DJ Scott Shaw did a fantastic job at our wedding in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Scott played all of our favorite tunes and kept things lively and fun at our reception. Our family and friends danced the night away and we couldn't be more happier with the DJ selection we made. Plenty of memories and laughs to share for a lifetime. We highly recommend DJ Scott Shaw as well as the folks at DJ Chris James Entertainment for any special event.

Great DJ. Super helpful with planning. Very involved. Always easy to get ahold of. Not too expensive. Really enjoyed having him as our DJ for our big day.

I have to say dj Scott was great! The manager decided to change my dj the week before so I was a little skeptical but he ended up pulling through and make the party so fun! My friends are quite the dancers and he kept everyone on the dance floor having a great time!

I have to admit that I hate to write a bad review because all in all I was very happy with the service that was provided, however, when I sent in my deposit the check was lost and I called and e-mailed and didn't hear anything for a few days. I sent in the check again but not sure if that was what I should have done... the only other small thing that surprised me was that I was not told until the week before the wedding that we would be having a separate DJ than Scott Shaw himself, we ended up having DJ Steve who did a wonderful job! The website that came up with a time line was very good and I liked that there were options to choose from for songs as I am not a music-savvy person. The photo booth was a big hit! It was closed during the prime parts of the reception such as dinner, speeches and special dances but otherwise was open during the drinks and dancing. There is a separate person that comes with the DJ to run the photo booth so you don't have to worry about guests not knowing what to do. They also put together a custom scrap book of the photo strips for us and sent us a CD with the individual pictures that we could print off at a later date. It is awesome and I loved having the photo booth!!

We had such a fun time with Scott as our DJ.... He was fun and even got my grandparents to dance, which I never thought would happen. It was such a stress free reception knowing he was handling it all!

We are thrilled that we hired Scott Shaw Productions for entertainment/music at both the Ceremony and the reception. What we got was far more than music and entertainment; we also received a flurry of great ideas and peace of mind. Before meeting with Scott my wife and I were overwhelmed with everything that needed to be done. Scott not only helped with getting the Wedding in order including sheets that helped us organize all our vendors and plans, but gave us many new ideas that we had not thought of. We were presented with ways to involve our guests other than just throwing them a fun dance party at the reception. We were shown names of apps that we could have our guests download and games that we could play with our guests. We feel this gave us much more entertainment value and made the guests really feel like they were part of our wedding celebrations rather than just attending them. The music and ambience was great! My wife and I had no idea what we wanted save for a select few songs, so after giving Scott the names of a few songs and bands we had our on Pandora playlists, he was able to pick the perfect songs for each and every moment of the reception. All in all I don't think the wedding would have been nearly as successful as it was without Scott and my family and new in-laws are still talking about how much fun they had and its been three weeks since the wedding.

Scott did a great job with our wedding reception. He was nothing but smiles and positive energy from our first phone consultation. At the reception, all the guests had a wonderful time, and every song he played was one of our favorites, thanks to his online planning forms. I requested many song dedications, and he made sure to mention all of them. We played the Newlywed Game, and the Top Ten reasons the bride and groom belong together, which were really fun! These games brought all the guests together to laugh, and were a charming and personal touch. The entire event felt very intimate, even with 100 guests. My advice is make sure to complete Scott's online forms a week or so before the wedding, and have a phone call at that time to confirm all the important details. There were a few minor things that slipped through the cracks for us because we didn't communicate them clearly. With the craziness of planning a wedding, it's easy for this to happen. So brides and grooms, use those forms- they're there for a reason! Scott did a great job and we would definitely hire him again. Thank you Scott for a great time!

Scott Shaw Productions made our wedding SO fun and memorable! He was there to work with me from start to finish and was extremely organized and on point. The music he played at the reception was exactly what we asked for (and I truly gave him minimal direction). He also incorporated two EXTREMELY fun (and NOT cheesy) games into the reception that everyone loved and complimented for days to come. He is a true professional and I would highly recommend him for your wedding or event. He keeps the guests attention and the party going all night long. Our wedding budget was on the smaller end to the extent that my wife and her friends made most of the decorations themselves, family members provided a dessert bar, and a friend of ours homebrewed our beer selection as a gift. Initially we had planned to just get a friend to basically run an iPod for us to save a little extra cash. Fortunately, our day-of coordinator from the excellent BAO Events was wise enough to heavily urge us to reconsider making room in the budget for a professional DJ. She personally recommended Scott as an affordable and talented host. No lie, it might have been the single best decision in the entire course of wedding planning. Scott is a pro in every sense of the word. Throughout all of our interactions beforehand he was nothing short of the best we could've asked for. We've got slightly more unique tastes for what music we wanted played during dinner and he was happy to oblige every single request, making sure he had any song that was important to us. He also worked with us to make sure everything flowed from beginning to end perfectly. He actually has some elements to his routine that never would've even crossed my mind when thinking about the duties of a wedding DJ. His grand entrance segment turned out to be the most fun part of the wedding I never even expected. I knew that it was pretty standard fare for the MC to introduce the wedding party as they walked in to celebration music of some kind but the way Scott does it was unlike anything I'd seen before. He showed me some samples of his previous work where each wedding party member gets their own little song snippet to go along with a tidbit and match their personality, and then he let me run with it on my own to come up with our own little setlist and intro's. He made sure he had every song down to clockwork, but what really tied it all together was Scott's voice. You can obviously listen to the samples and hear it for yourself, but Scott's voice was made to do this job. It's incredible. Another fun element he included I hadn't expected before he mentioned it as an option was a "Top Ten Reasons Caleb and Laura Should Be Together" list created by our friends and family at the wedding. Scott provided cards for everyone, they provided their reasons and he narrowed it down to a Top Ten for an entertaining segment while everyone was finishing up dinner as a lead-in to the speeches from the Maid of Honor and Best Man. It was fun. Now if all that other stuff wasn't enough to sell you on him, let's talk about the actual dancing DJ'ing Scott did. We have weird tastes when it comes to personal music (i.e. stuff to play in the background over dinner), but for dancing we're pretty standard - save for a major interest in cheesy 90s rap. Scott had everything we like and was great at taking requests from guests to provide a solid 3 or 4 hour dance party that everyone loved. He has a great feel for controlling the mood, keeping the energy high, and giving slow dance breaks as needed in between a huge selection of music everyone clearly loved. Maybe it sounds like I'm using ridiculous amounts of hyperbole throughout this review, but I genuinely don't think our wedding would've been the same without Scott. I've been to more than a few weddings and I honestly believe Scott is the best I've ever heard anywhere. Looking for a DJ may have been the hardest part of planning our wedding from 600 miles away. We had called a number of DJs prior to finding Scott and they either would not return my calls or were just soo off base from the reception we wanted. The first time I talked to Scott on the phone we talked for over an hour and he was 100% on top of everything. He had everything from a timeline for my use if needed to an online site where my husband and I could compile our music requests ahead of time. Scott made our wedding ceremony and reception so much fun and kept everyone entertained while the wedding party finished pictures. He really took the time to get to know who we were, who our wedding party was, and what we wanted our guests to get out of the reception. He was amazing in everyway and made it so everyone from my 5 year old nephew to my 85 year old neighbor enjoyed the music and had a great time dancing. His personal touch to our day was amazing and I'm so grateful we had his services!

Scott was absolutely an amazing DJ at my wedding. He made the entire ceremoney and reception flow together in a beautiful and memorable night. He worked closely with me a couple weeks through email and phone calls and made sure that everything was just the way i wanted it. The night of wedding, he had an incredible little speech when he introduced us as Mr. and Mrs. and it was truly perfect the way he told it as we walked down the staircase. Scott is one of the best DJ's I have ever worked with. He made my wedding so special that I am still hearing great things about his work. He made sure he knew the ins and outs of what we wanted and even went above and beyond to learn about the music stlye we listen to. Because of his expertise and hard work, the dancing was amazing. The environment was so spectacular. He has all of the equipment to make ones day special. I want to emphasize that his equipment is from the 21st Century. I cannot thank Scott enough. 20 stars.

Scott is incredibly organized and entertaining! He created such a memorable day by serving as our emcee and DJ. He kept the night fun and made it flow very nicely. For the price, he did so much - great value! Everyone complimented us on how funny he was! Very happy that we went with Scott.

He was very thorough- a few months before the wedding he met us at the reception site to discuss set up. A few weeks before the wedding we had a phone meeting that lasted over an hour to clarify pronunciation of names introduction order etc. He also gives you access to his online database of over 10 000 songs to create play/do not play lists online.
