s, and he was incredibly helpful in getting the songs we had collected throughout the year downloaded and ready for the event. That made our experience on the wedding day especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the coordination and flow of the reception did not go as we had expected. There was some miscommunication between the DJ and officiant regarding announcements, which meant important photo announcements were missed and the bride ended up having to coordinate directly with the photographer, family and friends to get the shots needed. There was also confusion around the songs for specific dances. For example, the father of the bride was asked what song he was dancing to and had to come find the bride during photos to clarify. The song ultimately played for that dance also wasn’t the full version we had discussed—we had specifically planned a mash-up that would transition into a fun dance. The result was a reception that felt more awkward and less organized than we had envisioned, and unfortunately the bride spent much of the evening worrying about details instead of being able to relax and enjoy the moment. We had also allocated a significant portion of our wedding budget toward having DJ Tru there because of how much we admired his work, which made the experience particularly difficult. That said, we want to be fair: we still think DJ Tru is a super talented DJ, really like him and have personally seen him be fantastic at many other events. We honestly believe our wedding may have been an unusual, one-off experience. In hindsight, having a full wedding planner and dedicated day-of coordinator to keep all vendors aligned may have helped prevent some of these issues. We would still recommend DJ Tru for his musical talent and energy, but for a wedding, we would also strongly recommend having a dedicated coordinator on-site to manage the timeline, vendor communication, and important details with the DJ. We were disappointed with how our wedding day unfolded, especially because we had such high expectations based on his work at other events, but we don’t want that one experience to overshadow the talent and passion we’ve seen from him otherwise. Moral of the story- Hire a wedding planner and hire a day of coordinator if you appreciate details and get stuck on an idea or expectation and want the attention and focus to be on you.  Our guests said they had a blast so thats good!

He had a perfectly balanced setlist and is very observant to the vibe of the crowd to know when to play faster songs, slower songs, and the transitions in between. He even joined the dancing too! He is very engaging and present during the entire event and absolutely everyone at our wedding had very positive things to say about DJ Truemaster. Hiring him as our DJ was without a doubt the best and easiest decision for vendors that we made and we are beyond happy with his work. If you need an excellent DJ that goes above and beyond, Truemaster is your guy!!

He played hit after hit, read the crowd amazingly, and kept the energy at the MAX the entire time. I could have kept dancing to his music the entire night- and I know our guests felt the same. We have gotten countless comments from friends and family about how amazing the party was, that the vibe was set by the music that kept everyone going all night.  Would work with DJ Tru for any/all future occasions - he's guaranteed to make your party the best time you've ever had. 

considered. He created an amazing experience from about 10 song prompts. He was easy to reach and very prompt in his responses, and an excellent MC. He kept everything moving throughout the night, read the room to keep people up and dancing, and just overall helped to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be. I can't recommend him highly enough; if he has your date available, book him now. 12/10, all the stars.
