My mom even made a comment that she knew I chose the right photographer because every time she looked over at Ashley she was taking photos left and right, trying to capture every detail. Not to mention we received ~60 sneak photos within a week and all photos in less than 4 weeks (granted our wedding was November, outside of peak season). It was also a bonus that Ashley made us feel so comfortable while taking photos and worked fabulously with our videographer so it made the day a breeze! I cannot recommend Scobey Photography enough...seriously!!!

While my spouse and I have both been in professionally in front of cameras before, we were apprehensive about these photos since they were for such a significant day. We needn't have worried. The Scobeys captured all the shots - both those we knew we wanted and those we were not aware we might desire and we received an incredible gallery with over 500 photos just 3 weeks later. Our location was remote and hard to get to, rough dirt road with lots of twists and turns, and they made it work! So so grateful and highly recommend working with Graham and Ashley. Thanks again! o purchase a more expensive package. They asked us lots of questions to get to know us and what our priorities were for our wedding day. They also helped us figure out the timeline for our wedding day. On our wedding day, Ashley was amazing to work with. She led our rambunctious family through some massive family portraits in a quick and efficient, yet natural and fun way. My husband and I were a little nervous about all the pictures/video that were going to be taken at the wedding. We didn't want to spend too much time doing that, as we thought it wasn't going to be the best way to spend our (very little) time during the wedding. Ashley totally changed our minds - she made it so that our time taking pictures just felt like quality, 1:1 time with each other. WeI felt some of our most relaxed and connected moments while we were outside taking pictures with Ashley. We got all of our photos back very quickly - within a couple weeks - and they are BEAUTIFUL. We love the Scobeys and will absolutely use them in the future for family shoots.

Their approach was focused on creating moments for the two of us to be us -- happy, laughing, enjoying the moment -- and then capturing that for the camera. They are genuine, warm & friendly -- and focused telling the magic of our story in an authentic way that helps us remember how special each and every moment of this day was every time we look back at the photos. We appreciated how they balanced the natural moments of the day, the natural beauty of our venue, while still finding ways to create extra special moments and photos that we'll remember for the rest of time. I was initially really nervous about wedding photography, imagining it would be super cheesy, posed, and saccharine -- Ashley’s work is none of this. The process was fun, spontaneous, bursting with life and authenticity - while also conveying the gravity of the occasion.

One note: If you're considering whether to do an adventure shoot before your wedding or not - I recommend you do! We didn't do one (we are not particularly fond of being photographed and I assumed I'd feel awkward or weird, so I wanted to limit photo time). At our wedding, though, I realized that Ashley and Graham made it fun and natural. So, I would recommend doing an adventure shoot. If nothing else, you'd get to spend more time with them which is a plus!

How natural everything seemed, not forced, or obviously staged. I think from the moment we met them we knew that we need not look any further. apher is pretty much as good as another -- you just take some pictures and that's that, right? Fortunately, my fiancee convinced me to look at what some photographers are capable of doing, and for me, the Scobeys were one of the very few who took things to a level I didn't know was out there. We were thrilled that they were available with only a few months' notice, and things turned out just as we hoped. Graham truly has a gift with lighting, and we got several miraculous shots of the sort I'd never seen before. I've been taking photography lessons for the last couple of months, and I'm fond of taking in pictures from our wedding to ask the instructor how it was possible to get the effects he did. Of course, it's not all whiz-bang -- there are beautiful perspective shots, candid moments, and everything else that makes the day memorable. In terms of logistics, the Scobeys were truly a pleasure to work with -- very communicative, timely, and unobtrusive. My fiancee was concerned about the photographers making people feel awkward on the dance floor, having had that happen at a recent wedding she attended. The Scobeys understood completely, and they were somehow everywhere we wanted them to be, but only when we looked for them. Basically, they're a terrific choice, and highly recommended.

On the wedding day, they were photography ninjas--somehow capturing everything and never getting in the way; yet magically at my side the second I wanted a photo with a certain guest. My husband and I had so much fun with them during our pre and post-wedding shoots (as evidenced by so many photos of us laughing). And the images speak for themselves...the perfect blend of photojournalism, traditional portraits, beautiful pieces of art, and candid moments of emotion. My top piece of advice for brides and grooms: don't settle for anything less than the best for your photography, the most enduring decision you'll make for the wedding day. The Scobeys and their administrative team were on the ball throughout the entire process, which is such a RELIEF when you are juggling a hundred other items on the wedding to-do list. They contacted us about scheduling appointments, they contacted us with a questionnaire about wedding day logistics, and they were always easy to get in touch with on the occasions when we contacted them for something. No chasing them down, no wondering where they disappeared to after the contract had been signed, no wondering if they would deliver on their promises. I can't begin to explain how much I appreciated their professionalism during a time when working with some other vendors felt like herding cats. The Scobeys love what they do, and it shows through their work and through their interaction with their clients. They are a delight to work with, and we recommend them unconditionally.

Since you end up spending your entire wedding day with Ashley and Graham, it was definitely a major plus to have funny, personable, and caring photographers by our side! The extended review: Ashley and Graham are a incredibly creative power couple that are too cute for words. Given the choice, hire both of them. You get two different perspectives and results of a single moment. They love "love." In fact, if you do not decide to hire them for your engagement shoot (which you should), they insist on meeting you out so that they can get to know you and your fiance. They use this knowledge, and it is absolutely evident, to create a "story" with their images on your wedding day. This is why I say you don't necessarily need a videographer. From a budget perspective, ditch the video and invest in hiring these photographers. The photographs were nothing short of stunning. Some of the images they took at our reception have been compared to Vermeer paintings. They range from beautiful black and whites with incredible manipulation of focus, perfect lighting, and on-point contrast. There's too much to say about the color photographs. Above all, the compositions truly show that Ashley and Graham have taken the time to learn, live, breath photography. They know what they're doing. Period. I won't get into their equipment - it's a little over my head, but let me tell you a little about our situation. We had our reception in an incredibly dark, red-lit room (Maison Rouge in Atlanta, GA). The place is run by a very particular owner who refuses to let strobe flash in the room. Ashley and Graham set up modified flash thingies that NO ONE noticed. Not a red-tinted guest to be seen. They met a challenge and succeeded like few photographers can. I could go on (clearly), but if photography is important to you and your wedding experience, you must use them. You will not regret it. Did I mention that as a "thank you" they sent us a framed 8x10. Yeah, they're awesome.
