friends and highly recommend Sassy Girl Weddings for your event; she will undoubtedly be a stress-reliever for you!
