us. I'm not sure that he even realizes how good he is. I specified a list of genres that I wanted, and he played the best songs out of those genres. Everyone was on the dance floor all night. He knew exactly when to play each song and payed attention to the crowd and what they were liking. We made the best decision hiring him and no matter what party we have in the future, he will be getting a phone call...my sister has even hired him for her wedding! I contacted Ray in February of 2016 and told him I was planning my wedding in 6 months and he told me without hesitation "I'll be there". tart planning my wedding, we instantly went to Rey. From the start, Rey was helpful and informative. On our wedding day, his set up was perfect and our entire ceremony and reception went perfectly. He was even able to get a rather tricky first dance song for us and about halfway through dinner my fiancé decided it was time to party and from that point on, the dance floor was for- SERIOUSLY LIKE 3-4 HOURS OF STRAIGHT DANCING AND FUN! Multiple family members came up after the wedding to us to tell us how great the DJ was. Rey is essentially family and we plan to use him for every single event moving forward!

Many of our guests were commenting throughout the evening of how they loved the music selection in all aspects of the wedding (cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing afterwards). He was fast to respond, knowledgable and helpful about the area, and just all around a pleasure to work with, but he went above and beyond his duties on the day of my wedding. My ceremony started almost a half hour late due to some issues. For Rey? No problem! My venue forgot to put pens out on my guest table, Rey to the rescue! Wedding coordinator suddenly decided to move toasts to right after the first dance instead of during dinner. Rey? I got you covered! He was fun, kept us dancing till the venue basically pulled his plug, and just gave us the best party ever! My guests still say it was the best party they've been to! I just can not say enough about DJ Hurricane Rey and SCJ Events. Do yourself a favor and book them! You will not regret it!!

and very easy to work with. He is responsive to your needs. I met with him a few days before the wedding to go over the day of timeline and of all the songs. He gave his suggestions for music recommendations and gave his opinions on what would work and what wouldn't. The team meets your needs for whatever suits you best. They work around you to please you in any way possible. They went above and beyond to make our day perfect. All the music was provided from beginning to end from ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We had about 125 guests including wedding party. I would say about 75% or more of the entire guest list was dancing the entire time the first song started till the end. The music was phenomenal! By the time the last song hit, no one could believe it was coming to an end. The night flew by so fast and everyone felt as if it had just started. DJ Rey and his team are phenomenal! I would completely recommend them to anyone for any occassion.

When we first me with DJ Rey we went over all of our music tastes and he gave his input as to what works and what doesn’t work. His experience and professionalism were apparent when things at the wedding to go exactly to plan, but no one realized, because he was able to transition and cover up the glitches without missing a beat (literally). Javi! Our only complaint is that some guests told us that they requested songs to be played that Javi never played. We received this complaint from a handful of guests who felt like Javi had his playlist set and was unwilling to change it for guests. Lastly, end the cha cha slide earlier lol, it went on for what felt like 30 minutes. Some guests walked off during it and others were troopers and kept going til the end. We were all relieved when the song ended. I never knew it went on that long!

Our dinner was held inside the Estate and he worked seamlessly with our non-stop dinner service and speech process. He allowed our guests to wander around with the mic and he was so nice to my grandparents when it was their turn to speak. Once the dancing commenced he made sure to keep everyone on the dance floor the entire night! We wanted a mix of oldies, new music, and salsa since we were combining my midwestern heritage with my husband's Cuban heritage. Rey knocked it out of the park. My grandmother even danced for over an hour! I will be using Rey again when my husband and I have kids and I definitely recommend him for any party you want to be a success! Thank you so much Rey, you did an amazing job with the ceremony, flash-mob, cocktail hour, walk-in, dances, and sparkler send-off. You made our wedding personal, fun, and extremely romantic.

we met with them weeks prior to the wedding. The day of the wedding came and Javi was there hours before the ceremony to setup for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We had issues with feisty peacocks at the venue but Javi took it all in stride and ensured that everything went off without a hitch. We cannot stress enough how he kept to the timeline and made sure that we enjoyed ourselves. We had no technical difficulties despite requiring music and a microphone for the outdoor ceremony as well as a separate setup for the inside reception and cocktail hour. Everyone could hear the processional music and the exchanging of the vows perfectly. He really had a great feel for the venue and our wants after only one quick walk-through. As for Javi the DJ, he was incredible. He was able to incorporate our special requests into the flow of music and blended songs really well. He was able to read the crowd and keep people on their feet which is no easy task given the diverse crowd at our wedding. He even surprised us with some karaoke to classic songs which had everyone laughing and having a good time. We highly recommend DJ Hurricane Rey's services and especially DJ Javi! :-)

Everyone raved about how much fun was had. He played music for our ceremony, our cocktail hour & our reception. It all went flawlessly. Our ceremony consisted of 3 songs because we wanted to do a few different things with it and he was on point the entire time. It could not have gone better. He knew when to play what kind of music. Cocktail hour? Not to loud but fun. Reception, quiet music which allowed our guests to not shout over each other to talk and then when the party music started...the party definitely started. He played music that kept everyone on the dance floor. The music he played was perfect as our guests preferences varied greatly. Older, younger, Spanish, English, etc. But I don't think there was a guest that didn't get on the dance floor at least once. Prior to all the excitement and the actual wedding day, DJ Rey made me feel very reassured about his services. We exchanged several emails in which I asked 101 questions and he gladly provided answers to all. He also provided suggestions when I needed them. He never made me feel like an inconvenience which I really appreciated. He strived to provide great service and I couldn't find one thing to complain about... even if I tried looking for it!! lol We highly recommend DJ Rey and as we know from first hand experience, he will NOT disappoint.

DJ Hurricane Rey provided just that, even on the day of the wedding when I needed to make a change for the aisle music, he was on top of everything. Our wedding was intimate with about 40 guests. I am a music lover, and I believe that music creates the ambiance and sets the tone of an event. DJ Hurricane Rey was amazing; I would recommend him to any bride looking for a DJ in South Florida.

e, at my wedding one of my friends who was going to get married two weeks later caught my bouquet and someone other than her fiance caught the garder. After the person who caught the garder put it on her she went and saw her fiance. The DJ recognized the chemistry between the two of them and decided to "do it over the right way". The couple went back to center stage, her fiance took the garder off with his teeth and the crowd was clapping, and hollering. Because of his great instincts DJ Hurricane Rey made what was originally an uncomfortable situation the highlight of the reception. I would recommend him highly to anyone. If you want a worry free reception...HIRE HIM!
