Serenity Styles

I cannot say enough good things about Serenity. She is fun, professional, kind, and so talented! My bridesmaids and I met Serenity at a KC Wedding Expo in January 2023. Just looking through her album got us all excited - her use of foreground and the softness of the overall picture... She knows her way around the camera and has the artistic style I was looking for – whimsical and artistic! One of our biggest concerns was whether or not our photographer would be comfortable/confident with shooting at night. Our wedding was scheduled to happen during/after sunset, with lanterns and twinkling lights being the focus of light. She was confident and discussed the different aspects of nighttime shots, which helped ease our concerns there! Serenity went above and beyond for me on multiple occasions. She met with myself and one of my bridesmaids for an initial brainstorm session, driving to meet us at a random Panera where we sat for at least 2 hours talking. This was the moment where I knew I wanted to work with her, as she helped put me at ease and basically came up with the timeline for the wedding right then and there! Then she met with my fiancé and myself at Cheddar's for dinner and planning a few months later. She fit right in with our nerdiness! We did our engagement shoot with her and she took us to the perfect wooded area that felt like we were in the Redwood Forest! The shoot was technically free and was 90 minutes long. A few months before the wedding, we met up at the venue to walk around and scout out places for family pictures, first looks, bridal party pictures, etc. A couple of days before the wedding, I called her in a panic. I had done a little boudoir shoot and planned to present a set of photos to my fiancé the morning of our wedding (as a little sneak-peek). However, with the sensitive nature of the photos, most places aren't as comfortable printing them. That and the turnaround would have been after the wedding for higher prices.... Serenity was kind enough to have the photos professionally printed with a local shop that many photographers use for a discount. She even picked up the pictures and met one of my bridesmaids the day before the wedding so that I could put the gift together for the following morning! I of course paid for the prints and was beyond thankful for her helping me with such an intimate project. She told me she does whatever she can for her brides, and boy does she mean it! The wedding experience was so fun and her creative eye captured some gorgeous photos that we will cherish forever. Many who see the images compliment the photographer (which they should!). I will say, the payment process was a bit confusing (especially working with the videographer as well), but Serenity was so kind and patient with us and worked with us on it all. The price is worth it for the results as well as the experience with Serenity as a whole. I appreciated how she advocated for her clients. I'll be coming back to her for future photography needs ;)
