Patrick was an awesome DJ! Selective Sounds was overall a great company to work with. Very timely on responses and great customer service.

Jordan at Selective Sound was amazing! He got all of our details just right and there was never a moment where the dance floor wasn’t packed. 10/10 would recommend!

We had the absolute best experience with Selective Sounds and DJ Patrick! I was pretty particular about music and Patrick absolutely knocked it out of the park! He was incredible to work with and had the perfect timing of music all night. That was the top compliment we got at our wedding was how AMAZING our music was! 100000% recommend!!!

Selective Sound was the absolute BEST! Jay R was our DJ and he was incredible. We had my daughter's wedding at The Barn at Mapleside Farms 2-24-24. He was attentive and super easy to work with. I had zero stress because he had everything covered. I had so many guests compliment the DJ. Our dance floor was packed from start to finish and he was a wonderful MC. Can not say enough about their service and performance. Highly recommend!

It was simply delightful to work with Jay and Patrick (DJ) from Selective Sound. Both were so endlessly helpful, super approachable, and were quick to respond for any logistics. Both of their many years of experiences in the wedding industry made my wedding flow so smoothly.

DJ Rich did an amazing job at our wedding. He met with us before hand and gave a lot of input for our music selection. He played exactly what we asked him to and he also played some great songs that got everyone on the dance floor. His experience made the flow of the evening go well. We couldn't of asked for a better DJ for our wedding! We also added on the photobooth package which was a huge hit with all of our guests! The booth was run very smoothly and the pictures turned out great.

Danny did such an excellent job with music for our wedding ceremony and then DJ'ing our exception. He had everyone up dancing. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Selective Sound was absolutely incredible to work with! The fact that everything we wanted in our ceremony and reception was available through them made it so stress-free! We booked DJ, string quartet, indoor fireworks, uplighting, spotlighting, photobooth and it all went off seamlessly! DJ Mike was amazing and we received so many compliments about him! From the initial conversation with Jay, I knew I would be in good hands with selective sound. Closer to the wedding I did feel some stress because I hadn't heard too much from DJ Marcus. Turns out, I was being an over-stressed bride because he CRUSHED it. Our dance floor was going all night long. There was not a moment we're it looked empty in the slightest. He kept the good vibes rolling and everyone had a blast!!

Patrick was the perfect DJ in every way possible! He took the time to talk with us on the phone multiple times to make sure all of our questions were answered. He was extremely professional, yet fun during all of our interactions. He played great music, and we received several compliments on his song choices throughout the night! Highly recommend!!!

DJ Rich was absolutely fantastic! He took all of our requests for songs to play and accommodated all of our requests while mixing music that kept everyone on our dance floor all night long. We could not be happier with the level of service and professionalism.

Highly recommend Selective Sound!! The team was super professional, very sweet and went above and beyond to create the best experience for our wedding day. From the ceremony strings to the list of must-play & do not play... They made sure to do everything with perfection and with ease. The best!!

We had DJ Rich from Selective Sound Entertainment for our wedding and he was amazing! He met with us in person so he could get to know us and made sure that the big decisions on music were left up to us. There were some last minute changes and he made sure everything happened perfectly. We trusted him to fill in gaps where we didn’t have specific music requests like before the ceremony while guests were arriving, cocktail hour, and dinner and his experience truly showed because everything was great. We got so many compliments on the ceremony music and the reception music! We told Rich that we wanted people on the dance floor all night and that’s exactly what happened. Rich read the room and played to the crowd. We also got a photo booth through selective sound as well - they made sure they had an employee there running the photo booth and putting all of the photos in the album for us. People had such a great time doing that as well. We truly would not have changed anything. We have a couple friends getting married soon that have chosen selective sound as well and they are even more comfortable in their decision and we would recommend DJ Rich to anyone who asks! Jay R was SO helpful from start to finish with all of our wedding planning. He knew our wedding venue well so he was able to help me plan for things I was completely unaware of. He was so easy to work with when I wanted to add a photo booth to our package towards the end of planning and answered all of my emails very quickly. Marcus was our DJ and everyone at our wedding loved him. He helped me plan the entire day and worked well with the timelines I had from other vendors. Our photo booth tech was also great, he put up with my friends all night and was super helpful with small kids trying to take pictures. Being able to accomplish so many things through one vendor was amazing.

DJ Danny was paired with us and it was great. We are a queer couple. I am very alternative. Both my husband and I are very diverse with music. DJ Danny helped us make our wedding night for our love of music as well as through the ages for all our family and friends to enjoy as well. He also listened to my extensive "no list" unless there was a special request then we agreed to let it slide. I didn't want Cotton Eye Joe playing at our wedding. Everything was great. He made extra effort to last minute change some things as well. He also double checked information to not mispronounce names. Lastly, we just felt very confident in him as our DJ.

We hired Selective Sound for DJ and up-lighting for our wedding at Tenk West Bank in May 2022. I was super nervous/picky about hiring a DJ because I've been to weddings where the DJ really doesn't know what they're doing and it makes the day pretty chaotic and unpleasant for guests. We could not have had a better experience with Selective Sound! Jay R was super approachable and very easy to work with in the early days of planning. He answered the many questions I had without pressuring me to purchase anything I didn't want or have the budget for. We ended up doing a 32-piece uplighting at our venue and it totally enhanced the space (as Jay said that it would!). On wedding day, our DJ was Marcus. We loved Marcus!!! Marcus was super thorough and made me feel totally at ease. He was cool as a cucumber the whole night and I knew that our wedding was in good hands. The dance floor was SUPER important to my husband and I. We've got a lot of big dancers in our group and we really wanted modern music while also saving some space for oldies for our parents. Marcus had the perfect blend and he really kept us hyped until the very last song! We received a ton of compliments about the energy of our day and that had a lot to do with Marcus! Wedding entertainment can make or break your day. Marcus and Selective Sound made ours incredible and we are so grateful!!

Selective Sound (DJ RICH!!) was our DJ at Whitehall Columbia and made our music dreams come true! They say music and food can make our break your wedding and Selective Sound and Driftwood Catering is the ULTIMATE combo! All night everyone kept asking “where did you find this DJ?!” He was so attentive during our consultation, the ceremony music was perfect, and he was so accommodating to build whatever play list we needed. I can only hope that we can work with Selective Sound and Rich in the future!

WOW, what a wonderful DJ we found in Devin! He rocked my son's 9-26-21 wedding right off the bat...broke out the LOVE SHACK (my request lol!!) first thing and EVERYONE poured onto the dancefloor! He continued to play great hits for all the demographics present, and kept the party rolling. There was never a lull...actually later into the night, I looked around and there were only 2 people sitting at the tables...the rest of us were rocking it out on the dance floor. Folks called and texted the following day saying they had never had so much fun at any wedding!! Thanks Devin, for a stellar memorable night!

DJ Patrick was unbelievably amazing in our wedding night. Went above and beyond! Would highly recommend to anyone. Planning was a breeze, our night was perfect. We had everything we asked for and more!

We’re so happy we went with Selective sound for our wedding! They are organized, attentive, professional and experienced. We had DJ Rev Dev and he was so much fun and killed it! Our dance floor was a hit all night which was exactly what I wanted. One of the most important things at your wedding is an amazing DJ and this company and our DJ Devin did not disappoint! I highly recommend them!

Jay R and the team were great to work with. They supplied decor, lighting, a photo mirror, and cryo for our big day. Everything looked stunning on our day. Lights, the ambiance, the chandeliers, all elevated everything to the next level. I was so impressed by the lighting in the room. The only thing keeping us at a four star instead of five, was that we had quick responses from Jay R, but when we were assigned our DJ, the communication was poor, and that did not make us feel important at all, especially for paying 11k for everything. Overall, I am impressed with SSE - they were fantastic to work with and their team made sure we were ready to rock and roll on our big day - that meant a lot to us.

DJ Danny was very professional and organized. We appreciated him taking time getting to know us and going through each detail of the event very thoroughly. Danny gave us good suggestions for our wedding timeline and music selections. We were very happy with how everything sounded from the ceremony until the end of the reception. Our guests and us had so much fun dancing the night away!!

Fantastic! JayR kept things direct and to the point..he helped to ensure everything went smoothly. If you can, request DJ Danny - he was phenomenal..followed our timeline, checked w us when he had questions. He wanted to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted it. Really pleased!

DJ Rich with Selective Sound absolutely KILLED it for our wedding!! He listed to everything we wanted and he did not disappoint, very professional setup, beautiful up lighting, he was a great MC but not overbearing and literally kept the dance floor packed all night! We had the most fun wedding ever and a lot of it was because of DJ Rich!

I highly recommend working with SSE! We had Patrick as our DJ & Nick as our photo booth tech and they were both absolutely wonderful. Patrick was so responsive to the a million questions I had, was so organized, and played all our must play songs. Our guests really loved our DJ. As for our photo booth, Nick was great! He helped our guests navigate the photo booth. 10/10 recommend getting the “mirror” photo booth. It was a huge hit!! Thanks SSE for everything!

As he can attest, Jay R was much more than a DJ for me. His experience in the wedding industry was invaluable. He was like a mini-wedding planner. Admittedly, I took on a lot as a bride. (I recommend to reduce stress everyone should probably get a wedding planner). At our first few meetings, I certainly was not prepared. Jay's questions of "well who is doing this?" or "who is doing that" really helped me think of aspects I had never even considered! By the end I felt much more prepared. I also had no idea how lighting worked, but Jay and his team were absolute pros. Our wedding was absolutely stunning with the additional bistro lights over the dance floor, and the numerous chandeliers throughout the tent or out in the trees! Day of I felt at ease because he helped guide the way. He was never once pushy, always checked with us asking if we were ready to move on to the next item. Because of all our prep work he didn't feel like a stranger by the time the big day came. So very happy we were able to connect! Highly highly recommend!

Selective Sound did a phenomenal job! We absolutely loved having DJ Patrick as our MC / DJ for our wedding day. We are truly thankful for his professionalism and attention to detail. Jay R and his team are amazing! They did the lighting for my daughters October wedding and I couldn't recommend them enough. After covid had other plans for my daughters wedding we had to move her reception to her backyard. I knew I wanted it to feel as much like a wedding venue as I could. I hired Jay R and his team to do the lighting for the tent and he didn't disappoint. He was super responsive to all my emails and questions, had great suggestions and quickly accommodated any changes I wanted to do. It turned out so beautiful I was blown away. If you need lighting for your venue hire Jay R and Selective Sound you will NOT regret it!!! Thank you Jay R

I cannot say enough about Selective Sound Entertainment’s crew! Brian was my DJ and he was phenomenal! He was quick to respond, put my mind at ease, and handled the ceremony and reception beautifully. Everyone raved about the energy in the room. I also used their amber uplighting for the ballroom and it was gorgeous! I decided to also add on a photo station. So glad I did! It was a huge hit and the photo tech was incredibly helpful and polite. I would highly recommend this team! Thanks for making my wedding unforgettable.

Jay R and Selective Sound Entertainment were the best partners in town for 'LIGHTING, SOUND AND SET UP'. They offer so many services, making your day so easy and effortless. There customer service is not met and helped with ideas of lighting and sound set up. Their team met us at our venue and assured us a hassle free day. They are very professional and know all the details regarding lighting and sound perfection. They helped us navigate through Covid and these types of vendors that are warm, flexible and understanding will be around for a long time. I am truly appreciative for their help! FIVE STARS.

We had a DJ, lighting, strings trio, and photo booth through Selective Sound. Jay R was always extremely responsive and worked with us through every detail. DJ Patrick ran our reception and was great! He spoke with us multiple times prior to our event to make sure our day went the way we wanted it to.

Through our venue we had to use Selective Sound which made me nervous since I did not get to select them but I am SO GLAD that we had them! Jay R and Patrick were so easy to work with. They would respond to emails quickly and professionally. Patrick was our DJ and he understood exactly the music we wanted to hear during our wedding! As a surprise to me, he played the Bowling Green fight song which made me and all of my college friends so happy! We also had a photo booth through them and it was so worth it! I love receiving a photo album with everyone's pictures and sweet messages inside. It's a wonderful souvenir from our wedding that we got to take home that night! I would HIGHLY recommend going with Selective Sound as your DJ/Lighting company!

This review is specifically for Jay R of SSE. Jay R is a 10/10 because I literally can't think of anything I'd change about our experience. A few of our wedding guests mentioned that the music volume was just a touch loud, but I thought it was perfect, considering the event (and I have sensitive hearing!). Some things we especially liked: - Jay R was extremely responsive via all forms of communication - Jay R was perfectly accommodating of our requests, but he was also real with us (in a way that was polite yet clear) about the things that, in his experience, typically 'work' for weddings -- something we newbies really appreciated - It was such a relief to have Jay R for our ceremony, which went perfectly; his mic-jobs (two lapel mics, one on a stand) were perfect and discreet - True to his word, Jay R vamped one of our processional songs with a smooth crossfade that probably zero people noticed - Jay R didn't just care about getting his own job done and getting outta there; he seemed to have all vendors' itineraries in his head at once -- he was essentially our point man for the entire evening, for all things, not just music (and in that way, he partly helped us to plan the wedding!) - The extent to which Jay R interacted with the crowd was just right -- I wouldn't have asked for any more or any less - One of our favorite things: we made a lot of Play-If-Possible song requests that probably weren't very wedding-friendly (e.g. the full studio version of Richard Harris's "MacArthur Park"), but Jay R managed to play a truly amazing percentage of them, and all at the perfect moments - Jay R was immediately responsive to the movements (as it were) of the dance floor; he'd start a song and, if it wasn't catching, smoothly beatmatch it with another song and move on - To top it all off, Jay R has a cheerful personality and a great sense of humor!

Our DJ, Jay R, from Selective Sound absolutely crushed it! He was very professional to work with but also a lot of fun. Super responsive to any request we had, very knowledgeable and experienced, and he listened to what we wanted. Our dance floor was packed basically the entire night! I honestly couldn’t be happier with our experience. If you’re looking for a DJ who will listen, adapt to what you want, and most importantly throw an awesome, professional party then I would highly recommend Jay R and Selective Sound. 10/10!

We used Selective Sound for our October wedding and would recommend them a thousand times! They provided the lighting and DJ services. Our DJ, Brian, was so great to work with. He was professional, personable, and kept the night going smoothly. Our venue was Cleveland City Hall which has extremely high ceilings making the acoustics a little tricky. He went above and beyond to make sure the speakersand microphones were so clear for both the music and speeches. We also got SO many compliments on the lighting as it set the tone for the evening. Overall, Jay R, Brian, and everybody else at SSE was very helpful and accommodating.

My experience with Selective Sound was phenomenal! My Husband and I had the pleasure of working with Jay R and Marcus (who was our actual DJ). Both of whom were easy to work with and were 100% invested in how to make our wedding day everything we wanted and more. Prior to the wedding, Marcus made sure that all of the music and timelines were accurate and planned. We live in Columbus so he did not hesitate to Skype us at anytime of the day that worked best for us. At the ceremony and reception the music was PERFECTLY timed and everyone was up dancing once the reception started, even the elderly attendees who don't like to move much. We received compliments from all of our guests about Marcus and we highly recommend them for any event that is in need for DJ services.

Selective Sound is absolutely AMAZING! Jay R was so responsive and professional during the booking and planning process. He was able to match a videography package that would cover all the important events of the day! DJ Rich kept the dance floor full all night long. He even kept the father-daughter dance song a secret since my dad wanted to have a little surprise for me! It was the best wedding ever. We will always recommend Selective Sound!

Mike B was our DJ for our wedding a little over a month ago. not only was he so easy to work with, he was personable and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. The dance floor was packed the whole night and we had so many complements during and after our wedding! We would highly recommend Selective Sounds and Mike B!

My husband and I got married in August and hired selective sound for our DJ services for ceremony & reception, and up lighting. Devin M was our assigned DJ and he was absolutely OUTSTANDING! He was so easy to work with. We were super busy moving into a new home and working before the wedding that he let us FaceTime him for our visit and it was perfect. We gave him a few songs that we wanted played but otherwise let him do his thing and everyone continues to tell us how great he was!! No one wanted to leave the dance floor. As far as the uplighting goes, selective sound made my reception venue look incredible and gave it such a warm romantic feeling! We couldn’t have been happier hiring selective sound & highly recommend Devin to anyone!

Selective Sound was wonderful. We had our ceremony/reception at Whitehall and this was the DJ required at the venue. From the initial set up with Jay R to our meeting with DJ Danny C. Everything was executed flawlessly. DJ Danny perfectly timed the bridal party and more importantly my entrance into our ceremony perfectly. He was very involved from the start and had great recommendations to make the evening fun. All of our friends and family had such a great time and we are so thankful he was our DJ!

I wanted a band for my wedding. SSE partners with Rock the House Live party band. The band members were very talented and the MC that came along was great, as well. HOWEVER, I wasted so much time picking out songs, at the instruction of Jay R, for the band to play. Jay R sent me a long list of all the songs the band can play, and I picked out 8 must-play songs as well as over 20 "play if possible" songs. I was under the impression that the band would work them into the set list and I spent so much time deliberating on which songs to add to my list for the perfect night of music. I even made clear notes for which songs I wanted the band to play and which songs I wanted the DJ to play. Well, the band made absolutely zero effort to incorporate my "play if possible" songs, and instead, the only songs that I actually wanted to hear on my wedding were seven must play songs. I received NO communication indicating that the band would not be playing the songs in which I clearly marked BAND. You can imagine my shock and disappointment when on the day of my wedding I had to dance to songs I don't even know. What a waste of time. Why send the list of all the songs the band knows if they are not going to play them? To top things off, while the DJ was trying to solve this catastrophe a text popped up on his phone from JAY R saying "Let me guess... the band opened up the dance floor and the bride is upset because they're not playing her songs." How unprofessional Jay R. Clearly this issue has happened several times in the past since you were so able to "guess" what the problem was. How about a warning to not waste my time picking out my favorite songs? I also wish you reached out to me to apologize for your poor communication and lack of professionalism. In summary, my experience with Selective Sound Entertainment and specifically Jay R was my least favorite thing about my wedding. My advice for Jay R is to tell brides to pick 8 must play songs, and trust the band after that instead of making it seem like we have any say beyond that.

Selective sound and DJ Danny were amazing to work with for our wedding day! Danny corresponded with us frequently in the days and weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure that every thing was exactly how we wanted it. Our wedding went off without a hitch and people were raving about how great the DJ was! The dance floor was packed all night and we were thrilled! Also his idea for a lottery ticket toss was amazing! Would recommend this company to anyone!!

I am so thankful I chose to go with Selective Sound! I can't imagine my day going as perfect as it did without them. Marcus was hands down absolutely amazing. Not only did he listen to what I wanted but he exceeded my expectations. Everyone was out on the dance floor ALL night long. People continue to ask me who my DJ was because they all loved him. Selective Sounds is amazing and so easy to work with. JayR is so helpful and you can really get an amazing deal when you book multiple services. We used selective sounds for our uplighting including extra bistro lighting, ceremony music and reception music. We were SO happy with our DJ Devin at the wedding! He absolutely captured what we wanted and kept everyone on the dance floor the entire evening. We didn't want the night to end! The uplighting was beautiful and really made the reception hall look so elegant. I would highly recommend this company. They had the best prices as well for the services provided!

Marcus was excellent. He exceeded all of my expectations and I fully understand why he is the most requested DJ with SSE. I have received so many compliments on his work, particularly to the volume. My family and I were at a wedding last May and the acoustics were horrific. You could not even understand the father of the bride speech. It was honestly so sad, and I felt awful. I am so elated to of been able to work with Marcus. He went above and beyond for me. He was always EXTREMELY responsive and could not have been more of a class act. His level of professionalism and wonderful service is what all DJ’s should aspire too. Furthermore, I personally feel that any DJ who is just starting out would be privileged to train under Marcus. Marcus is kind and makes you feel like an immediate friend. The level of engagement between him and the guests is off the charts. I am honored to say that Marcus Jordan was apart of the best day of my life and will recommend him, and SSE to any person who asks. It could not have been any more perfect.

We hired Selective Sound Entertainment for our wedding in July 2019. We very much enjoyed the services that were provided and the cost was very reasonable. We met with Jay R at Selective Sound to go over our initial plans. Jay R was amazing and had answers for all of our questions. He even steered us away from adding on services to our order, which in turn meant less revenue for them. This just told me that this is a vendor that I can trust and that they truly have their clients at heart and not just making money. Once we officially hired them as our DJ, Devin Moore was provided as our formal DJ. Devin was incredible! We had an initial phone call with him to go over our plan as we got closer to our wedding date. We even had a happy hour meeting a couple weeks before just so we could meet in person and get a feel for each other. The day of the wedding, Devin was incredible and kept people on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG! The sound was great, the songs were great and the interaction with the crowd was impeccable. I strongly recommend Devin Moore and Selective Sound Entertainment for all of your entertainment needs!

Patrick K. was an awesome DJ and was an even better event coordinator for our wedding. He went way above and beyond his duties as DJ and made sure that the entire wedding party was comfortable, in the right places, and happy with their food and drinks. He even did minor dry cleaning duties and cleaned up a stain on my husband's tux just minutes before the ceremony began!! I actively highly recommended Patrick to others. He made a stressful day significantly less stressful, and for that I am grateful. Five stars all the way.

We are so happy we picked Selective Sound as our MC/DJ for our wedding! Marcus was the best! He had experience in our venue (Tenk West Bank) so knew exactly what we needed. Really impressed by SSE. They were professional the whole way through. Our wedding had lots of music requests and specifics on music timing (i.e. wanting specific parts of songs for specific times), and did it all perfectly. Our DJ Devin was responsive to all of our questions and requests, and executed flawlessly. Highly recommend if you’re doing your wedding at the Old Courthouse as they know the venue and the acoustics very well. Also, the additional uplighting made the beautiful space stand out even more.
