Hi! I’m Jessica, owner of Serene Beauty. I’m a licensed esthetician and cosmetologist with over a decade of experience, serving 45–70 weddings each year since 2016 throughout the New York Capital Region and beyond. My goal is not only for you to look amazing, but to feel calm, confident, and completely Serene. I provide on-location makeup and hair services for brides and bridal parties, along with bridal trials, special event services, and facial treatments in my salon suite in Latham, New York. Every look is fully customized with an in-depth consultation, because beauty is never one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re envisioning soft and natural or elevated glam, your look will be tailored specifically to you. I am able to accommodate many parties on my own. For larger groups, when needed, I bring in very talented independent makeup and hair artists whom I've personally worked alongside for years. Hi! I'm Jessica, and I'm so happy you're here! If you're interested in getting to know more about my story and my business, here are a few highlights! At around age 16, I knew I wanted a career in the beauty industry. Connecting with other women, hearing their stories, and helping them feel like the best, most confident version of themselves, I mean, doesn’t that sound like the dream? Right out of high school I attended The Paul Mitchell School, and obtained my cosmetology license at age 18. I spent about a year behind the chair cutting and coloring before realizing that bridal makeup and hair is where my heart truly lies. Shortly after, I had the opportunity to live in Hawaii (yes, it was as dreamy as it sounds!), a top-tier global wedding destination, where I spent 6 months working on an incredible wedding makeup and hair team. Being surrounded by that level of artistry and energy really solidified that this is exactly what I wanted to do. I moved back to Upstate New York in 2016 and officially started my business- formerly Jessica Lynne Hair and Makeup (the OG clients remember!), and I rebranded my business name to Serene Beauty in 2023. Since 2016, I've had the honor of doing between 45-70 weddings each year. Along the way, my love for skincare grew too. In 2025 I attended The Aesthetics Science Institute, and obtained my esthetics license. Now I offer facial services in addition to bridal beauty, and am helping clients have the best skin of their lives, and helping brides prep their skin for their wedding days. When I’m not working, you’ll catch me still working on ways to grow and elevate my business (business owner life), or doing anything active and intentional. I love taking walks, reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with those closest to me. But don’t let me fool you- I also love to indulge in meals out and sweets treats! I didn't even have a reference picture, just an offhand suggestion from a close friend, but Jessica knew exactly what I was looking for without a pause. I told her I wanted to look fancier than usual but still natural, with makeup that would actually last, and she executed it perfectly even though I didn't have the vocabulary to describe what I wanted. I got compliments all day, and everything held up from our first ceremony photos to the late night after party. Jessica also managed the rest of the hair and makeup team for my wedding party, and they were all so warm and calm. We organized a hair and make-up trial which I would strongly urge everyone to do -- after the trial, I ended up having different ideas for what I wanted on the actual wedding day, and Jessica was completely on board and helpful in shaping the vision. On the day-of when she arrived at 8:30 AM in the morning, it felt like she fit right into the group and made all of us feel confident and gorgeous. She truly listens to understand exactly what her clients want and she DELIVERS! I went for my bridal trial in January and Jessica instantly made me feel at ease and confident in her skills. On my wedding day I wanted to make some changes to the look I had trialed, and she was able to execute them perfectly. I went full glam with the makeup, but I still looked like myself and got SO many complements. My hair and makeup both held up for the whole day/evening... even in the 90 degree heat and humidity for outdoor photos! I would trust Jessica over and over again for all my hair and makeup needs.
