We worked with SEC for my daughter's reception in late April 2023. First, when we did the tasting, the choices and tastes were great. They took the time to understand what she was looking for. My daughter's wedding was held at a venue that was outdoors. We had a rain plan. Well... all the best plans can take a turn. The plan had to change from being under a tent to under a different covered area due to possible lightening. SEC quickly shifted with the plan, moved all the set up within the cocktail hour, and made no complaints. The cocktails hour food was particularly good - shrimp and grits, charcutier table (all kinds of items), passed items. The dinner was tasty too with blackened chicken and red snapper. I really appreciate how they accommodated my daughter's requests and adapted to a challenging weather situation. AND the food was great! thank you.

Chef Mark and his team are incredible! SEC came highly recommended to us by our wedding planner and I can see why! Our stations at our wedding were absolutely wonderful and delicious. We heard compliments all night long about the shrimp and grits and the beef and risotto. The staff was so king and efficient all night long. Thank you SEC for all your hard work!

Chef Mark and his team is TOP-TIER. The food, the service, and especially the flaming donuts were SO GOOD. I had guests coming up to me all next and the next few days after our wedding just raving about the food! Everything was just as it was for our tasting - even the hors d'oeuvres. I cannot thank them enough for all the hard work they put into our wedding and how just amazing the service staff was. Savannah Event Catering is THE BEST and I am so happy we got to share our Wedding with them!

Savannah Event Catering came HIGHLY recommended for our wedding and I can certainly see why! They were amazing to work with from start to finish. They were always very responsive by email and made endless tweaks to our menu. When I accidentally miscounted our final guest count, they adjusted and refunded me even though I was a day late in changing the number. For our tasting, they prepared a vegan meal for us to sample for a few guests who had a high number of dietary restrictions. Despite never preparing something like that before, they did a great job and we really appreciated the extra effort. They also worked well with us to maximize our budget and to fit the vibe of our reception. We did not have a cocktail hour or seated dinner and really wanted the reception to be a big party full of mingling and dancing. SEC's stations were perfect for this as people were able to grab small portions one at a time and get right back to the dance floor. The food was also very savory and filling so that it soaked up all the drinking people also did during our reception. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with shrimp and grits, beef and risotto, and a pasta station. Service was incredible and our guests could not stop commenting on how kind and efficient the service staff was. Used plates and napkins never sat longer than a minute at any table. It was really impressive!

Wow!! Savannah Event Catering is amazing. Right from the initial quote to the final meal everything was perfect for our daughter's wedding. Our tasting was very informative and yummy!!! (Our daughter and son-in-law don't live here) Chef Mark was extremely helpful with the choices. They changed our appetizers on the fly due to the possibility of Hurricane Ian and they were perfect. The SEC staff and service was top notch. They put out all of our chargers for us and the place settings looked amazing. My husband and I were very impressed with the food, tasted exactly like our tasting. We had compliment after compliment that it was the best wedding food that people had ever had. People still are talking about it. Service was upscale!!! We had the pecan crusted salmon, chicken picatta, and a roast beef station. The sides were also very good (asiago Mac and Cheese Yum). The flaming donuts were definitely a hit and a must have--yummy and very entertaining.

Savannah Event Catering was awesome!! I was looking forward to the food on our wedding day the most and I will say SEC did not disappoint! Everything was delicious!! Our guests are still raving about the food. Chef Mark and his team were so easy to work with! We went with 2 passed apps (pork potstickers, bacon wrapped shrimp) and a cheese/fruit display for cocktail hour. The display was massive and a huge hit. The staff was fantastic as well! They brought us apps in between pictures so we could also enjoy them and checked on us several times during dinner service. For dinner we ended up doing a buffet with a craving station. We had several guests go back for seconds and one went back for a third round 😂 We also had the amazing flaming doughnuts! You cannot go wrong with any of the options! Everything was delicious and presentation just beautiful! Thank you so much SEC!!

Chef Mark and the whole SEC crew were amazing! They were so easy to communicate with and quick to respond to all of our questions! Our tasting was so helpful and they truly made sure that we had exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. The food was amazing! Everyone loved all of the stations and were able to get exactly what they wanted for dinner. The passed appetizers during cocktail hour were also amazing and they made sure to come and make sure my husband and I had enough food.

Mark Scomo and his staff is awesome and very knowledgeable. He helped us design a menu that was just perfect my wedding; we're still getting compliments on the risotto. Julia was amazing. She was able to answer all of my crazy questions. I would definitely use them for another event and recommend them.

PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT- Chef Mark and his team were nothing short of amazing on our wedding day. From the very beginning it was the perfect experience. The tasting was so helpful and the suggested that we bring our families with us which was a huge help too. The captains at our event were wonderful and made sure that the layout was exactly how we wanted it and the food... THE FOOD. So so good and we still have people telling us how good the food was. The donuts were a no brainer for us, and the guests ate them up! 100/10 experience throughout. Cannot say enough good things about Chef Mark and the entire Savannah Event Catering team.

We used Savannah Event Catering for our wedding in March and were so, so happy with the whole experience. The team always communicated quickly via email and were very helpful when adjustments needed to be made to the menu throughout the planning process. The tasting was also SUCH a treat! Chef Mark was seriously such a nice person and was very patient with me, my husband, my parents, and my mother in law and helped with any questions we had about our menu. I'm so thankful Savannah Event Catering got to be a part of our day and appreciate all of their hard work for our event!

Stop searching... call Mark and his team! These are the people you want to cater your wedding in Savannah. They were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the wedding process, and their food (one of things that ALL of your guests notice) is mind-blowingly delicious. No generic, rubber-chicken dinners here. After a week, our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed the food!

We hit the jackpot with Chef Mark and Savannah Event Catering! Our wedding planner referred Chef Mark to us for our daughter's Savannah wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed Chef Mark and his passion for food during the initial tasting. The main event was even better! Our guests commented that this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding, and we wholeheartedly agree! We highly recommend Chef Mark and his staff for any event you may consider. He is fabulous!

Savannah Event Catering (SEC) was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Chef Mark and team were responsive and so helpful in planning the best menu for our guests. The tasting was fun (and filling), Chef Mark suggested items we wouldn’t have originally chosen, but ended up having on the menu. Julia, office administrator for SEC, is awesome! She was so helpful and patient with questions and rescheduling when Covid changed our plans, and throughout the entire process. SEC brought their A game and provided quality food, but also sent a staff who treated our guests with such courtesy and professionalism – the servers received many compliments from our friends and family. Don’t miss out on the best Shrimp and Grits (and I don’t even like grits)! SEC -10 stars.

Savannah Catering did our rehearsal dinner in Statesboro - and it was AMAZING! We had tapas for the dinner and lived every station. Highly recommend the flamming donut bar as a dessert. It was a crowd favorite.

Savannah event catering was perfect for my special day in July 2021. They were recommended by my planner and the tasting was phenomenal. Due to the pandemic however, we ended up having to postpone our 2020 wedding and with that change we switched venues. As the final preparation for our big day was finally approaching, our planner was coordinating with our vendors for finalizations and Chef Mark recognized one change we forgot to implement. We were originally doing stations, but our new venue had a space in the back for food, which was better suited for buffet style. Chef Mark, noticing the change in the final days leading up, quickly drafted a new menu to accommodate a more structured and swift dinner hour. We ended up having a call with my planner and Chef Mark to create the perfect revised menu for a well-structured and smooth dinner hour. The highlight of the wedding were the flaming donuts served for dessert, that our guests continue to rave about. Our late night snack of grilled cheese was also a fan favorite at our wedding. Although we missed out on this treat, I have been told by a guest “ I will never look at grilled cheese the same. Life changing”. Thank you Savannah Event Catering for making my day extra special and eventful with the wonderful food. Highly recommend.

Two words!! FLAMING DOUGHNUTS!!!!! Chef Mark and his team worked with my fiancé and I on exactly what we wanted. That opened the conversation to well EVERYTHING!! I didn't think I was going to get my guy out of there!!! The two main dishes that were THE HITS of the whole Wedding where the Shrimp and Grits and the FLAMING DOUGHNUTS!! People are still talking about it a week later!!! I couldn't be happier with choosing SEC. The staff at the venue were polite, respectful, fun and amazing!!! I definitely recommmend Mark and his team!!!!

SEC hands down has the BEST food around! Chef Mark was wonderful to work with. All of our guests raved about the food. From the appetizers, to the plated dinner, to the flaming donut bar - there wasn’t any food left over!! Chef Mark personally came to find my husband and I while taking photos to make sure we got a plate of the appetizers. We were also served our meals first so we could eat before making our rounds to guests. Schedule a tasting with SEC right away to taste their delicious menu and get your hands on one of their donuts!

I am SO glad we hired Savannah Event Catering as our wedding caterer. The food was delicious and we received many compliments from our guests about our passed appetizers and buffet dinner. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with, as well. Chef Mark, Julia, and everyone that we communicated with was kind, professional and knowledgable about food pairings and best wedding practices. I am convinced that SEC is the best caterer in the Savannah area.

Our wedding was last night and I couldn't wait to get up this morning and write this review. From the very first message Mark, Hayley and their team were responsive and considerate. Our tasting blew us out of the water and we knew we had to book them! We followed their Instagram page and with every delicious post grew more and more excited for our wedding. Julia in the office was always so helpful with what were probably a lot of last minute COVID related changes to our guest list. Our wedding day came and all of the staff were so sweet and helpful. Some of the guys even helped us moved some heavy boxes without us even asking for help, because they were just so sweet. Now, THE FOOD. I honestly think every single guest raved about every single course. The amount of compliments we got on the salad alone--no one knew a salad could be so amazing. Mark made sure to save my groom and I some appetizers so we could try them--such a thoughtful touch. We did the beef tenderloin with demi-glace, the chicken beaumont and one person with a veggie meal--EVERY single person RAVED!!! We finished with the key lime tarts and I actually ordered extra so I could take some home--best decision I have ever made! But the real showstopper were the flaming donuts. Not only were they delicious but it was such a fun and unusual way to end the night. PLEASE do yourself the best favor you could ever do and book Mark and team for your wedding !!! A million thank yous!

Mark and his team are amazing. The food was fantastic, the tasting was free, we could bring guests and Mark sat and talked with us to help us work out a menu. The food tasted just as good, even better at the wedding. Our guests enjoyed it and they took care of everything they said they would. I highly recommend Savannah Event Catering.

We used Savannah Event Catering for our destination wedding in December, and if I lived in the area I would use them for all future events. Chef Mark and his team did a superb job! The food was flavorful, fresh and hot. All our friends and family kept mentioning how delicious the passed hor d'oeuvres, plated salad and main meal were, and they were all blown away by the flaming donuts and ice cream! I would recommend anyone having a wedding in the Savannah area to hire Savannah Event Catering.

Servers were friendly and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious. It rained on the day of our event, which had little impact on catering staff. They made every effort to make our day special.

Savannah Event Catering is top notch. All of my guests were raving about the food. I was particularly excited about the food for our wedding after our tasting. Be warned though, after your tasting you will have a hard time deciding on which goodies, you’ll want your guests eating on the big day. We had a carving station, shrimp and grits, several delicious appetizers and Flaming Donuts! All of our food was a hit! I highly recommend Chef Mark and his team.

This company was amazing every step of the way! We had a good tasting before booking and everything was delicious; come day of and the food tasted the exact same as the tasting so we knew exactly what we were getting. The staff was super professional and really adaptable with the current situation going on. The flaming donut station was to die for and a hit with our guests. I’m still getting messages a week later about how amazing all the food was!

Mark took the time with us during the tasting to prepare every dish we wanted to have at our wedding, preparing us for how to serve things during COVID, suggesting dishes we wouldn't have thought of. Savannah Event Catering’s food is amazing! Mark is a very talented chef! We did a taste testing more than a year before our wedding and fell in love with Mark’s food. AWESOME CATERERS!! From the first email and asking thousands of questions and requesting so many quotes, they were always patient with me and answered soooo many questions!! We ordered 3 different appetizers and low country boil for dinner! It was SO GOOD and the service was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone was super nice and professional and made sure our guests had everything they needed! They also boxed up appetizers & food for us to take home which was PERFECT because we barely had time to eat at the reception and were starving by the time we got home!

The food was amazing! Chef Mark was wonderful to meet and he really knows what he is doing. He was able to suggest appropriate foods that could be served best at an outdoor venue and even tempted us with their amazing donuts. I am so sad that my husband and I did not get to eat one on our wedding day, but they are top notch! I recommend this caterer. They were reasonably priced and easy to work with. They always responded to my emails and questions promptly and I really appreciated that.

My son's October wedding was held at our home. There were a number of major events taking place in our lives at the time of the wedding that made it impossible to participate in the planning and organizing of the event. My son's wife did most of the wedding planning and Savannah Event Catering took care of everything to do with food. The result was the most outstanding wedding ever. Everyone had a great time, including the bride and groom. The food was outstanding. Everyone raved about the food. It has been months since the wedding and people are still talking about the food. The presentation and service was amazing. There is no doubt that SEC is the best caterer in the Savannah area.

Savannah Event Catering absolutely blew me away. I did tastings with other caterers in the city. Small portions, large tasting fee. SEC held a tasting for me free of charge with large portions and lots of options. Everything was fantastic, and as a vegetarian, even the side dishes were beyond delicious. They absolutely blew me away at my reception. And the Flaming Donut Bar they offer, was a complete showstopper and worth the money!

My husband and I live in New York so we put in A LOT of work in finding the best catering company in Savannah for our destination wedding. After traveling back and forth scheduling tastings with probably every single company in the area, Savannah Event Catering was by far the BEST. They make delicious fine-dining restaurant quality food. They also have so many options to choose from. Chef Mark was such a joy to work with. My mother and I are very particular which leads to indecisiveness at times. Ha! However, he was very helpful in helping us finalize our wedding menu. We put our trust in him and his wonderful staff, and boy they did not disappoint. We had the time of our lives on our wedding day and our guest are STILL talking about the food. Everything was perfect.

Mark prepared a large choice of appetizers and main dishes and helped us put together a menu that satisfied everyone. We had a buffet with one station. The food was wonderful, the presentation, quantity and quality was excellent. The staff did a great job and was very professional. If you are looking for an alternative to a traditional wedding cake (we had a small one for the cutting), the flaming donuts were a huge hit. Not only a great presentation, they were delicious.

Could not have been happier with Savannah Event Catering! Am so happy I went with them. Chef Mark created a unique menu that reflected our personalities and our families very well, and they were incredibly accommodating with changes and food allergies. We got so many comments on how delicious the food was (a big compliment from my foodie family), and were super excited for leftovers. The waitstaff was so lovely, and they made sure the bridal party all got some of the (delicious) appetizers during photos - which was much appreciated. The donut bar was an absolute HIT!!! I was skeptical before we tried them but oh my goodness! And everyone is still talking about it weeks later. If I ever have any event in Savannah again I would work with them again in a heartbeat.

Mark Scomo and his staff are dream caterers. Right at our tasting, we knew they were the team for our daughter's wedding. Mark's farming doughnut bar is his specialty and cap of a wedding deliciously. Because those were last, people kep talking about them but ALL the food was incredible. Presentation is very nice, staff is helpful, couldn't ask for better!

There are not enough words to express how delighted we were with our wedding reception catered by Mark Scomo from Savannah Event Catering. From the moment we contacted Mark about our wedding, he paid attention to every detail, asked appropriate questions and provided expert advice in areas that we were unsure of. On the day of the wedding, everything was just as we had planned. The decor was stunning and the food was absolutely delicious. We made a great decision by choosing Savannah Event Catering for the wedding. Then, we made a poor decision by trying to find a different rehearsal dinner caterer / venue. Then, we made a really awesome decision to select them for the rehearsal dinner as well! For the rehearsal dinner, they brought what was quite possibly the best low country boil we've ever had - the staff that came to support the event was courteous, friendly, quick to help in whatever way possible, and made the event even more amazing than we thought it could have been! For the wedding, I don't even know where to start! The appetizers were a hit (we took the Brie/Raspberry phyllo cup recipe and scored some points recently with a dinner), and the stations were each really amazing - can't go wrong with shrimp and grits; also can't go wrong with Chicken and Waffles! And to wrap everything up, regardless if you get a groom's cake, you have to get the flaming doughnut bar - it was a spectacle to see and was one of the best things we had at the wedding!

Mark and his staff did a fantastic job. From the moment I met him for our tasting, I knew he was going to do a fantastic job. He made suggestions to help elevate our meal. The day of, his staff arrived on time and were very professional. Not a single person had anything bad to say about the food and what little leftovers we had were quickly claimed.

Mark and Hayley are wondereful to work with. They are so flexible and have great communication, which is incredibly important! The food was absolutely fantastic and our guests were definitely impressed. The donut flambe dessert bar is simply amazing! Our guests are still raving about it.

I just want to say thanks to Mark and his team for the wonderful job they did at the wedding of Janie and Chris on April 19th at Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. From the initial meeting to the final dish at the reception Mark was a joy to work with. Rather than simply offer a tasting of the "set" menu that we had given him, he prepared a few of the dishes we had specified but also presented other choices that were in keeping with the food theme that the Bride and Groom had expressed to him. He said that he felt like "it is my responsibility as a caterer to offer you a selection of foods that all meet your idea of what you want." His instinct on this was absolutely right because those offerings helped the Bride and Groom decide on a menu that was much better than what they originally thought they wanted. He was available anytime throughout the planning process to discuss the menu, the setup of the tables, the presentation of the food and even the planning needed for the guest count, which grew to a size larger than we originally planned as well. He even met with me to talk about different ways to fold and present napkins on the table! Thanks to his planning, suggestions and experience in the catering field we were able to have a buffet dinner that served around 180 people and everyone was through the buffet (their first trip) in around 30 - 40 minutes. The appetizers that were passed around during the cocktail hour were incredible and delicious. And the food for the dinner buffet was great. It was all hot and full of flavor. Our guests bragged on it during the entire reception and I have gotten many compliments and inquiries about it since the wedding. Months later we still talk about it with friends and family. "The best food I've ever had at a wedding." This was the comment we received from one of our groomsmen (a veteran wedding guest and foodie). We were in Savannah one Saturday completing several wedding errands when we received an email from Mark telling us he was available for an impromptu meeting. Having been recommended by our recently hired florist, we were anxious to meet with him. Upon arrival, we were offered beverages and to our surprise, Mark and his staff had prepared samples of many of their signature offerings. We had eaten lunch not long before, but the food was so delicious, we couldn't pass up anything they offered. We knew immediately that we wanted Savannah Event Catering to cater our wedding. We had a fairly low budget, but we also had a pretty specific list of the food we wanted served. Mark worked with our budget and gave us exactly what we had in mind. We met with several other caterers before Savannah Event Catering, but none of them stood a chance against Mark and his team. We couldn't have been happier with the food or service that Savannah Event Catering provided.

We were married on March 10th 2012 at the Tybee Wedding Chapel. From the very begining, even when we were thinking of a back yard affair, I wanted our reception catered. I have so many talented and capable friends and family that would have gladly helped in this area as they did for my brother's wedding several years ago. However, what ended up happening was that they were so exhausted and worked so hard that they were not able to enjoy the event themselves. So whether we had 30 or 160 people, a caterer was #1 in the budget. After a couple of calls and email requests, I spoke with Mark Scomo at Savannah Event Catering. From our very first conversation, to the first time we met where he drove to our house, to all of the other follow up conversations including a 50+ increase in guests, he ALWAYS left us feeling at ease and that everything would be handled. He most certainly did! Mark is professional, confident, informative, accommodating, and most importantly...A FABULOUS CHEF! I am still receiving calls about how delicious all of our food was. I have even heard a few tales of some food specific friends/family that were in line at the carving station! We never had to worry about a thing...which was EXACTLY why we chose to have a professional. Even better, my husband and I hosted our own rehearsal dinner in which we served a Low Country Boil and were intending on providing another dish/option for our guests that did not eat seafood. We realized two weeks before that we just had too much on our plate (ha ha) and just called to see if Mark could help us out in any way. He was already cooking for an event that night but if we'd be interested in what he was cooking he could just make extra. Hot roast beef, assorted rolls, mashed potatos and green beens were on order! His father delivered the food at the exact time it was promised (and was as sweet as he could be). All of this great service and the prices are beyond reasonable.
