We had our wedding at The Senate Garage in October 2016 and it was the most perfect day. April and Judy were amazing and helped to make sure our special day went off without a hitch. Day of, April helped to coordinate all of our vendors, and ensure everything was just as we had discussed. I highly recommend the Senate Garage. We received so many comments from our guests about how much they loved the space and how unique it was. Thank you Senate Garage! -Nicole & Ryan
What an incredible venue! We had the great fortune of finding the Senate Garage when it first opened and were able to book our wedding 5 months later. We first met the owners who showed us the venue and we fell in love. It is unique and you can make the space truly reflect you as a couple. It does involve more work but the result was totally worth it. They have a projector so we had a photo slideshow going during the wedding which was a really cool and personal touch. April was so helpful in making herself available to come and see the space and working with our wedding planner on logistics. It’s a perfect space that can comfortably hold a very large group but also not feel empty with a smaller one. The bridal suite is also special with vintage furniture and a private bathroom. We rented the outdoor grounds through the Senate House and had our ceremony outdoors under a tent. The grounds are beautiful and the old stone buildings and trees make for a truly incredible setting and amazing pictures. Our guests were blown away and we had the most perfect wedding at the Senate Garage.
My husband and I recently had our wedding at The Senate Garage, and we could not have asked for a better venue. Here are some of the reasons why you should consider booking the Garage: April T. is fantastic as the event coordinator, and will do anything to make your day perfect; the space is essentially a blank canvas for you to decorate as you please for your day; it's spacious yet not cavernous; you can also book the adjacent Senate House grounds for additional outside space; and it's situated in the heart of downtown Kingston with its great shops and restaurants. The Garage is a great alternative to what we called "wedding factories," so if you're looking for something more unique as we were, I encourage you to make an appointment to see this space.
We had our wedding at the Senate Garage in August and it was truly wonderful. We were married outside in the Senate House grounds and had cocktails outside, and the reception was inside. The Senate Garage is a great space with a lot of different options to utilize. We were so happy with how everything turned out!
We got married her September 10th 2016 and had a positive experience with the Senate Garage! We had our ceremony inside, cocktail hour outside and went back in for the reception. Between the outdoor space (owned by the Senate House-which is part of the NYS Parks Dept) and the Senate Garage there are alot of options for how you plan your wedding. We were able to really transform the space with florals and greenery and they really let you have a blank slate to do what you want, with very few rules. They were lovely to work with and answered all of my many questions in a timely manner.
My husband and I were married at the Senate Garage on October 9th, 2016 and we could not be more happy with our venue selection. We were able to have the ceremony outside with the original Senate house ( 1676 ) as our back drop. The reception space inside comfortably housed all 135 of our guests with plenty of space for dancing, catering and even a photobooth! The inside space is rustic/industrial, complete with Edison lighting and exposed brick walls which needed very little decoration. We were able to have a caterer of our choice, (Frank Guidos Little Italy) who made use of the downstairs kitchen space and really helped bring everything together. I would definitely recommend The Senate Garage to friends and family looking for a unique event space - -
YOWZA - SUPREME! We held our nonprofit fundraising event, Celebrate Community, at the Senate Garage in June 2016. IT WAS FANTASTIC! We had the most positive feedback on this venue in our 14 years holding the event. April Tiberio was my point person throughout, and she helped keep me on track with paperwork and thinking through logistics of using the Senate Garage space. She and Carl served as our liaisons the night of the event, helping troubleshoot a few glitches that could have derailed our evening. They provided honest direction and guidance in setting up the venue, securing the optional Senate House grounds (separate entity from the SG), and helped us get our audio, visual and catering needs in place. They were a pleasure to work with: professional, personable and amenable. Our event hosted roughly 250 people but there was room for plenty more! I have since been to two events by other organizations (HVTech Meetup and the Ulster County Chamber mixer) both with capacity attendance that didn't feel crowded in the space. Kudos to Don & Judy Tallerman for transforming this underutilized space into an uptown Kingston asset. With detail to energy efficiency, meeting-host technical needs, and a catering facility, the Senate Garage is a cool, hipster space to hold your special event. We had such a good time this year, we've already booked our 2017 Celebrate Community event! Looking forward to working with the SG team again. PS ~ Our guests were curious about the space, as it had not yet been open to the public - I believe RUPCO's Celebrate Community was the first nonprofit event held there. We're thrilled to be a part of the SG history, of which there is much in the books but much more awaiting to be made at the corner of Clinton and North Front Street.
We had our September 24th wedding at the Senate Garage and it was stunning! The space is versatile and gorgeous, the attention to detail and care that the owners took into its restoration is very evident throughout. We had our ceremony inside,. rented the lawn which is part of the NY State, went out to the lawn for cocktail and then back into the venue for the party. It was a perfect mix of indoor/outdoor, with plenty of room (we had 115 guests) to be creative with our layout. As the bride I especially appreciated the separate lounge with private bathroom. This is where I also had hair and makeup done. It was so convenient. The owners and event manager, April, were attentive and incredibly kind. April answered our countless questions promptly and thoroughly. If you are looking for a stunning industrial space in the Hudson Valley, look no further!!
The minute we walked in to the Senate Garage we knew it was the perfect venue. The setting is so beautiful and the staff is incredible -- warm, welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The backdrop to our wedding -- inside and out -- was perfection.
The Senate Garage was perfect for our purposes - spacious, elegant, perfectly atmospheric, and in a fantastic location. The space allows for an incredible amount of versatility and really allows you to mold it for your needs. At first, we were a little intimidated by the size of the space, but were assured that it didn't swallow up even small groups. We were perfectly comfortable with 200 guests spread over audience seating, ten-top tables, and high tops. We had to do next to nothing to make the space feel incredibly elegant and chic, which is a huge bonus when there are so many other things to worry about. I could go on and on about the details, but ultimately we were completely satisfied with the Senate Garage and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
We had a great experience working with April and the Senate Garage. The venue was absolutely beautiful and so versatile - you could really make it into whatever you want it to be. We brought in almost no decorations because the space was perfect for us as is. The ceremony outside in the park was gorgeous, the reception inside was wonderful. Our (almost 200) guests are still talking about it. We had a big wedding and there was space for everyone with a big dance floor and lots of room to spare. We used the red velvet room as our bridal suite and had everything we needed right there - could even walk down the block to have our hair done. The photo opportunities in and around the Senate Garage were unbeatable and our pictures look amazing. We are so grateful for April, who was a great advocate for us when other vendors were being difficult. She worked tirelessly with us for months to make sure everything was perfect. We would get married there again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it to others.
If you are looking for a Hudson Valley wedding venue with both indoor and outdoor space, the Senate Garage is an outstanding choice! My daughter wanted a unique venue, but also someplace comfortable, climate controlled, and modern in all the right ways. The Kingston NY Senate Garage is a perfect mix of old and new, indoors and outdoors. The space is completely one of a kind – a large, charming, historic garage tastefully transformed into a fabulous industrial style venue. High ceilings, brick walls, beautiful views from the many windows, and an overall cool vibe charmed my daughter and her fiancé. Plus it is heated and air conditioned, with a complete working kitchen and modern restrooms. All 130 guests at their July wedding – a mix of ages and cultures – adored the space as well as the adjacent outdoor area, with its lovely gardens and pretty lawns. We used long tables for family style dining and still had plenty of great space for mingling and dancing. And our Bride loved the romantic, gorgeous Bride’s Room, complete with chandelier, velvet sofa, and private rest room. As mother of the bride and family wedding planner, the Senate Garage staff gets 5 Stars from me, actually make that 10! They are caring, responsible professionals who helped us make plans and solve problems. April, the Events Manager, was our go-to person for all aspects of planning, and in time, felt like a friend of the family. Also, we discovered that the Senate Garage’s location in historic uptown Kingston is perfect for a destination wedding. Within a few of blocks of this venue are restaurants, bars, caterers, airbnbs, florists, photographers, hair and makeup salons, even great venues for an afterparty.
This venue was a perfect place to have our wedding. We had our ceremony next door at the Senate House gardens, and following that our guests were invited into the Senate Garage for the cocktail hour and reception. The brick walls, exposed ceiling and industrial lighting gave our event a unique feel unlike any other weddings we’ve attended. Our guests couldn’t stop saying how amazing they thought the space was. It’s very open which offers room for a lot of different floor plan layouts and design options (not to mention a great dance floor!). The owners and staff were easy and wonderful to work with as well. April (the venue’s manager) was a tremendous help in the planning process and we were so grateful to have her there the night of the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly. 5 STARS for the Senate Garage!!
The Senate Garage is unlike any other venue I have seen in upstate NY or the Hudson Valley. They have a beautiful and large industrial space with wonderful Edison bulb chandeliers and beautifully refinished concrete floors but you can ALSO use the Senate House property! The Senate House property has beautiful colonial houses and gardens that have been beautifully restored! I would recommend this space to ANYONE looking for a non-traditional venue with less than 270 guests. Their staff is friendly, warm and accommodating too, who could ask for more?
Fantastic, our wedding was sensational !!! The moment we stepped through the door of the Senate Garage we fell in love with the dramatic space. It had everything we wanted, a visually stunning space in which we could bring our two lives together, a space to fill with all our family and friends, an architecturally interesting space with high ceilings, beautiful hanging chandeliers, large walls on which to hang work, an amazing floor for dancing, and large windows facing out onto a park setting. We could not have been more thrilled. The owners and their lovely staff are exceptional. Their enthusiasm and generosity as they endeavored to ensure that our wedding was perfect, went well beyond our expectations. Two days before the wedding, a kitchen with full amenities was installed. Their vision has created an environment so unique and extraordinary, it is truly deserving of my highest five times five star rating!!!!
