s. I had asked for peonies in my meeting with Bonnie about a month out, and she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to get them for me because my wedding was at the end of peony season. However, Bonnie is magical, and sure enough, there were peonies in my bouquet! I spent the majority of my meeting with Bonnie just getting to know her, and she’s simply amazing! I feel like she could be a friend! My husband says the florals were “just right” and brought everything together in a very tasteful way. My mom brought home the florals from the arch, and they have lasted in her home for weeks!

I enjoyed meeting with Bonnie and seeing her make my visions come alive plus, she let me leave half the deposit amount since it was right around the holidays and funds were tight. That was appreciated. I told Amanda in an E-mail that my bouquets are going to be made by my "Aunt" but I still wanted a garland for my sweetheart table and that I would let her know what else I was going to need from her once we got closer to the date. I was planning on having her do the arch in my ceremony too. WELL, I was then told that they are a strictly "All-Inclusive" florist. I Looked on their website to see where they documented that ( because I was never told that in person) and of course that wasn't stated anywhere. It really felt like just because I wasn't giving her $1,000 anymore (which I would of in other areas just not bouquets) she would spitefully tell me she couldn't do our wedding. She said she wouldn't give me back the $100 deposit. Which I could of fought for that back but with working and school I don't have the time to hunt her down for it even though 100 is a lot of money in wedding planning and I never even signed a contract that locked me into anything, she's very lucky I didn't try to get it back especially on those grounds alone. Instead I will do my part to let future brides know to PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

ers through Bonnie, the owner of Secret Garden Florist. She seemed super great and spent a lot of time with us when we were first browsing florists. The moment we signed on with her though, we felt bullied throughout the remainder of the process. There was a lot of "miscommunications" where Bonnie would say something and then claim she never said it later on. She would ultimately "give in" to what she said first and follow up with phrases like "my beautiful Amanda," which felt incredibly insincere and dismissive. The day of the wedding, there were so many mistakes -- both based on written and verbal agreement. I brought these up to Bonnie after the wedding. I simply told her of my concerns and frustrations and she immediately said she's sending my concerns to her lawyer in case I decided to defame her character. Nothing I ever said was a lie and there was simply no need to do that when I was expressing frustrations. I am convinced this is yet another bullying tactic. To every concern I brought up, and by this point I only switched to focusing on clear blatant errors in the written contract, Bonnie would never address/admit the errors. She would respond with phrases like "I'm sorry you felt that way, but it was beautiful." I don't care if she felt they were beautiful, the fact is they were not what was agreed upon and we were not delivered what we paid for. She sent me a small check ($68) for something I guess she felt was worthy of a refund. However, this check was for something so minor that didn't even begin to cover the contractual errors. When I expressed frustrations with this as well, she said no other refund was warranted and never responded further. There were so many errors to the point where I considered taking the business to small claims. However, because I live 10 hours away and am in school, this would not be a realistic, feasible, or wise use of my time. I would be very cautious in booking Secret Garden Florists for any weddings based on my negative experience. No one wants to experience sadness on there wedding, but my arrangements were a huge point of disappointment. No one to receive a follow up to their concerns, as they are just starting out in marriage, leaving them felt dismissed and defensive. Yet that is how I was left feeling. I know this business is active about responding, but at this point it doesn't matter how they wish to address this. I have the written contract to prove all of the errors. I have the emails and texts to show the dismissive and passive aggressive attitude I received. Nothing I am saying is a lie or "defamation of character." Nothing they can say will fix the way I felt on my wedding day and the way I felt during the beginning of my marriage.

From the first meeting Bonnie showed she was incredibly knowledgeable about all the flowers from the photos I found online. She proceeded to set, then exceed, all of our expectations as the flowers at our wedding were even better than we hoped for. Even the pieces we brought home lasted almost a week after the wedding. We could not have been any happier with our decision to have Bonnie and the extremely capable staff at the Secret Garden Florist work with us for our special day.

ed a while. When it was time to pick a florist for our wedding I followed them on facebook and really liked their style and decided they would be the florist for us. I was confused by the process laid out on their website so I decided to stop in one Saturday morning on my way to the grocery store. I explained myself to the girl at the counter who tried to book an appointment for me; everything she had was during the week at 11am. I work a full time job in Poughkeepsie so obviously that wasn't going to happen. After struggling for what seemed like forever to find something that worked for the both of us, the owner Bonnie came out from the back and said she'd sit with me right now- awesome! I told her my vision and she definitely understood what I was looking for. I was only ordering bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and petals for the flower girls and I thought the price was great (I cannot say if the prices were good for centerpieces). Because I was not having the florist set up anything, I scheduled for my father to pick them up and was told they open at 10 but could accommodate him earlier if needed- wonderful! This is where everything went downhill. Unexpectedly my father had a terrible accident that landed him in a wheelchair and he had to go straight to the hotel as none of our homes could accommodate him. Because Bonnie originally told me they would work with my father on a pick up time I assumed the same would go for my sister who would now have to pick them up. I asked for a 6:30am pick up as she needed to be to the hotel for hair and makeup by 8 and was told no, "we have families". Definitely not the answer I was expecting from a 5 star florist during a serious emergency 2 weeks before the wedding. Bonnie offered delivery for $275, almost half of what our flowers cost so that wasn't happening. She also offered to let us pick up the flowers at 3pm the day before (we couldn't because our rehearsal was at 2pm at the resort) which I did not like because when I originally booked her she said I shouldn't take the flowers the day before because I ordered a cascade and it would fall apart- but now apparently it's ok to take it. We decided that my now husband would leave the resort on our wedding day, drive an hour to Montgomery, pick up the flowers and drive an hour back. We asked if 9am was ok so that he would have enough time to shower and get dressed before our photographer arrived and Bonnie answered yes. About an hour later I received another email saying sorry we don't open until 10am and why don't you just pick up your flowers the day before at 3pm. At this moment I lost it and wanted to fire them and find someone else. I passed the job onto my husband because I knew I'd start getting nasty with them. He stopped in to speak with Bonnie but she was not in that day. For the next 2 days he called and each day was told she was not in but would be there tomorrow and he would leave messages asking for her to call him back. On the fourth day he stopped in again and spoke with a young girl and made arrangements to pick the flowers up at 9:30 with her. On our wedding day, he drove by at 9:30, of course no one was there. He finally got the flowers and drove back to the resort. I received them and the bouquets were GORGEOUS and exactly what I was looking for. The corsages were nothing what we discussed but beautiful nonetheless, they even had a beaded bracelet instead of the elastic ribbon typically on corsages. Then I saw the boutonnieres and new immediately they would not last. The looked crushed and petals were about to start falling off. I understand they were a rose but I've seen more delicate flowers last as boutonnieres. And I was right- they didn't last. Seconds before we were to walk down the aisle my grandfather's fell apart and he walked down with greenery attached to his jacket. I received some sneak peak photos from my photographer and the boutonniere on the groom looked like it was from last week. There were rose petals all over the dance floor from the rest of the boutonnieres just falling apart. Very disappointed. So in conclusion, the flowers were beautiful and quality was mostly good. Customer service was great when booking but lousy towards the end. When I did HR for a medium/large retail business in the area we taught the 16 year old new hires that we should do anything for our customers because they pay our bills and we are there to serve them. One bad review because of one cashier having a bad day could spread like wildfire and destroy a business. Everyone talks about how we should shop local and forget big business but the customer service I received towards the end from Secret Garden has stopped me from ever shopping with them again. Again, not the service I expected from a 5 star florist. If thinking about booking with them make sure you get delivery or have no unexpected accidents occur because pick up is 10-3 period.
