The Sesnon House is an elegant historic mansion located on the Cabrillo College campus. The Sesnon House may be rented for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Max 230 guests outside dining, max 130 guests inside dining. Rental includes the following: use of all rooms and the back terrace and lawn, room setup, use of Sesnon furniture inside or on the covered terrace and a facility attendant for the entire event. Only one event is booked per weekend at this time.

The students and staff who put on the event were all fantastic! Everyone was so professional and kind! My wife and I didn’t get to try any appetizers so when we sat down for dinner...
we asked a student if they could bring us each one and she came back with a whole plate full! Another student (completely unprompted by us) boxed up some of the delicious cookies they made us in a to go box because we didn’t get any of those either. Their attention to detail was phenomenal, and all our guests (and us) absolutely loved the food. Many people told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had. If we had to do it over again we would absolutely return to sesnon house!

options to customize the menu. For example, we wanted to incorporate chestnuts and dates into our menu. We had this Korean traditional ceremony where our parents gave us blessings with chestnuts and dates. Chef Andrea customized hors d'oeuvre to be roasted chestnut crostini. We also had desserts with them - chocolate chestnut cakes & a family-recipe date bar. It was awesome. Many people complimented our food, and it made me very happy because food is such an important factor in our lives (I am Korean and we live in NYC - food is all we care about haha). Students of culinary school prepared and served our food - it was such an honor to have those enthusiasm and joy on our big day.
The venue comes with the day of coordinator - Chrissy. I can't say enough about her. She is the best. After the first meeting with her, I told my husband "I think we're in good hands". She is a seasoned professional who knows the ins-and-outs of the wedding.
In general, it is a great venue with a great price & great staff. Highly recommend.

m outside for lawn games! The catering is provided by the culinary arts department at the college, and we were very impressed with the students and the food! Our guests agreed that the food was excellent and the staff was friendly and professional. One thing I would have done differently was change the timeline of events. It is a relatively fast event time (5 hours, unless you pay for extra) and in hindsight I wish I spent an extra 30 minutes at dinner and socializing with guests instead of dancing. Also I would recommend to be diligent about following up with the staff about rentals/plans etc. The corrections we made to the rental contract got lost and the day before the due date, I was correcting the rental list (umbrellas, side dishes, etc). Overall, everything turned out fine and we had a wonderful wedding day!

It comes with a day of coordinator, what more could you ask for! We also chose to use Jeremy and the students with the Cabrillo culinary arts program and they were AMAZING! So professional, courteous and there was never a time that I couldn't find an appetizer or someone to help me. Also, the food is to DIE FOR! No matter what menu you choose it will be DELICIOUS! If you're looking to throw an affordable wedding in Santa Cruz USE THE SESNON HOUSE!!! Seriously, you won't be disappointed.

The venue is beautiful and multifaceted; we loved that it had multiple different indoor and outdoor areas, and needs very little decoration because it’s already so lovely. Chrissy, the house coordinator, and her assistant Jenny were very helpful with planning and setup. The chef, Jeremy, was really great in handling our menu as well as all the rentals we needed, and the Cabrillo students and staff were totally professional. This is really a “one-stop shop,” and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious too! We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone getting married in the Santa Cruz area.

y day ran smoothly. I could not have had a better reception venue. The plus to this venue is that the culinary students of Cabrillo College cater the entire event (my guests even raved about the food saying it was the best wedding food they ever had). I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an indoor/outdoor location.

it's PERFECT. And it's so easy to decorate, we hardly to had to have anything added to make the place look beautiful. The staff was friendly and professional. This venue is ideal, it's inexpensive, the food is great, and getting the entire house for 8 hours is such a deal. This is a historic mansion that was donated to a local junior college. They run the culinary arts academy out of it (there is a restaurant the students run for lunches and dinners a few days a week) and that is why catering is included, and it's a little less expensive. Students cook the food but it was amazing! I wouldn't have dreamed of a better overall experience.;The only thing I would suggest is doing the indoor/outdoor set up. If you have over 50 people (we had 100) eating indoors I've heard isn't as nice because the rooms in the mansion are a little smaller and you have to split up the tables (about 4 to each room or so). Outdoors this wasn't an issue, one room held the buffet, and everyone sat at tables around the lawn area. Otherwise the Sesnon House is wonderful.
