We hired Laura to help us design and coordinate for the month of the wedding. We had multiple virtual meetings to nail down the vibe we were aiming for. We communicated that we wanted a minimally wasteful and sustainable event and Laura was able to work within those confines to make our day look and feel magical. Through Serendipity and Laura, we could utilize the Aisle Planner platform, and this was a really easy way for us to organize and pass everything over to Laura and her team on the big day. It had a really neat feature for us to make a seating chart for our wedding venue's exact layout. It also allowed us to see the progress of our checklist as a project management tool. The platform was very versatile and allowed us to stay on top of wedding planning in the months leading up to the big day. Laura had to leave us for maternity leave but left us in wonderful hands, and we trusted that Laura would have someone else as equally professional and amazing as Laura.
We found Laura at a time when we postponed our wedding twice and our first venue cancelled on us due to renovations. We were burned out in trying to plan and plan again and having things not work out. Laura came and gave us hope, guidance, support, advice, and walked us through every step of the way! We didn't have to do anything, just told her what days and times we were available and she did the rest!! Due to the pandemic, we had a few more ups and downs, but Laura was fantastic with each new curveball that came our way. Our wedding would not have happened if it weren't for her and all the hard work she put into pre-wedding planning and coordination. She was punctual, responsive, and lifted our spirits throughout the whole process all while she was having a baby!! She transitioned us to Veronica of Type A Soiree seamlessly for the final weeks and day of coordination and it turned out to be the BEST day of our lives!!! We are so happy and so thankful to have such wonderful vendors thanks to Laura - she's really empathetic, thoughtful, and has a great eye for detail! Our day was everything we'd ever hoped for and more. Laura is the best and you won't have to worry about a thing because you're in good hands!!
This is LONG overdue, but the fact that I still think about our wedding pretty much daily with the biggest smile on my face even though months have passed should be an indication of what a wonderful job Laura and her team at Serendipity did. We had the anxiety (and ultimately the pleasure) of having two weddings once Covid came through to postpone it the first time around. Making the decision to postpone was challenging, but Laura was with us every step of the way. She helped us weigh our options, she kept us up to date on what was happening in the industry, and she supported us with our decision to get married with our family present but delay the big day by a year. Our family and friends were often surprised by how calm we were about the change, but it’s because Laura took care of everything. She was able to help us seamlessly transition our entire plan (no vendor left behind!) to a date a year in the future that worked for everyone. The wedding I will get to, but words cannot express how grateful I am to Laura for helping us make that decision and transitioning the entire plan so we didn’t need to lift a finger. She was then, and continued to be throughout our entire time working with her, a steady voice of support, an empathetic ear, and a positive force of hope and optimism for us during the entire process.
Fast forward to the wedding take two! This day was perfect in every way. We did our best to give some direction (admittedly were probably unhelpfully vague in our vision), but Laura seemed to just get it. She included the most thoughtful details, made the space beautiful, and would give her honest opinion about what would work and what wouldn’t, and trusting her 100% is honestly the best thing any couple can do because she does not disappoint! We had a wedding in our backyard, which included a bit of a flipping of the space, some movement between areas, and an unanticipated level of creativity to have a vision for a space that has never held an event before. My parent’s home was absolutely transformed into the most magical space. During the event itself, Laura was the epitome of calm, cool, and collected. Everything went off without a hitch, she ensured my husband and I got to try all the food even though we were mingling, and everything about the day was right in line with our hopes and expectations. My husband and I reflect often about how our wedding was genuinely the best day of our lives and the most fun we’ve ever had, and none of that would have been possible without Laura and her team. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much Laura!
If you want to spend your money on something that will decrease stress not only on your wedding day but during the whole wedding process, RUN don’t walk, to book laura. She is worth her weight in gold.
Words cannot begin to describe how wonderful laura and her team are. I am a full time wedding photographer myself, so when it came time for me to get married, I KNEW that laura was my girl. I have worked with her from the vendor side for years, so I knew she would be incredible… but man was she so much more than that.
I gave laura a ton of creative freedom, and she turned my small micro wedding into maybe the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen. She kept everything flowing, and the entire day was perfect from start to finish.
I could not have done it without her. My wedding is only filled with happy memories thanks to the Serendipity team.
I went into planning my wedding pretty early on this year and thought- I have everything lined up. But when it came to actually concocting my dream decor/design of reception and ceremony- I was clueless! And on top of that, with the wedding nearing, I was internally freaking out because all my vendors kept contacting me and I just felt defeated and overwhelmed. Luckily for me, Laura stepped right in and helped me and my husband feel at ease. She was thorough with my vendors, she was communicative whenever I contacted her, and she really was my advocate in every aspect of our wedding. She ensured I was stress free on my wedding day (I was so anxious!). She and her assistant even observed my husband and I letting loose (and getting a little too crazy.. sorry Laura!) I wouldn't have had it any other way! I'd 100% recommend her and her team to anyone.
Professionalism, reliability, quality, and positive energy are all traits that Serendipity Events excels at! Laura runs a very tight ship and is truly incredible at what she does. A true pleasure! Can't recommend them enough!
WOW! That about sums up the wedding that Laura and her team delivered for us. Our backyard was transformed into the most beautiful setting we could have ever imagined. I cannot even count the number of wedding guests who told me that every detail was so well thought out and executed perfectly on the wedding day! My daughter and her fiancé were planning for their wedding from another state and Laura not only took care of everything, but transformed their dreams into reality. My suggestion to anyone who has the foresight to choose Laura and the Serendipity team is to TRUST them. They really know what they are doing and will create an event that is more beautiful than you could ever imagine. My husband and I will forever be grateful for Laura creating the wedding of their dreams for our daughter and son-in-law. Thank you so much to the whole team!!
Before I started planning my wedding, I knew that I would hire a coordinator. I cannot stress enough how important it was to have someone else run the show besides me. And Laura did exactly that. The transition of handing off to Laura, all the work I had put into my wedding, was seamless, and she was the perfect person for the role.
After talking to Laura on the phone for the first time I knew she could handle everything I needed in a coordinator and I decided to add on additional months of service to have her start helping sooner than planned. I was so pleased with Laura and her team throughout the entire process and especially on the wedding weekend. They absolutely went above and beyond and really came through for us in pulling everything off!
About two months out, we had to move our wedding to a backyard which required WAY more hands on help from Laura. I am so thankful she was willing to help us out and did much more than expected. She was worth every penny.
Thanks to Laura and Caitlyn, we were able to have a blast at our wedding and knew everything was going to be handled. I highly recommend Serendipity for your wedding in San Diego and beyond!

I’ve worked with her for several professional work events and she planned my wedding (during a pandemic) and every event this team touches is MAGIC! They bring your thoughts to life and make them even better than your dreams. They are the sweetest, most kind hearted people and I can’t recommend them enough!!!
If it weren’t for Laura, I wouldn’t be married! But seriously, thanks to all Laura’s amazing work, we had a beautiful backyard wedding with our families. We hired Laura pre-covid and were planning a 80+ guest reception at a ballroom. Laura helped us through one postponement and then rolled with it as we decided to do an intimate backyard wedding a month beforehand! Our wedding was absolutely perfect and I can’t recommend Laura and her team highly enough.
Planning a wedding during a pandemic is hard. I ended up booking with Laura after the planner I had booked ended up not being able to work with us due to an unforeseen circumstance. At the time (pre-pandemic) our wedding was going to take place at the Kona Kai Resort. Our catering manager at the Kona Kai referred Laura when we told her we were needing to book someone else. I had spoken with Laura before I booked the first planner and really liked her energy when we had spoken on the phone so with the recommendation it was easy to want to move forward with her. Thankfully, she had my date available! Soon after, Covid-19 hit and there was so much unknown. Laura was so wonderful getting on the phone with my mom & me to help ease our worries and relay as much information as known to her as opening and closing plans were changing daily in San Diego. Ultimately, the tough decision was made to change venues to Coasterra as we had to cut our guest list considerably and we felt Coasterra was a better fit for the more intimate wedding we were now planning. Laura rolled with the punches with us and helped us start planning a whole new wedding.
I purchased a partial planning package with Laura as many of the key vendors had already been booked. While I think I may have misunderstood what I was getting with the partial planning package, Laura was fantastic at coordinating all of the vendors once they were booked. She was detailed and ensured our day went off without a hitch. She brought a great, can-do attitude to our planning process and was very solution-driven as there were a lot of unusual requirements due to the pandemic and county/state guidelines.
Laura is a fantastic coordinator and I was very lucky to have her in my corner.
Serendipity Events was SO amazing and important to the success of our wedding planning and big day. Our wedding was 35 days out when COVID hit, and Laura and her team went above and beyond to re-arrange every detail of our wedding with each of our vendors, help us find an alternative date and ensure that our religious ceremony & event was compliant, and kept all of our guests safe. When we started to work with Laura, we had small pieces of our visions for the wedding day, but she was able to take our ideas and put together such a beautiful event that exceeded our expectations. Additionally, her planful communication with all of our vendors was such a weight off of our shoulders. If you are looking for a wedding planner & company, whether it is full-scale planning or a day of coordinator, I cannot recommend Serendipity Events enough. We will be forever grateful for all they did to support us <3
I knew from my first conversation with Laura that she was the coordinator I needed. Her and Katie were so professional and sweet- planning is so overwhelming, but after every conversation with Laura, I felt so much more at ease and under control. Her and her team are SO responsive and helpful from the minute you hire her. All throughout the wedding day, she checked in with us and made sure we were enjoying our day. Laura is AWESOME! I cannot express how glad I am that I used a full-time planner. She not only helped me plan a wonderful reception, she actually made the process fun and enjoyable! From the beginning, more than a year before our reception, Laura and I set expectations of how the process would work and it flowed easily from there. Laura provided great recommendations that I trusted and never worried about coordinating details with other vendors - she did it all and she did it perfectly!! Working with Serendipity made our wedding a dream come true. Everything on the day-of was perfect and went according to plan - and if it didn't, I didn't know about it because it was handled and fixed! Laura and her team, Katie and Kimberly, were patient with our many questions, providing their expert advice when needed and also letting us plan things in the way that worked for us. They put together a comfortable day-of timeline, fitting in all of the moving parts that we had going on, and handled all of the vendor communications in the weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. The whole team was professional, friendly, and easy to communicate with - which is exactly what you need on a naturally busy and emotional day. We also worked with some of Laura's recommended vendors, who were all top-notch. My sister got married this weekend and Laura and her team went above and beyond to make everything perfect. It almost felt like they were in our heads. If the bride/bridal party needed anything - water, safety pins, band aides, champagne - they were one stop ahead of us. They kept our family members up to date as the night went on so we didn’t miss the big moments (like the cake cutting) and they made sure the night ran smoothly. Having Serendipity manage my sisters wedding was an invaluable decision. Everyone got to enjoy themselves and never had to worry about what was coming next. We’re so thankful to all of the staff!!! Planning a wedding with Laura Schwandt (Serendipity Events) was one of the best decisions we made. She brought a level of professionalism and experience that made a difficult task not only manageable, but fun. She was responsive to our needs from day one and flexible with last minute changes. I’m in utter shock not only because my wedding weekend is over but how insanely talented Laura and her team at Serendipity Events was throughout the whole planning process. Even with Laura having a baby and taking time to settle into motherhood, she did not miss a beat! She made planning a San Diego wedding from Northern Michigan simple, fun and stress free. All of her vendor recommendations were just as easy to work with, professional and exactly what I was looking for. I felt like Laura really listened to my wants and needs and was able to execute it exactly as promised. If you are looking for an organized, composed visionary for a wedding planner, Laura is your girl! She not only made my dream wedding come true, but I also feel like I’ve made a friend for life!!
Caitlyn was amazing! She was organized, efficient, and kept our day running seamlessly (even with some uncooperative weather!). We hired Serendipity for the 6 weeks out package, and it was perfect. I was so relieved to have someone take over all of the minute details 6 weeks ahead of time. They did an amazing job!
My wedding coordinator was named Sarah Temple and she was the BEST! She was completely professional and soooooo helpful. I purchased the "final details" coordinating package, but it included SO much more than just the day of! I met with Sarah three times before the big day and she made sure everything was on track. I do not know how the wedding would have functioned without Sarah! The package also included more on site coordinators that helped Sarah. They were also super helpful and professional. Sarah is just a sweet, wonderful person who definitely has a lot of experience with event planning. She is organized and has great communication skills

She contacted all my vendors several times to make sure they were in the loop.
She completed my wedding day timeline and informed all my vendors of the timeline so everything was delivered/setup on time.
She helped set up the wedding ceremony (unity candle, etc...)
She and her helpers set up the reception site with DIY decor. They also did the breakdown and delivered the decor to my parents room so my parents could enjoy the rest of the night.
Sarah was there to help keep me calm when things started to happen.
She followed along my process through the aisle planner website
She did a final walkthrough with me
She even helped bustle my dress when everyone else couldn't figure it out!
She even offered me her sandals when my feet started to hurt later in the night.
She was always available but never in the way. We are forever grateful for Sarah and Serendipity events for helping us have such a great time!

Laura and her team are incredible! Laura helped me not just with the planning, but also with design. I didn't have much of a vision for our wedding besides the flowers and I knew nothing of where to even begin with planning a wedding and party for 150 people. She provided me with a timeline for setting up vendors and had recommendations for every vendor I would need (which all worked out so well!). She was excited with me when deciding on small details and when I was stressed or nervous she was calm and made everything seem easy. She has a great eye for design and truly loves and enjoys the process of creating the perfect wedding day. The day of our wedding everything was seamless. Her team kept track of all the vendors and set up and walked us through the timeline of the day so that we didn't have to think about anything except having fun! And we did! My husband and I used Serendipity Events for the final-six-weeks package. We got married at the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, where you bring everything in. There was so much planning involved, and we were both totally obsessed with every part of our wedding. We had SO MUCH FUN that day/evening and it could not have been done nearly as smoothly without Serendipity Events.
Serendipity helped us majorly with the fine details — you think you can handle timeline and logistics until you have to think of every little thing for a wedding. There are so. Many. Logistics.
Laura also provided her helpful opinions on things like linens — the stuff that my brain was totally fried for. Laura even tied them all! It was a godsend. Thank you to Serendipity Events one million times over for the coordination on the final details with each of the vendors and the venue itself, and for knotting all of those napkins so beautifully. It couldn’t have been any more perfect. Highly recommend!
Laura, Caitlyn, and Allie made my wedding amazing. They were incredible throughout the whole planning process - helping me stay on track and guiding me. The day of was seamless due to them being there and handling everything.
Serendipity Events was definitely worth hiring to coordinate our wedding day. Laura is so level-headed and makes sure everything runs so smoothly that you would never know if there was a hiccup somewhere. I don't know of any and I'm pretty sure that's because of Laura.
Serendipity's day of coordination package comes with a venue walkthrough that usually happens closer to the day of the wedding. However, I had no vision or ideas at all, and Laura was more than happy to walk through the venue with me and my MOH earlier so that we could discuss ideas on how to decorate our venue at the Safari Park. Fast forward to a few weeks before the wedding. Laura sets up a meeting to go over timeline and small details. I had been starting to become a little stressed about the whole thing and she was just so calm that it made me relax. The day of the rehearsal, Laura was there to run it and after, she took all the items that would be used the next day and I had absolutely no idea on how to tell her where things should be placed. And I literally mean EVERYTHING. With pretty much no instructions on where things should be placed.
On the day, I had no idea what was happening down at the ceremony site and venue since I was sequestered away in the bridal changing room. Laura came by to deliver the personal florals and to let me know that everything was going great. My first look at the venue was when I walked down the aisle with my parents. It was breathtaking. I don't know how, but Laura was able to read my mind, take whatever I was envisioning, and made it better. Everything was beautiful and placed perfectly. All our guests kept coming up to tell us how gorgeous everything was and I kept pointing them towards Laura because I had absolutely nothing to do with it except for providing the actual items to be used.
All in all, Laura is the best person to have at your side. She is calm, she is professional, and most of all, she will make sure that your wedding day goes by perfectly.
THE BEST!! I honestly don't even know where to start with how unbelievably amazing Laura is!! Laura is so organized, creative, thoughtful, flexible, and patient and made the entire wedding planning process not only not stressful, but enjoyable! She helped make our wedding day the absolute best and I cannot imagine going through this process without her. She truly goes above and beyond and and I cannot recommend her highly enough!!
WOW! I "interviewed" a lot of local coordinators when I first got engaged and within the first 5 minutes of my phone call with Laura I knew she was the one. I highly recommend Serendipity Events to any couple looking for a coordinator. I can confidently say you will not regret it.
She is so professional, calm, organized, easy to partner with, and a clear communicator. I spoke with Laura over the phone numerous times before the wedding regarding issues I was having, confusion with vendors, etc. Laura handled everything. Not only did she handle everything, but it was done quickly as well.
She also pays attention to every little detail on the day of the event. Toward the end of the night a guest stepped on my dress and broke my bustle. I thought, it's the end of the night, my dress is already dirty, whatever. Laura and her team quickly came up to me with a safety pin, fixed my dress and I was good as new. With everything going on she always had her eyes on the bride and groom and was ready to help at all times.
I was so impressed with her and I would recommend her and Serendipity Events to anyone getting married in the area. She is the reason my wedding was flawless and I wasn't stressed at all. My husband and I really can't say enough good things about Serendipity Events.
We could not have asked for a better execution of a wedding ceremony and reception than Laura had done for us. Working off only a handful of details that we wanted to see (or not see), along with a random list of adjectives, Laura made our vision a reality. As we walked into our reception area, seeing all the different aspects come together in such a perfect way was amazing. I can only describe the experience as one similar to those great “reveal” moments you see on tv. Throughout the planning process, Laura was always very timely, full of energy and enthusiasm, kept us on track, and flexible with changes. One very impressive thing was her ability to work within our budget. She knew what we were looking for, knew what we were looking to spend, and recommended superior vendors for each aspect of the wedding. When it came to the week and day of the wedding, it was really easy and stress free for us. We had the confidence in Laura to know it would all turn out great and that she was on top of it all. Thank you for making our special day a truly incredible memory for us.
Laura is incredible!! I loved her from the beginning, so much so that we hired her after a phone call and email. When I was searching for a planner, Laura was the only one of the several I'd talked to that asked about and included my then fiancé in the conversation. It was really important to us that the wedding was "our wedding" and we appreciated that she included him from the start.
We used Laura to design and plan our wedding - I know nothing about weddings so we needed the help! She has a fantastic network of vendors. We used quite a few of her recommendations and were beyond happy with every single one. Laura is incredibly organized, met and checked in with us regularly, was always on top of everything, and kept us on track with our to-dos. And anytime I started to stress myself out, Laura would put things into perspective.
But, the most impressive part of all is her creativity and design. I didn't give Laura much to work with at the beginning - we had a venue, colors we liked, and a handful of photos. Laura was somehow able to translate this and our "vision" (which was basically several random adjectives thrown together) into a magical and incredibly beautiful night. Every detail was perfection!
The week of the wedding was a breeze. I didn't have to think or worry about a thing, and I had the most relaxing, stress-free wedding day. Hiring Serendipity is the best decision we made - I wish we could have a wedding every year just to work with her over and over again!

Laura and her team are amazing!!! We got married in October 2017 and I wanted to do most everything on my own. Although I thought I had everything taken care of, Laura was so helpful throughout our planning. She made herself available for every detail and even made great suggestions that made our day so special. I truly wish I could plan another event to be able to work with her again. While my wife definitely did most of the work with Laura for our wedding, every time we traveled to San Diego to meet with her live I watched my wife light up when she got to work with Serendipity. Laura took so much stress off of my wife's plate, guided her with every decision, and recommended vendors that ended up giving us the most amazing wedding. Laura and her team made mine and my husbands dreams come true with our destination wedding to Lake Arrowhead! They listened to everything we wanted and exceeded all our expectations. We just had my daughter's wedding this past weekend and it was perfect! Laura and Serendipity Events worked their magic to create a spectacular holiday themed ceremony and reception at Brick. Laura was fabulous in all steps-from ideas to implementation. When I walked into Brick I saw exactly what I had envisioned in my head. Laura has a calm way of leading you to exactly where you want to go. She is creative with her ideas, but always listens to your vision. Laura works quietly behind the scene with venues and vendors and before you know it the day is here and it turns out beautifully! When you ask her what you can do to help, her answer is to just enjoy the day. Love that! I wish I had more children so we could plan another wedding. It was just that much fun. We had so many comments from guests that this was the most fun wedding they had ever attended. I highly recommend Serendipity Events for all your event planning. They were awesome in every way!
Thanks to Laura and Serendipity Events, we had the most magical destination wedding weekend!! I am a very A-type bride, and Laura kept up (and put up) with me every step of the way. She is extremely organized, creative, passionate, kind, and made sure I was happy every step of the way during the wedding planning process. Laura at Serendipity Events makes magic happen!! My husband and I opted to secretly elope so our day could just be about us and our love, but we still wanted to get beautiful photos that captured who we are and the feeling of our special day. Laura helped me design a gorgeous sweetheart tablescape and styled a whole photo shoot to do just that. She scoped out spots with our photographer around the resort where we were staying and picked up and set up everything so I wouldn't have to lift a finger the day of. This gave me and my husband a chance to FaceTime with our friends and family to share our exciting news. Our day was stress free and amazing because of Laura!! She leaves no detail unturned and is so incredibly organized. And best of all, she is a joy to work with! You can really tell that Laura loves love and is truly passionate about her job. Serendipity Events did an amazing job planning and coordinating my dream wedding!! We planned our wedding from 2 hours away but Laura checked in with us regularly which made the process stress-free. My husband and I had the most amazing, stress-free wedding day thanks to Laura and her team. It was seriously perfect! We planned our San Diego wedding from the east coast and wanted to ensure that it would all come together the day of, so we booked Serendipity Events. In the months leading up the the wedding, Laura checked in constantly, answered all my questions, and provided fantastic vendor suggestions. I felt like she definitely went above and beyond what I expected for "day of coordination". On the actual day of, everything was executed to perfection! The decor was absolutely beautiful; we stuck to our timeline; we actually ate (!!); and most importantly, we were able to just relax and enjoy ourselves. If you're thinking that you don't need a planner/coordinator (like I originally did), you're wrong! It's 100% worth it to enjoy every minute of your big day!
Laura and her team were amazing!! Laura was with me from the beginning! She is easy to get a hold of, stays in contact with you and reminds you of the things that need to be crossed off the list. I chose her partial package because I am a DIY bride and I wanted to take control over the design part of my wedding! Everything else though was exactly what I needed! She gave me suggestions, took control when a vendor was unresponsive and she even helped haul stuff to and from the venue!! She went above and beyond to keep our minds at ease!! We highly recommend her!! She is amazing, sweet, & extremely poised and as a side note we highly recommend the restaurant where her hubby is a chef at, Leroy's Kitchen and Lounge, for your rehearsal lunch or dinner! Savory!! Laura was a pleasure to work with. We were looking to have the most inexpensive yet beautiful wedding and she helped us pull it together. We hired Laura and Melissa to help with the day-of coordination for our wedding at the Del Mar Beach Club on Camp Pendleton in 2014. The ladies met with me every month leading up to the wedding to make sure I was on track, staying calm, and assisting with any challenges we were facing at that point in the planning process. With a ceremony in the sand, a reception up the hill indoors and about 200 guests, the girls killed it. Everything the day of was absolutely perfect. I don't know how they did it, but everything we had discussed in regards to decor, flow, and timing was on point. There were a million moving parts in such a few short hours and not one error or snafoo arose. I didn't lift a finger, nor was I worried/stressed out at any point in the day. My husband and I were able to enjoy our families and wedding parties the whole morning and when it was time for us to get hitched, everything looked perfect. These ladies kept us on schedule all night, mediated our many vendors and were kind, professional and reassuring the whole way through. There is no way our wedding would have been as smooth or enjoyable without them. Serendipity was worth every penny; I'm surprised they are so reasonably priced considering the quality of service they offer. I would HIGHLY recommend Serendipity Events. They are seriously top-notch!
