We had a very small, simple & intimate ceremony and this venue turned our special day into an unforgettable celebration.

hat I work nights in healthcare so my schedule is a mess and makes it kind of difficult to get ahold of people during "functioning hours" for me. Even with that, Laura was amazing to work with and made the whole process so wonderful. She was patient and understanding with me, and was on top of communication and providing helpful information and making sure I had though of everything (did I consider what time my ceremony was vs how long it would take us to get back to town for dinner reservations, would restaurants in the area be open at that time, inclement weather planning, backup planning, ect). We were from out of state and applied for our marriage license during the time frame that Alaska vital records had been hacked and was having issues processing applications. Laura made sure to check in with us along the way to ensure we were still making progress and helped out any way she could with the stress of making sure we had all of our paperwork in order. As if that wasn't enough, one of our witnesses had an unexpected medical issue and with less than a week from the elopement, we found out he could no longer be at the ceremony with us. Again, Laura jumped right in and told us not to worry, if we needed a witness she could help with that, and not let it stress us out. As for the ceremony itself, she was so professional, kind, and absolutely knocked it out of the park.

When I had hiccups with shipping for an item I wanted to be included in the ceremony, she came up with an alternate option so we didn’t have to cut the tradition from our day. She was wonderful and so supportive of making it everything we envisioned. I am so grateful that we chose her to officiate our marriage. She also was nice enough to bring her boyfriend for bear patrol and the two of them were so sweet to take pictures and video for us that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. They were so sweet and helpful. We appreciated everything they did for us!

Our officiant, Ms. Kerry of Say Yes, was early to the venue to meet us there and we instantly felt comfortable and relaxed with her! The ceremony was perfect. We knew exactly how it would go before we got started. Ms. Kerry read the ceremony beautifully and elegantly. By the time it was over I felt as if we’d met a new friend! She got a table, rocks, fire and a bowl to create a portable fire pit for us on a random mountain that we had picked for our ceremony in Alaska. She was the one who suggested the majestic backdrop of Hatcher Pass for the ceremony. She talked us through the necessary steps to feel safe about traveling during this unprecedented time. Laura gave us advice as we made plans for accommodations and experiences before and after our wedding day. She was professional, kind, and patient in every communication we shared. Before the bid day, we talked about our vision for the ceremony. Laura sent us a draft of the ceremony based on our conversations and encouraged us to ask for changes so the ceremony would be exactly what we wanted, and it was! She even coordinated with our photographer, florist, and witnesses (all of whom we adored) so that he and I could concentrate on one another. Laura took care of the details around filing our license so we knew everything was in good hands as we moved on to our honeymoon. On the day of our wedding, Laura had created an environment in which my husband and I were able to relax, have fun, and truly be in the moment. We could not have asked for anything more. With my whole heart, I recommend Say Yes Alaska if you are planning to be married in Alaska. Laura made our day perfectly unforgettable, and we are incredibly grateful for her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail.

COVID added even more stress!! Laura took the time to talk at length by phone so we could to get to know each other and what we were looking for!
