All we had to do was drop off the items we wanted included and they even set those up for us. Megan and Rachel were responsive and answered all our questions prior to our wedding and easily handled anything that came up on our wedding day. They thought about the little details and addressed all of our concerns, especially planning during COVID. We can’t recommend this venue strongly enough.

at Sewickley. With less than one month to plan, Megan was FANTASTIC to work with. She responded quickly, worked with guidelines, listened to my vision, and helped us make budget friendly decisions. Even during the reception, she was present and helped the day go smoothly. She was wonderful and despite COVID she helped our reception go better than we could have ever imagined it.

s exactly the night I imagined! We received so many compliments, and we still do even two weeks after our wedding, on how beautiful everything was. The only thing--if anything at all--I wished I had more clarification on, and perhaps I should have thought to ask this myself, was what would happen to the meals of our no-shows. We had about 5 people who unexpectedly didn't/couldn't come, and obviously we still had to pay for those meals because they had been prepared, but I do wish I knew what happened to them. I don't think guests were given anything extra to take home and my parents (who paid for the venue) weren't given any extra boxed meals, so I do hope they were either donated or the staff was allowed to have them because I hate to think of that food being thrown away! Other than that slight miscommunication--and it's something I probably should have asked about--I have no other complaints. Again, the decorations, lighting, service, just everything, was exactly as I had imagined it.

smoothly. It did not. She wasn't responsive. She lied about our wedding being the only event of the week - that is not true. She did not treat us nicely. She was mad that we wanted the cocktail hour outside because it was extra work for her staff. Etc., etc. Don't book your wedding here! Pick somewhere where they are organized and on top of things.

n making process. She even went so far as to suggest cuts we could do to save some money (we had a health issue just weeks out from the wedding and money suddenly got tight). There are so many great things that this venue offers but the staff is the best of them all. I was permitted to bring all of my decorations and start decorating the Wednesday before my wedding and, by Friday, everything was done so I didn't have to worry about decorations the day of the wedding. I also had some table issues the day before and Megan worked with me not only to help reorganize them, but her team even re-did the tables so I could go to my rehearsal dinner. They also utilized the extra decorations that I brought in ways that I hadn't even imagined ^_^ And, after the big day was over, they tore everything down and put it in storage for us and I had a week to pick it up. This early set up time and allowance to pick up your decorations later was HUGE seeing as we had so much family in town. It really took the pressure off ^_ ^ Also, the day of, the staff was AMAZING!!! They were constantly around making sure that we had everything we needed. Megan acted as almost a "Day of Coordinator" and kept me from worrying about small details. We even had a small hiccup when a ring was lost and the staff stopped to help us look for it. The food was WONDERFUL! The location BEAUTIFUL! I really don't have enough words to describe just how fabulous the day was and how blessed and grateful we are to this venue and it's staff. We will *always* recommend!!!

this past November, 2017. Nicole is wonderful to work wit and really tailors to your "wedding vision." The chef is outstanding and put together street tacos with calamari, chicken and mahi-mahi and a delicious fajita bar with carne asada, pollo and a vegetarian option for the main course! We also had a soup station and salads served. Our guests said this was by far the best wedding the'd gone to! The prices are also extremely reasonable...highly recommend this venue!

idn't run into my groom before the wedding! The guys loved getting ready there too. We did not have our ceremony there. We loved taking beautiful photos around the club, and my husband and I loved getting to use a golf cart to go around with our photographer to take private photos around the property. Our reception was so beautiful (didn't go with chair covers but did go with twinkle lights from the ceiling), and they were very helpful with our sparkler sendoff. The food was also delicious, and they were awesome about dietary restrictions and last-minute changes. We don't live in the area but were able to come the weekend before our wedding for some last minute things. We were to go back home that Sunday night and wouldn't be back to Pittsburgh until early Thursday, two days before the wedding. That Sunday, we brought most of our decorations for the club to put up for us (I had very explicit instructions with each), and they added their tea lights to our decor which was nice. It was great to not have to worry about that, and everything looked awesome! While our wedding turned out perfectly, I have to say there were some things I was disappointed with. Megan was very responsive to us at first, but towards the end, she was not. I am not sure what would have happened if I didn't handle logistics and events professionally! I made sure everything I had was in writing, and I was careful to follow everything up with email (many of my emails were not responded to!). I requested a final meeting with Megan the week before the wedding, and she confirmed noon that Sunday, to go over the reception timeline and how the decor would be laid out. When we arrived, Megan was not there! We met with Nicki, who was great, but she didn't know about our meeting! If she hadn't been there, we wouldn't have had a meeting to go over our timeline and decorations, less than a week before the wedding, when our jobs wouldn't let us be in Pittsburgh that week. Two days later (4 days before the wedding) we finally got an estimate (not including alcohol which is based on consumption). We had been misquoted for the lights (but they were willing to use the quoted price after we pointed that out), the table overlays were really expensive (we had never told they would be an added charge), and the place cards were $2 each! We had been told we HAD to use their place cards, but once we found out the price we asked to not have to use them, which they permitted, but that did leave us writing out 145 place cards the week of the wedding, which I could have easily done weeks before, had we been told we could have brought our own! In short, the work they do there is beautiful, but you really need to be on top of things yourself, and do not be afraid to ask questions!! To be honest I was completely relaxed the day before the wedding, so all issues were worked out by then, and the only communication I had with the club was to add liquor to our bar, which they accommodated at the late hour! Our wedding day was the perfect fairytale, and I would definitely do it at SHGC again, but I would pay extremely close attention to every single detail again!

eremony and reception perfect. We wanted an outdoor wedding that was still classy and formal, and we got exactly that! We were planning the wedding while living in Maryland but Megan made the process as easy as possible - organizing our rentals, coordinating our vendors, and going out of her way to understand exactly what Garrett and I wanted. We ended up doing the ceremony and the reception at SHGC and both were outside. Megan completely organized the tent, dance floor, tables, draping, and lighting, and she was also in charge of setting up our ceremony site on the actual fairway, which was gorgeous! She also had lots of great ideas throughout the wedding process (such as having the bridal party get introduced to the reception on golf carts and to also get upscale rental bathrooms for the outdoor space so that our guests did not have to walk up the hill to the Club to use the restroom). The entire staff was fantastic and the food was amazing - Chef Martin also met with us on several occasions to help us plan a menu that would be perfect for our outdoor wedding. The club also gave us access to their locker rooms for the day so the bridal party had lots of space to get ready and relax during the day and before the reception. Overall, we got so many compliments about the venue, the food, the tent, and the service! We would HIGHLY recommend having your wedding there, especially if you are looking for a personalized experience where you would like to ensure that your own personalities are incorporated into the event. those brides that worried about little details, and Megan was there to remind me of what I needed to do. We chose SHGC because we wanted an outdoor venue. Megan and the staff did an amazing job putting up little white lights and candles and making it look like a fairy land on the patio. It was unfortunately VERY hot...I think the high hit 95, but the staff did a great job keeping water glasses full and fans on high. The Chef here is absolutely incredible. Our guests were raving about our food, and said it wasn't just the best wedding food they'd had, but some of the best food period. The Chef loved that we got creative and wanted to do something non-traditional, so this is the place for you if you want a Mediterranean feast or a Mexican fiesta. Megan also suggested that we set off paper lanterns towards the end of the night, and it was so magical, and a wonderful suggestion. Thank you so much to everyone involved who made our day wonderful!

courtesy and competence. Megan is great about returning emails and text messages and this was greatly appreciated. Chef Martin Thomas exceeded expectations with the quality of the food. And the wait staff was attentive and efficient. My advice: have your event at this place and you will be very happy that you did!

r reception. Chef Martin also accommodated our vegan guests who loved their entire selection. Booking early was vital to get the date we wanted, as well as to lock in 2014 pricing. Overall, I would highly recommend SHGC.

They make you feel welcomed and at ease, and they handle every detail or concern you may have. the communication and service were impeccable. From the initial meeting, to our private tasting...everything was first class. Chef is so passionate about his menu, the food is fresh and delicious with a wonderful selection. Every person involved in our wedding cared as much or more, than we did........Our wedding was so beautiful, more than we could have ever imagined....and the most important thing, is that Megan and her staff made every second a pleasure!!! Our memories are nothing but joy and happiness from the first day of planning until the wedding day.....They also work with you, so you can adjust for your budget and let you use the club's vases, decorations, etc. Anything they can provide...they will......So thank you Megan, Chef, Jeff, Nicole, Wendy, and the entire staff!!! sal dinner there on Friday, which was an AWESOME Mexican-style fiesta!! Such a fun event for our wedding party, family, and out of town guests!! Additionally - my husband and his groomsmen were able to golf the course on the wedding day. My advice here is GET ON THE SCHEDULE EARLY!! My husband waited too long to schedule, and the event coordinator, Megan Wine, had to move some things around to accommodate them (but she did so graciously and effectively!). Megan was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process from our first visit to end of the wedding night. She was laid back, but focused - a good match to a bride's overwhelmed feelings at that time in her life!! Anything I needed - Megan would think of it or make it happen, but w/o any fussiness (I'm a little high strung, so her calm and cool "we'll take care of it, no problem" attitude was a phenomenal fit for me). The food, and the chef who expertly prepares it, are also top-notch. The chef meets w/ you and helps you choose your menu - a nice touch for "foodies" (or aspiring foodies like my husband and I are! ;))! They pretty much let us takeover the club on our wedding night - we did pictures all over the course, in the bar area, on the patio, etc., and all of the patrons were so kind and accommodating about it. Very cool. It was a gorgeous and unique way to have our wedding and reception - I honestly would not have changed a thing! Having everything at one location made for SUCH a simple and easy planning process, plus you get Megan, who works out all the details and guides you through the entire process. There was also another young gentleman who was there through everything and just made us feel super comfortable - like as long as we could find Megan or him - our POCs, everything would be solid - and it was! If you're looking for a unique wedding day, w/o excess planning and hoopla, this is the way to go!!!

In end we did not go with them because we felt our wedding might be a little tight in their space. They were very reasonably priced and willing to work within my budget.

The ceremony was conducted under the club's pristine tent; complete with lovely decorations and overlooking the beautiful golf course. After the ceremony, the Chef dazzled all of us with his organic and delicious appetizers. The candle lit reception was held in the ball room; a very accomodating and flexible space. The menu was creative, simple and wonderful. The service was stellar! Our guests danced the night away on the hardwood dance floor. The Club worked with the musicians, wedding planners, the D.J. and all who were involved with enthusiasm. The pricing was very, very fair. It was a great event and I highly recommend The Sewickley Heights Golf Club for the bride that wants the ultimate in food and service; in a perfectly beautiful setting.
