About Scott S. Smith (Photographer, Filmmaker, Husband, Dad):
Scott is a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience. He holds a degree in photographic technology from the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies and received the Kodak Grant for Documentary Photography. His work is included in the permanent collection at the Southeast Museum of Photography. Scott’s craft was polished as a studio photographer and darkroom technician. He was privileged to learn on set as a photo assistant for National Geographic Magazine and Forbes Magazines. In addition to his photography background, he pursued a degree in graphic design from Flagler College and later became a faculty professor there, teaching studio photography practices and techniques.
Scott has worked with major brands such as Pepsi, Nutella, and Mercedes Benz and has a successful business, SSS Studio, LLC. He recently expanded his operations to serve clients in Northeast Florida and greater Asheville, NC. He divides his time between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the historic town of St. Augustine.
Scott's wedding photography has taken him to capture events in Europe, South America, and all over the United States. He has been featured on TLC's Four Weddings television series and has been published in The Knot and Travel and Leisure Magazine.
Over the past two decades, Scott has worked with over 450 couples and is committed to providing each client with a premier experience, delivering vibrant, well-exposed photographs that capture the true essence of their special day.

We got married a month ago in St. Augustine, Fl and couldn't be more thrilled with our wedding photos. Scott was referred to us because he has an impeccable eye for lighting. He proved himself and we're grateful he captured our natural, beautiful moments. He's also super nice and easy going which made us not stress. I would refer him over and over again! & pay for him to travel to a destination! He's that good!!

Scott and his assistant Jenn did an amazing job shooting our wedding. They were there for the getting ready, first look, ceremony, reception, and send off. They captured every moment and they did it beautifully. There got ever the most sentimental shots of my Dad and I, and the candid ones of my husband and I just holding hands. The photos turned out great, there are plenty of photos to choose from, and Scott is still around helping us design our photo books. He is wonderful and made the day relaxing and enjoyable.

I ordered one of the more expensive packages from Scott for our wedding photography, because it was one of the most important parts of our wedding budget. Scott was so hard working, always looking for a new angle and new thing to photograph in our wedding, that we are finding it difficult to choose from our photos to use in our album. Scott worked so well with us as a couple. We aren't ones that get too hyped up in what is expected by others or what most people do. Scott just went with our flow and was able to capture our spirits and love for one another perfectly. I highly recommend Scott as he is a consummate professional and one that just is able to intuit perfectly what each couple wants and needs.

We got married in a B&B package, and Scott was the photographer the B&B contracted for the wedding. We were able to speak to him before the wedding to describe ourselves and our plan. He stayed longer than required to get all of the pictures we wanted, including trekking across town with all of his photography gear. His pictures are beautiful, and we couldn't be happier with both the finished product and the service we received. Scott didn't bat an eye at any of our "unusual" stuff and he stayed in great contact with us before, during, and after the wedding. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Scott Smith was great to work with for our Wedding pictures. He was very flexible and let us pick various locations for the pictures. We started at a historic musuem with beautiful columns and he guided us through the quaint cobble stone streets selecting various scenic backdrops. Our last stop was on the pier for sailboats in the background since my husband and he both love sailing. During the ceremony he captured all the great moments and emotion. When the rainbow appeared over the bay after the ceremony, none of us hesitated to climb on the new seawall to capture the moment. We highly recommend him for his local knowledge and creativity.

Scott photographed our "weddingmoon"/destination wedding in May 2013 and I couldn't have asked for anyone better! Since none of our family members were coming to Florida with us, having a quality, professional photographer was extremely important to me. I wanted someone who could translate the spirit of the day into photographs so that we could share that spirit with our family and friends back home and Scott did just that. I really liked that he was incredibly fast at posting some teasers online so that we were able to share them with everyone the day after our wedding. He also made us feel comfortable which was really appreciative, considering aside from the staff at our inn, we knew no one. If you're thinking about booking Scott, I highly suggest that you do -- he's professional, works in a timely manner, and makes the entire process comfortable and worry-free. I couldn't imagine anyone else other than Scott photographing our wedding!

Scott and his assistant did an amazing job. They were there on time and went right into planning and organizing. During the ceremony they were at two different locations and continued this throughout the night. We had horrible weather with huge down pours during the evening. As soon as the rain stopped they asked if we wanted to go outside and take bride and groom pictures. The storm clouds in the background are breathtaking. They captured our night. I recommend Scott and his company to anyone.

So literally 1 hour before the wedding, there was an issue with parking when my bridesmaid and I arrived from getting our hair done. Because we still needed to do our makeup and change, etc, he moved my bridesmaid's car for her so we wouldn't be late while his assistant kept right on with the photos, not missing a thing! Everything was perfectly on time and crisis averted! He worked with my husband and I to get pictures beyond we hoped for because we were going for a classy, old-Vegas style and the pictures are just breathtaking!! Included everyone at the wedding so we have the memory of all our guests. And at the end, he drove my bridesmaid to her car!!! Above and beyond! Complete professional!

Scott and his assistant did a wonderful job on my September wedding on St. Augustine Beach. They were very professional and were very creative in suggestions on were to have photos taken and different poses. I only had them take pictures of the ceremony and the wedding party. Wish I'd had them for the reception too!!! I totally recommend them!!!!

Scott was a pleasant photographer to work with - Very professional and had great communication. The overall quality was good, all of the family portraits were there, bride and groom portraits, and he was very professional at the wedding as well. I was slightly disappointed in the lack of detail pictures and bridal portraits. I would recommend creating a "list" of must-have photos. We did not do this, and I'm sure it would have helped.
All in all, the price was right, and our pictures were delivered in a very timely manner (less than a month).

Scott shot our February 2010 wedding in St. Augustine and he far exceeded our expectations! Not only were his photos the most beautiful I've ever seen, but he also was professional, prompt and helpful - making suggestions to ensure he captured all the best moments of our wedding. He was thorough in his prep work, meeting with us a few times before wedding to discuss timelines and structure for the day/night. In addition to the prints, Scott created a beautiful photo book of memories that we keep on our coffee table and EVERYONE comments on how gorgeous everyone looks in the photos. I would recommend Scott 1000 times over!!

Scott and his assistant were hired to capture my sister's wedding. As her sister and maid of honor, who lives 2500 miles away, it was important to me to arrive and see vendors taking care to create her perfect wedding day. Our pictures came out AMAZING!!!!! We had Scott and a 2nd photographer cover our wedding. They were prompt, professional, and a joy to have at the wedding. My husband is a photographer so naturally he was very particular about the style of pictures that were taken. He wanted a more photojournalistic style where the moments were captured rather than having a whole bunch of posed pictures. He was very happy with the final product as well. My only wish was that I had made a list of family that I wanted to have more pictures of. If I ever have another event in St. Augustine I will definitely use Scott Smith again.

Scott was really fun to work with and our pictures turned out amazing. We highly recommend him to any bride looking for a wonderful photographer to capture all of the beauty and emotion on their wedding day. He took the time to make sure he captured all of the important details and took all of the shots my husband and I really wanted to document our special day. Scott made me feel comfortable when I was really nervous and amped up before the wedding. It can be difficult to pose for beautiful portraits just minutes before you walk down the aisle! Scott was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Our reception was on a large Schooner (large sailboat) and he was able to take the most amazing shots of us and our group. I loved his use of different lenses to make for a unique set of photos, along with his ability to capture the most beautiful candid shots. He even climbed up one of the rope ladders near the sail to capture a picture of our entire group from high above! Talk about going the extra mile! :)

Scott over exceeded my expectations and did a fantastic job on my engagement photos. I just got married on November 12th and Scott and his assistant were fantastic! They were fun, energetic and truly cared to capture every moment. They captured every detail and they did have plenty of time for family photos/bridal pictures.
