Scott S. Smith Wedding Photography

NC to join us for our wedding weekend there. He’d never been to Chetola before so he even went out of his way to show up early and explore and familiarize himself with the grounds ahead of time. He also recruited his friend, Richard, from FL who has worked with him multiple times. Together they were quite the dynamic duo and able to cover a lot! Not to mention, their personalities are a lot of fun and we got to share a lot of laughs throughout our time together. I love creative photography and videography, and they definitely were adventurous when it came to getting unique shots and videos! I even had a photo dash during the reception where we ran from table to table to get fast, fun shots with all of the guests and you better believe he and Richard ran with us to each table! And willingly at that! Not to mention, they ran backwards through a sparkler arch in the dark- whatever it took to get the great shots, they were willing to do it! They even ran with some of our silly photo requests and embraced the goofy side of us (as you can see in the some of the photos hehehe)! It rained a lot during our weekend, but they worked with us around the bouts of heavy rainfall and took advantage of when the lighting was just right- the rain didn’t scare them off and they came prepared to photograph and video no matter the weather. They also stole us away several times because Scott and Richard would see a spot with awesome lighting or a scenario that would be super cool and they’d go explore it with us- which I absolutely loved! I wanted a photographer that would do things like this to capture amazing photos and Scott and Richard most definitely weren’t scared to take us on little adventures for epic shots! I have already gotten the photos back (within a few weeks of the wedding) and am absolutely delighted and in love with what Scott has sent us! I’m super excited to see the videography footage once that comes, too! Scott and Richard were overall spectacular to work with. They are the type of people you’d want to hang out and grab a beer with sometime even! Haha! They know how to make you feel comfortable and work with you seamlessly throughout your entire day. I would highly recommend SSS Studio to anyone seeking photography/videography for their special event or wedding day!

His pictures are beautiful, and we couldn't be happier with both the finished product and the service we received. Our last stop was on the pier for sailboats in the background since my husband and he both love sailing. During the ceremony he captured all the great moments and emotion. When the rainbow appeared over the bay after the ceremony, none of us hesitated to climb on the new seawall to capture the moment. We highly recommend him for his local knowledge and creativity.

having a quality, professional photographer was extremely important to me. I wanted someone who could translate the spirit of the day into photographs so that we could share that spirit with our family and friends back home and Scott did just that. I really liked that he was incredibly fast at posting some teasers online so that we were able to share them with everyone the day after our wedding. He also made us feel comfortable which was really appreciative, considering aside from the staff at our inn, we knew no one. If you're thinking about booking Scott, I highly suggest that you do -- he's professional, works in a timely manner, and makes the entire process comfortable and worry-free. I couldn't imagine anyone else other than Scott photographing our wedding!

He worked with my husband and I to get pictures beyond we hoped for because we were going for a classy, old-Vegas style and the pictures are just breathtaking!! I would recommend creating a "list" of must-have photos. We did not do this, and I'm sure it would have helped. All in all, the price was right, and our pictures were delivered in a very timely manner (less than a month).

He wanted a more photojournalistic style where the moments were captured rather than having a whole bunch of posed pictures. He was very happy with the final product as well. My only wish was that I had made a list of family that I wanted to have more pictures of. If I ever have another event in St. Augustine I will definitely use Scott Smith again.

I loved his use of different lenses to make for a unique set of photos, along with his ability to capture the most beautiful candid shots. He even climbed up one of the rope ladders near the sail to capture a picture of our entire group from high above! Talk about going the extra mile! :)
