Services Offered:
I provide services for single-faith, multi-faith, and non-religious wedding ceremonies, civil unions, and vow renewals.
In addition to officiating your wedding, my services include unlimited meetings with the two of you (typically via Zoom), a custom ceremony reflecting your preferences and personalities, and filing your marriage license via certified mail. The only additional fee is for my attendance at your rehearsal.

Lois is THE most consummate professional I have encountered during the process of selecting our wedding vendors. She is highly responsive, warm, open, transparent and can understand vision immediately. We had a multi cultural wedding and a very unique ceremony style which Lois crafted our ceremony around. When I saw the first draft I literally cried-she had managed to tie in an element that was an inside connection between my fiance and I, and as I kept reading I felt an instant connection to her as a person, not only as our officiant đź’•
Every question, request and opportunity to collaborate was taken seriously, and on our actual wedding day, she had the most calming and supportive presence which kept me calm in turn. Lois even went out of her way to attend a venue walkthrough and was constant running interference where we needed it. She was a huge part of why our wedding was so meaningful and magical. If you don’t choose Lois to officiate your event, you will be missing out. She makes me want to renew my vows every year just so I can hear her recite those beautiful words again! She is worth far more than 5 stars!!

if anyone is worried about getting an officiant they don't know in a world where so many people just use people they know, look no further. it is so worth it to get a professional you can rest easy knowing she knows exactly how ceremonies work and helped coordinate everything, so it went seamlessly. Lois is so personable and got our written completed ceremony to us so quick. she was so down to earth at our original consultation we knew we had to pick her. she made a stressful day so much better.

Lois officiated our wedding this September. She did a fantastic job and many of our guests complimented our ceremony. Lois was easy to work with, gave examples of different items we could include in the ceremony, took our feedback and adapted the script. Would highly recommend her for future weddings

Lois was amazing!!!! She helped me along the way to make our special day perfect. Grown men at the wedding came up to me and told me they were in tears at how beautiful the ceremony was. Lois was amazing to work with!! We found her here on the Knot. She was extremely easy to communicate with and we felt very comfortable with her. We spoke to her via zoom and she asked what we wanted to include in our ceremony. She sent us a draft of the ceremony beforehand so we could review it. Our ceremony went flawless with her as our officiant! Our guests only said great things and our other vendors also recommend working with her! I am so glad she officiated our ceremony!

Lois was amazing! She was very professional but also very down to earth and helped us pick out a perfect ceremony for our wedding. It was personalized to my wife and I and all of our family and photographer loved Lois. We had a very quick turnaround from when we first contacted Lois to when our actual wedding was and she was able to accommodate everything we asked and needed. We did things a bit untraditional as we had a small group of immediate family with us and it was an outdoor wedding on the lakeshore of Chicago in October. So it could have been a bit of a bad situation with weather or people out of our control. Everything went off without a hitch though and a lot of that was thanks to Lois. We highly recommend her if you are looking for a professional officiant that also feels like a part of the family and truly wants the best for you and your partner!

We couldn't ask for a better officiant for our wedding than Lois.
We've asked Lois to integrate the veil/chord/coin traditions in our ceremony which is rooted in our heritage. We wanted these tradition as a part of our wedding ceremony even though our wedding is not in a church. Lois, did a great job integrating these traditions as part of our wedding ceremony and we are so happy on how everything turned out. From the writing of the ceremony script, to the execution of the ceremony itself, everything was perfect.

Our original officiant had to back out and suggested Lois. She totally stepped up and it ended up working out great for us. She is such a positive light. She was great with communication. She was open to any ideas and changes to the ceremony we wanted. She even worked our Lego theme in. We got a ton of compliments on our ceremony being the best people had ever attended. Highly recommend!

Lois is the best! My, then, fiancé and I interviewed several officiants and as soon as we met Lois over a zoom call we both knew we had found the perfect person. We wanted something with some spiritual component, but not overly religious. She helped us bridge that gap. Lois, is so experienced she put us at ease the day of and she helped us to tailor the ceremony to make it personal and so special. I can’t imagine us ever finding someone better!

Lois was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was quick to communicate and more than happy to go through multiple drafts of our ceremony with us until it was what she wanted. She also offered great advice on how to help keep the ceremony organized. We had a nonreligious ceremony that incorporated some Jewish tradition and she was able to include this seamlessly so that it flowed well with the ceremony and readings. She was pleasant and well spoken and we received multiple complements and guests asking where we found her and commenting on how nice the ceremony was. I recommend her as wedding officiant without hesitation!

Lois was absolutely wonderful! She was actually recommended to us by another wedding officiant who cancelled on us and we are so glad things worked out the way they did and that she ended up being our officiant! Lois was absolutely amazing! My husband and I wanted to do a hand-fasting ritual for the ceremony. Lois had never done it before, but she was a quick learner and helped make our dream come true. She is also super easy to work with. I would highly recommend hiring to anyone I know!
We were recommended Lois through another officiant we had contacted and we were very happy he did! Lois was very easy to talk to and great at communicating with us. We wanted a very quick, simple ceremony, but she still made it special and unique to us.

I'm a little late writing this, but nonetheless wanted to make sure Lois gets the credit she deserves. My husband and I live in Ohio. I'm originally from northern Illinois, and that's where my family resides now. We are having a big wedding still this fall, but I knew my grandparents wouldn't be able to make the trip for it. So, we had a private ceremony for them in IL, the day after Thanksgiving. Lois was so kind. She traveled 2 hours to my grandparents home. She kept in contact the whole time, and was super understanding and accommodating. The vows she wrote for us were perfect. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly, highly recommend.

We looked for the perfect officiant for a while before finding Lois and I'm so glad we finally found her! She was warm and caring, and from the very first communication we felt comfortable and excited to have her perform our ceremony. We met with her over zoom where she got to know us and our family and was able to put together a ceremony that was everything we wanted. She arrived on the day of with extra time to meet us and give me some encouraging, calming words to soothe my jitters. Our guests were impressed with how perfectly everything went from start to finish. I highly recommend Lois and am thankful for having her be a part of our big day.

I grew up going to weddings! My dad was a minister, and I loved watching him prepare for each ceremony, ensuring that all the details had his utmost attention. His example has been the standard in my wedding preparations. My degree in Communications, with an emphasis on Public Speaking, is also invaluable for my role as your Wedding Officiant.
When I am not meeting new couples and writing wedding ceremonies, I love to spend time with my three children and our two cats, Lucy and Ethel!
