As a couple impacted by Covid, we had a tremendously stress-free experience in dealing with Sean to postpone our wedding, which is not something that we can say for all of our vendors. We can honestly say that choosing Sean as our photographer is categorically the best decision we made for our wedding. Seriously, plan your wedding around his availabilities because he is worth it!

for you. We had a FaceTime call and in the middle of it I wrote to my fiance on a piece of paper and slid it to him and it said “I love him!”. Sean started the call with “Hi Friends” and that is how every interaction is with him. After that call we easily knew Sean was a person we wanted to be around and take our pictures, and seeing his portfolio online just solidified it. We felt so comfortable right away, we laughed, we shared stories, and we knew this was the guy to make us feel so comfortable in awkward situations and who would capture the moments of our wedding. We did a wonderful engagement shoot with him during the summer, and I would highly encourage taking advantage of this part of his package because it really did start the relationship with him, getting his flow down, and becoming comfortable in front of the camera/being posed. It was such an easy and fun day and of course we got FANTASTIC pictures that I had a hard time choosing between to print for ourselves. The day of our wedding Sean came with his second shooter Aaron and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. I know they got so many wonderful shots, and Sean loves the detail moments which I also cherish. We had a lot of family mementos and special parts of our day and he took such care in making sure those were captured. They easily integrated themselves into the day and would step forward and help as needed. We chose to upgrade our package and do the Portrait Booth with Sean and I just can’t wait to see those pictures. People really had a great time going over there and interacting with Sean and getting a great picture. Something different that I have not seen before at a wedding. Sean is one of the most genuine, kind, and thoughtful humans I have interacted with and he made all our time together easy and fun and if you have the opportunity to work with him, jump on it!

I was drawn in by the portrait booth, which I knew I had to have, and we decided to just have Sean do all the photography. Best decision ever. He drove out to Chicago for our engagement shoot and honestly we felt like we had a cool new friend after spending a couple hours together and we were excited and relieved knowing our wedding photos would definitely turn out fantastic. And they did—seriously gorgeous. Worth every penny! And shout out to Aaron who served as the second photographer and portrait booth photographer—he has the same amazing attitude and skills. If I could go back in time, I would re-hire Sean a million times.

Before our engagement photo session I was so nervous about being in front of the camera and looking/feeling awkward but that changed within just a few minutes of working with Sean and applying his knowledge and guidance. This confidence in front of the camera carried over into our wedding day for both myself and my husband, and it shows in the photos! I really cannot say enough how fantastic these photos turned out, and I absolutely loved seeing the photos of all our guests in the Portrait Booth! Sean not only acted as our photographer, but at times also acted as a wedding coordinator by keeping us on time and giving us guidance and encouragement throughout the day. I was also extremely impressed with how fast he memorized the name of each person in our 23 person wedding party. Sean is a wonderful and talented photographer, and just an overall great person! I could not be happier to have had him play such an important role in our special day. Thank you Sean!

have any idea where we were going to get married. All I knew was that I needed to have Sean capture our day. A change in plans ended up making our engagement three years long, but I am so glad Sean hung with us to our long awaited wedding day. Our wedding day seemed like a dream thanks to Sean. He is so personable and approachable. My husband and I are not necessarily comfortable in front of the camera, but Sean did such an amazing job making us feel like naturals. He is humorous and super attentive to every detail. Sean was also a hit with all of our guests and we hear comments from our friends and family saying "WE LOVED YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER!". You don't just want Sean, you need Sean. He is so talented and you wont regret your decision working with him at all. He will capture your special day in such a classic and timeless manner that it will last for decades and decades. Sean, thank you for everything you did to make our wedding such a memorable occasion (also, braving the cold on our very chilly January day).

found his work on Instagram early in the planning process and fell in love with the soft quality of all of his photos, but when we talked to Sean on the phone, we both loved his down to earth and friendly nature and also how invested he seemed to be in every one of his couples. We ended up hiring him for my bachelorette party, engagement photos, AND our wedding. On our wedding day, Sean and his assistant were the ones keeping us calm and quite surprisingly doing more organization of our many parts than anyone else. I was told he was handing out waters before our ceremony (a scorching hot day) and also that our flower girl fell in love with him. He suggested that introduction instead of a call, which showed us that he really cared about getting to know us and seeing how we would work with him. We clicked right away, and by the end of our wedding, he wasn't just our photographer, but a guest among all of our other friends and loved ones. Sean has a laid-back and fun personality, but don't let that fool you--behind that, he is incredibly serious about his work. He does his research and has an organized plan for how he is going to approach a shoot. Still, he isn't afraid to improvise when he spots a potentially good shot or to linger when a particular shot is working well. When the unexpected happens, he stays cool and maintains his artistic eye under pressure. As an example, during our engagement shoot, we got stuck in rush hour traffic and were at risk of missing time during the "golden hour" just before sunset. He kept his composure, and even as the sun quickly faded, he captured some of the best shots of the day. What most impressed us about Sean as a photographer was his ability to capture not just the visual representation, but the emotion, of a given moment. His warmth and easy-going approach made us feel comfortable even while he was meticulously planning each shot. He made us feel (and look) at ease and natural doing something fairly unnatural. The result of that is photography that captures a moment, in all of its dimensions, without making it feel altered. Instead of editing out quirks or imperfections, it celebrates them. His photography has a richness and depth through which you are drawn in and can feel the moment it represents. We also appreciate how easy it is to access and share all of our photos. After all, what good would these amazing photos be if they weren't easy to get to? The website has an intuitive interface that works well. So, here's what we got with Sean Cook Weddings. We ended up with photos that don't just remind us of each moment, but take us back there. We were comfortable and had a blast doing it. And the photos are easily accessible so we can relive the moments of our day over and over again.

r wedding was raving about him! He gives excellent direction, is professional and friendly - like an old friend - you immediately get comfortable even when the lense is a foot way from you! Also, he pays attention to all sorts of details and the happenings; at one point I was about to fall out of my chair (groom was chatting with the best man facing away from me, Maid of Honor was chatting with another bridesmaid facing away from me) and out of nowhere Sean was there preventing the most ridiculous flopback in wedding gown from happening - and I wasn't even near the Portrait Booth location. All I can say is, we fell in love with the work we saw on his website, but we loved meeting him more in person. We hope to work with him again. He travels for destination weddings so maybe snag him again and bring him to DC for a shoot. Thank you so much Sean!
