zed your DJ is probably your most important vendor decision because they basically run the night and Create the vibe, or in some cases can really mess up the vibe when they do not get it right …as I experienced more times than I care to mention. With our wedding, the ceremony sound and the timing was perfect. I can’t tell you how many DJs screwed this up at friend’s weddings. I guess it must not be an easy thing to perfect but Sloan absolutely came through for us. The cocktail and dinner music was exactly our vibe and created the perfect atmosphere. Sloan timed the dances perfectly even though we added some complicated elements with edited mash up first dance songs. The timing of the announcements also expertly done. Arguably the most important part, the dancing after dinner is where Sloan displayed the depth of her expertise. People danced all night, she played all of our favorites plus a few we weren’t expecting in a good way that just slayed the dance floor. I keep getting compliments every time I hear from someone at our wedding about the party vibe and how much fun they had at our wedding, like literally the most fun they’ve had at any kind of party. So needless to say we would hire Sloan again and again.

uld never be over the top obnoxious with announcements, lame jokes or yelling at people to dance. Sloan is a class act an amazing DJ and knows just what to play when, and how to edit songs down for maximum dance floor impact. We didn’t need or want all of that extra nonsense of constantly interrupting the music every two minutes with DJ announcements in attempt to “entertain the crowd”. a DJ who was familiar who could blend all these genres and Sloan does many fusion weddings with many nationalities of music. She just got us and nailed our music and our wedding! Also a big part of hiring her was her authenticity. We really didn’t want someone over the top and cheesey or gimmicky like you get with most other DJs. Let’s face it, we live in a world of fake and posey. Fake Instagram and other social media. I feel like Sloan is one of Atlanta’s best kept secrets and so glad we found her! She’s authentic and genuine and really cares about her couples. She is not super slickly edited we really appreciated that ! She actually played all the music we requested (I’ve been to waaay too many weddings where this isn’t the case). She walks the walk and is the real deal. So professional and so skilled. be a great DJ but I assure you they were not. Weddings require a special type of skill and a ton of expertise to pull off really well, especially just really listening to what a couple wants and asking the right questions. It was very clear she wanted to make our event special and stand out. You don’t get a chance for do overs here so choose your DJ very very wisely. If you want a first class experience, then look no further. Our experience was first class all the way. WE felt very taken care of and Sloan was very responsive and detailed to our million plus questions and emails. Plus she’s just a totally bad ass DJ and had us dancing all night! The ceremony was perfect with her doing the music and mic-ing, cocktail and dinner music 100% customized and also perfect! after dinner she kept everyone on the dance floor for about 3 hours, NOT an easy feat. She played one great song after another and edited them down for maximum dance floor punch. Her mixing skills are too notch and we were just blown away at how great it all turned out. TONS of compliments on how good she was and how much fun it was! Thank you Sloan for taking care of us the way you did and for being a class act and an amazing DJ all rolled into one!

c portal made submitting my song list super easy! When it came to ceremony music, I picked some pretty obscure songs, but this was no problem for Sloan! Everything was perfect for the ceremony! The reception also turned out better than I could've imagined! While we picked a majority of the music, Sloan picked the perfect songs to fill the empty gaps and made sure to put in some requests from the guests! People were out on the dance floor until we had to make them leave! Many of my guests told me that She was so amazing with song selection and arrangement that they had a hard time leaving the dance floor to go to the bar! My cousin even bruised his hip flexor from dancing so hard! If you are looking for a DJ that makes sure every guest is having the best time, I would definitely recommend Sloan!

We were nervous about choosing the right DJ because us and our friends can be pretty critical of wedding music, and she ultimately struck the perfect balance between playing all of our important songs and keeping a cool vibe and making sure the dance floor kept going throughout the night. Our venue also had some complicated aspects to how it was laid out, and Sloan did a great job coordinating everything with them and also helping us with our timeline. Highly recommended professional!

icated, but just a tip to other couples, don’t make anyone feel obligated to come to your wedding - but you may be surprised how many will actually come! By the time ours came around Sloan had already done several during the pandemic so she really helped us a lot as far as suggestions on how to handle things in the best way and details you don’t think about. With Sloan you definitely get a lot more than what you pay for in my opinion having been to many many weddings, if you get it wrong especially with a DJ you risk the livelihood of your big day since the DJ basically runs the whole night. The ceremony was flawless thanks to her expertise with sound , cocktail and dinner music was even totally customized for us- not just throw away music for the background. Once the dance floor opened the music was also so on point. Her announcements were perfect , made the night run smoothly and never intrusive. We got so many compliments on the music from guests and even the other vendors which I think says a lot! She just really went over and above what I’ve seen all the other DJs do and created a supremely fun night FULL of dancing. Thank you so much Sloan, it was the best day of our lives!

It’s a bit sad because said friend wasn’t super pleased with her DJ (people didn’t seem that into it either ) even though it was a well known DJ here on the knot with decent reviews. Maybe girls have to be better to compete like everything else they have to, and Sloan is clearly a pro at the top of her game. Not trying to ramble here but I’m just saying you should really get a good vibe for your exact DJ and what they can bring to the table for you , and not just their fee because you just can’t do it over . talked too much and barely played music. Sloan is not that. She is edgy without being pretentious. Smart about music without being obvious. She gave us what we wanted without playing all the predictable wedding tunes in the predictable ways. In a nutshell she has style and great taste that only comes with experience and caring about what you as a couple want. She 100% listened to what we wanted and customized everything exactly how she said she would which is unlike other DJ’s who just play what they want regardless of what you ask for. Our experience at our destination wedding was extraordinary. If you care about music your DJ is the most critical decision you will make for your wedding. Do not price shop compare and look for the least expensive guy out there like the $1000 DJ’s . Those guys are all too common and unmemorable and will not give you anything special. Sloan will work harder for you and give you something better than what you even imagined for your day.

rything would go well. I was wrong: everything went better than well, it went perfectly. And it was all thanks to Sloan's dedication, foresight, and skill. When I was selecting a DJ, Sloan was actually the second most expensive person we were considering. But from my initial contact with her it was clear that she was by far the most professional, the most engaged, and the most capable. My fiancee and I were not using a wedding planner, so we decided that it was best to get the best possible people to help us, so that we could rely on them completely. This was an excellent choice. With her added input and expertise, Sloan was an excellent investment: she had great advice for how to ensure the best possible flow for the reception, she foresaw all manner of potential issues that my fiancee and I had not even considered, and she was completely and totally dependable. It was clear to us from the beginning that we could trust Sloan to help make our reception all that we had dreamed of, and that was very true. Sloan helped us tailor our reception to exactly what we wanted. She helped us curate music, she helped us with planning, and she helped us devise cues. about hiring a woman and I really think she has a special ability to read people music wise and just knows how to make your event stand out because she’s so diverse. edding playlist. I thought, “Isn’t that the DJ’s job?” We went ahead and did so. She hardly played any of the music we requested at the wedding, and when my Dad went up to her during the reception to request a song, she tossed a sign in his face that stated “The bride and groom do not want guests to request songs”-which was not the case. The thing that made me most mad was that her wireless microphone didn’t work at any point during the wedding. The connection between the speaker and microphone was so spotty that anyone using the microphone was only getting every other word out. I actually grabbed the microphone from my officiant DURING our ceremony because it sounded so bad and I could barely focus on our vows. When my wedding coordinator asked Sloan to fix this for the toasts, she said that my officiant “was probably turning the microphone on and off because he was nervous”. Well it didn’t work for Any of the toasts or my sister singing during the reception. I was very disappointed in Sloan’s lack of professionalism and respect. Not to mention her out of date equipment. We would have been better off with my iPhone hooked up to a speaker.

ike other sites! Bear with me as this may be long but I want to address each of your concerns as my couples are my priority. I've done hundreds of weddings and as you can see from my reviews my couples' happiness is very important to me to me and I always strive to overdeliver and exceed all expectations. This was no different for you guys. I have many photos and video of your night and ceremony. In them everyone including your self was smiling, laughing, dancing all night so I thought everyone including you was having a blast. I also received multiple compliments from guests, they were very sweet! It seemed like all was well and I was doing a great job. I'll repeat again what I have said prior. I totally customize everything for each couple so I always ask my couples to submit some songs so I can get a feel for their tastes and I build around that. You submitted just a few songs and I played all of them throughout the evening minus a few we ran out of time for. I filled in the rest of the time of what I thought would work. Your dance floor stayed packed all night! At some point, a man who I didn't recognize as your Dad at the time, it was dark! He began yelling repeatedly that he wanted a song but his words weren't making sense and he couldn't hear me either. I had to keep the party going so I tapped on the piece of paper on my table I always have saying "We're so sorry we aren't taking requests" which we discussed just prior to your wedding and you agreed that method works best. I'm sorry if there was some misunderstanding. I didn't toss anything at him and meant no lack of respect. I would have stepped away to hear him better had I known it was him and I would have played whatever he requested since it was your Dad. Making parents happy is important to me. I did a mic test with your officiant/uncle prior to the ceremony and everything was fine. He only used it for his few first sentences then put it down for the rest of the ceremony. I couldn't see anything wrong on my end. I asked him after and he said he was very emotional/nervous and just didn't want to use it. Your coordinator said he was well heard because it was a small space said everything was great. I got the mic back and used that same mic all night for announcements. Introductions, first dances, your special dance where I called all couples to the dance floor. last dance etc. I always have an extra mic back up but it was working fine for me so I thought nothing was wrong, it seemed like it was user error. Users must hold the mic up to their mouths to be heard well. I tried to explain that to your sister but she was so nervous (poor thing) that she didn't do so. Same thing could have happened for others but most people were well heard. I apologize for mic issues but I did give you a refund so I thought you were happy with that. I'm also sorry for any other miscommunication and hope you can see the value in all your happy guests and the energy of your dance floor and how smoothly the whole night ran otherwise. The announcements were spot on and never over the top, She played so many gems special edits and remixes in a way that kept everyone dancing for hours- it was so hard to take a break because we didn't want to leave the dancefloor! I can't emphasize enough what the right music and DJ will do for your wedding. It's probably the most important decision you will make for your wedding. This is not a place to be cheap and cut corners and hire your average DJ. You only have one go at this and can't do it over! NO REGRETS! She was so good at keeping the tunes pumping and people dancing and keeping things interesting and super fun. olutely killed it again! I agree with the other reviews that she's a ROCKSTAR and no one else even comes close. (Trust me I've been to my share of weddings even with some of these other DJs on here.) She played indie punk hip hop pop classics all of it suited us and our guests and it was amazing ! What a night- you are without a doubt THE best Sloan!

When we booked, she made sure to talk to my wife and I about our music tastes, the tastes of our family and guests, and how that would fit into the flow of the wedding. Leading up to the day of, she was incredibly helpful in making sure we provided all the information she needed and helping us determine the music/cues for the entire night. On the night of, she was quick, flexible, astute. We are still getting compliments and comments about how great the music was four months later. To be frank, people danced their butts off. Sloan was one of the biggest factors to making our wedding the most memorable night in our life.

. If you want a DJ who 'gets it' and understands that you are looking for something different than your "basic" wedding DJ- I could not recommend Sloan enough . She has a vast knowledge of genres that could probably rival a music historian, and she customizes - a lot. She's as good as (and I think better than any male DJ I've heard out there) and she has a female perspective which this bride REALLY appreciated. She made our wedding one epic night!!
