Our experience with Savor at River House was amazing! We couldn’t have asked for anything better. James Dutton was so wonderful to work with and he’s so attentive to every detail. James thought of everything to make the planning so much easier. He was so helpful and was there to answer any question or concern we had. As a result, our wedding and reception was perfect! James is truly remarkable!
Angie Nichols, the assistant general manager of Savor, also made sure everything was perfect from start to finish on our special day. She is extraordinary! Angie was so attentive, she was there to calm my nerves, foresee what I would need and she would just handle everything for us. We will never be able to thank her enough for making our day unforgettable!
The food was outstanding and our guests still talk about how delicious everything was.

Savor at River House is a luxurious restaurant wedding venue located in Louisville, KY. Created by award-winning chef John Varanese, this property has been beautifully renovated for modern celebrations that run long into the night. Situated along the banks of the Ohio River, this splendid venue boasts not only lavish interiors with stunning natural vistas.
There are four main event spaces within the Savor at River House which can accommodate up to 300 guests. These rooms feature a plethora of bespoke decorations, modern furnishings, and a neutral color scheme that allows you to implement your own style on your special day. The main event space is a beautifully ballroom-style area that has ample space for seated dining, a dance floor, and live entertainment. This room includes panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that lead to an outdoor balcony. This open-air balcony features chairs, tables, and views of the river. Separate event areas include the Wine Tasting room which is ideal for small cocktail hours and intimate dinners. One of the things that I loved about Savor is that it's all in one- ceremony on the lawn, the rental included tables, chairs, linens, etc., food and drink. I was an out of town bride so not having to source a bunch of other vendors was really great for me. Another huge bonus was the food and service was incredible! We did a plated dinner and everyone got served very quickly and raved about their meals. I highly recommend Savor at River House and working with James and his team on your big day!

arrangements. The venue could of just said "well we don't do flowers" but James and his staff put a solution together that was above and beyond. That convinced us to go with someone who is committed to the experience and not hide behind the contracts. If you want to cut corners, there are many choices but if you want your guests to say best food, best DJ, best view, best experience, at a slightly higher price, choose Savor at River House. We had the wedding, rented the downstairs for the cocktail hour, went back upstairs, and had the time of our life. Little things like the post wedding wine room for the bride and groom, the quality of the sound system, the temperature of the AC in July, the altar, the friendliness of the staff and management, and the food were top notch. The appetizers of hot brown and others were delicious. We went with all in consumption to get the best bourbon but they have lower priced plans. It was worth every penny and looking back, I am so glad the bride and groom selected this venue.

He did the most when it came to helping us plan our perfect fairytale wedding, he truly went above and beyond. Aside from all of that, he has the most kind and fun loving personality, he made this expierence a blast. I would recommend him and this venue over and over again. On top of James and his excellent service, the staffing here is the most respectful, kind, polite and accomodating staff I have ever delt with in a resturant scene. Savor was able to accommodate over 150 guests comfortably in the lower level for the cocktail hour followed by a spacious and elegant upper level reception room overlooking beautiful landscape and the Ohio River. The patio outside the cocktail hour, and balcony at the reception level gave the evening an additional feeling of elegance and comfort. The sunset over the river at the time of dinner was beautiful.
The food was outstanding. Dozens of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere of the evening.
Working with James Dutton who guided us during the planning process was a pleasure. He had answers for all of our questions and made the entire event a success. He always seemed to be one step ahead of every aspect of the planning and execution of the entire event from start to finish.
It was a perfect wedding reception. Thank you James and all the staff for making our daughter’s wedding so memorable!

The food was fantastic as well--many people said it was the best wedding food they've had! The filet really was to die for.
Our ceremony was on the river and was beautiful. The cocktail hour and reception areas are beautiful as well, minimal decorations needed. Having our wedding in a space where the ceremony, reception, F&B, tables, chairs, linens, etc., is all handled by one vendor made for a truly easy wedding planning process.
If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing.

ed with rain the day before and day of our wedding - the team at Savor figured out how to move our ceremony inside and make it a seamless transition from ceremony to reception. The food was incredible, service top notch, and I couldn’t have asked for a better more beautiful space to get married in. Highly recommend having your event/wedding here !!!

I was looking for somewhere to have a rehearsal dinner for 80+ people next year. I called on a Monday about getting a tour of the event space. No one called me back until Wednesday...
. James called and said he would call me later that day to set up a time for a tour for Saturday. I never heard back so I called on Saturday to see what time they could take me through with my mother in law. Courtney was so rude and so unaccommodating. This will easily be a 8k+ dinner with the amount of people and alcohol that will consumed. It is sad I would have to beg for someone to take my money. We were in between River House and Vincenzos. After the poor treatment we received from River House the decision was clear. Vincenzos staff has been amazing!

ednesday night that tripled in size and the day did get away from me. It's no excuse for me failing to respond but wanted you to know I am very sorry. It was communicated to me that my sales partner, Courtney James, did connect with you on Saturday but the time you requested to view our space we could not do. We are sincere in saying that try our very best to help all of our guests and give the attention they all deserve and again, I am sorry. We are happy to hear that you might be choosing one of our friends here town, Vincenzos. One of their owners were in yesterday to celebrate Father's Day for dinner with us and we very much appreciate his patronage. If there is anything else we can do to help, please consider reaching out to me.
