About this vendor
Ladies Bridal & Formal Dress Alterations are my specialty and I focus exclusively on these. There is no charge for a 1st fitting/consultation appointment. At your 1st fitting, I listen to your dreams and desires for your dress and then I make recommendations based on my 25 years of professional experience. Price quotes are given at your 1st fitting appointment. No payment is due until you pickup your dress. I give my clients my honest view of what looks best for each of them and I work with the goal of making your dress fit like a glove. Clients say that I am a perfectionist and that my prices are very reasonable. Sewing Cinderella was named to The Knot best of weddings Hall of Fame in 2024. I work from my home studio. I do all the alterations work myself. This gives me complete control over the quality of the alterations (I do not employ or contract with any other seamstresses). I work by appointment only. Olena, the owner, did a fabulous job on my wedding dress! She was professional and great with communication. Her prices were appropriate for the wonderful quality if her work. She ...
was very honest about the work that needed to be done for my dress- making suggestions on how improve the structure and make the dress work best for me while also not trying to upcharge me at any point. Her work was exceptional- my dress fit like a glove. There were significant portions of see through lace with my dress that she reworked perfectly to ensure my dress fit well but also maintained its original look.
Olena was amazing!! We are from out of town and I was super nervous about getting my wedding dress altered. Olena made the process efficient, enjoyable, and did an amazing job. I a...
m so happy we put our faith with Olena because it turned out beautifully! She takes great care in her work, and will be completely honest with you about what will work and what won't, and also has helpful recommendations to ensure everything turns out the way you want. She has a great eye for this and is super talented. Highly recommend!
Olena is a master seamstress! She does a great job resolving fitting issues. She is honest, straightforward and priced very reasonably. She has worked on my daughter’s wedding dre...
ss, a bridesmaid dress, a mother of the bride dress and another formal long dress. I have always been super pleased with all her work. I highly recommend her!

Trying to warn brides against this vendor! I am a month removed from my wedding and still upset about my experience with Sewing Cinderella. I chose her because of how positive her ...
reviews are but She offers discounts for reviews, yet I was not offered this discount because I believe she knew I would be unhappy with her work. After already having dropped my dress off with her her, I expressed frustration to multiple people and they told me they also do not recommend her (one of them was my wedding coordinator who said "never book her").
My issues were that she claims to be a perfectionist but put simply, gave me an unfinished dress. My dress had a sweeping train and she offered me the option of 3 or 5 point bustle and that I could use some safety pins to make up the difference. I went with the 3 point option based off her recommendation. When I returned she told me I needed a 4 point bustle and that I would need over 25 safety pins to successfully bustle the gown. She offered to add 2 more points right then but said I would still need safety pins to make it work. I declined as I was frustrated with my experience and that I would need to pay more and STILL have to safety pin my wedding dress the Day of. One of the bustle strings broke before I even got to the reception. We did not end up safety pinning the dress simply because we didn't have time and I felt it would look cheap (the dress and the alterations were not cheap. I paid 550 for a 3 point bustle, hem, and elastic added to my detached sleeves). I had bought a knee length reception dress as a backup that I wore instead. I am devasted I did not get to wear my dream dress all night.
When I left a negative review stating only facts, sewing Cinderella responded to it saying that I needed a 7 point bustle and that I chose the cheapest option despite her recommendations. I was never offered a 7 point bustle and only did the 3 point because she made me feel that it was an acceptable option.
There were additional issues but her lying online to save face is my biggest problem. She is trying to make me sound cheap when she never gave me options that would have made my dress wearable the whole night.

e perfect and ready the day before i had to head out. she steamed it and sent me out happy and ready! she’s got a great gift and a well trained eye. I highly recommend recommend her if you’re in the GR area. Thank you Sewing Cinderella!
I was excited to work with Olena / Sewing Cinderella for alterations on my wedding dress after seeing all the incredible reviews from other brides, and I’m happy to be another one!...
She did a wonderful job hemming my dress which has a very detailed and scalloped train. Her reapplication of the beaded appliques was so seamless and everything was turned around within 2 months. If you are in search of a seamstress in the greater GR area, look no further!!
Olena did an awesome job on my difficult dress! I took my rehearsal dinner dress to her and she made it fit PERFECT. I would absolutely use her again.
She was MEAN. All I went for was an hemming. She suggested more work but never measured anything. She butchered my dress so small and this is the smallest I’ve ever been in my adul...
t life. The bottom hem is crooked and there’s like tangles of string sewn in making knots of fabric. She was rude to my mother and sister in law. She leaves pins all in the floor for you to step on and injure yourself. I never saw measuring tape once. She YELLED at me when trying to show me the bustle and as someone with ptsd I instantly cried. My mother in law had to hold my hand to make me calm down in that cramped tiny attic space…. I had such high hopes for this seamstress because she had so many amazing reviews. But she’s pressuring people to give her 5 star reviews out of fear and bullying. I doubt any of these reviews are authentically what the brides experienced. $800 for me to hate my dress and my entire experience with this woman. We were BEYOND gracious with her and she kept raising her voice like a tyrant.
Olena was absolutely brilliant! She has you put on your dress and asks you what you’d like done and she tells you exactly what she can and cannot do. She is very upfront which is h...
onestly the best because can tell that she knows what she is doing! You can see that she has been doing this for a long time and the work she does is not even comparable to others out there! I would highly, highly recommend her to anyone and everyone! I will absolutely go back to her if I ever need any other work done!
Olena is spectacular! She altered my dress fo perfection, she is very intricate. I absolutely loved my results.

e were done in 3 sessions total. She was quick, efficient, clear from the beginning how much the alterations would cost and let me know as soon as we decided to do something how much it would add to the total. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend her to any and everyone for alterations.
Very quick turn around, and excellent work. I’ve gone here for multiple things!

k up process and made me feel very comfortable leaving my dress with her. She had it finished quickly and when I tried it on, it was a perfect fit! Highly recommend Olena from Sewing Cinderella for any bridal alterations needed.
She did such an amazing job - I would absolutely trust her to do any wedding dress!
Alterations on mother of the bride dress that was complicated and did an outstanding job! It fits like a glove she made it look better than it did on the models. Very professional
Very fast and did what was best for me and my dress!!

Great seamstress for bridal dress! Very easy to work with! Highly recommend!
Olena‘s work is meticulous and beautiful, with the added bonus that she has a flair for fashion, and knows exactly how the dress should be worn. Most recently, I bought an expensiv...
e, shimmery, long gown (for my niece’s wedding reception) that was even longer in the back….with a modified train. I wanted the dress to be hemmed, so that I could walk in it without tripping… but I wanted to keep the same dimensions/ratio of front to back length. This was very important to retain the style of the dress. Olena not only understood, but she gave me her input as to how the sheer layer should be just a bit longer than the under layer, and she agreed that she would also allow for my request that my sparkly sandals would show just a bit. The result? She nailed it!!! The result was just PERFECT!!!
This is the third dress which I have brought to Olena to hem over the past 3 years, and all three times I have been absolutely thrilled with the results. She is amazing at her craft!!! I will never go to anyone else!!!
Outstanding seamstress, timely delivery, prompt communicator. Trustworthy.

chedule. She was great about communicating cost at our very first visit. She did an excellent job with all of the alterations. I expected her to do, but she also is very knowledgeable and recommended other alterations that I never would’ve thought of. When I went for my last appointment with her, she recommended taking a video of her bustling my wedding dress, which was super beneficial on the day of my wedding and was just another example of her experience. She just thought of things that I never would have. She is knowledgeable, skilled, and I would go back to her again in the future!
Olena is a miracle worker!!!

rk best for the Bride AND the dress, and she is truly so talented. Every stitch, change, and fix is handled with great care!
My dress had a lace hem on the bottom. Olena was able to detach and reattach part of it in order to hem the dress appropriately and you couldn't tell that lace was moved (even looking at it up close!). She also created the most beautiful 8-point bustle (I had a long train) so we could still see all the beautiful lace while I danced all night long. At my final fitting, Olena left safety pins where each of the hooks were placed so she could teach my Mom how to help bustle my dress. She ran through the steps multiple times so there were no questions on the big day and it was simple to do!
We are so thankful for Olena and her beautiful work. I wish I could rate her more than 5 stars!!!

has an eye for detail and the dress and its bustle were perfect.
After the wedding, I asked her to shorten the wedding dress to knee length so that I would be able to wear it again and it turned out so beautifully. Again no issues whatsoever and all of the details were perfect.
I also asked her to help with a bridesmaids dress for a wedding I’m in and that dress looks great too.
If I need help with any formal wear in the future, I will definitely go back to Sewing Cinderella
So helpful and knowledgeable.
Flexible with scheduling and helpful to take the time to each both my mom and i what exactly my dress needs
On time responses, good communication.

k with the delicate material of my dress. Dress was Lilium by Alexandra Grecco which is a fitted silk dress with a lot of applique at the top. I am really glad I worked with her, and would recommend her to others!

She is absolutely amazing and does the best work. I highly recommend her to anyone. She made me feel so comfortable and wasn't trying to charge me for every thing.

d tell that she truly cared about getting every detail just right. Her work speaks for itself, and I can’t recommend her enough!
With so many glowing reviews, I chose to go here. My experience with Olena was poor to say the least. She was not friendly. She was aggressive, highly opinionated/dismissive of my ...
requests, and in the end rushed me out of her place unsatisfied and confused. To get to the alterations portion of her home, it is un-pleasant and cluttered from entry to/including the room where she measures you for alterations. At my last alterations appt, When I asked her if she was finished with my dress because I had seen the rough hem when I tried it on, she looked at me like I had severely offended her and told me "of course it is". She is intimidating and therefore not someone that is easy to stand up to in the moment, especially when it involves your precious wedding dress, so I left with it. She did do some good work on the upper portion of my dress and the bussel, but as you can see in the photo I have attached, the top photo is the hem of my dress when I went home with it. When I called her to ask her to re-hem it due to actually wanting it to be shorter, she told me to go to someone else, that she wouldn't make it shorter because it would look bad in her opinion. I went to someone else, who cleaned up the hem as shown in the bottom photo and shortened my dress as requested. My 2nd seamstress also noted this: "...the side seam(the seam that joins the front of the skirt to the back of the skirt) had a more than 4 inch discrepancy..."
With all of this being said, it should be a fun, magical, and lovely experience going to get your dress altered for your wedding, & the way that YOU want it to look, but instead it was anxiety filled each time. I do not recommend that you go here for dress alterations.
She is very skilled and did amazing work in altering my dress. Everything came together for the big day, and the dress was stunning!
Absolutely amazing!! So so nice and the quality of work was fantastic!

tastic job! Beyond that, being a 2020 bride, she was so accommodating, even holding onto/storing my dress for over 6 months given the uncertainty COVID had caused and dealing with my 2 reschedules, my final wedding being in July 2022. I would highly recommend! Her pricing is more than reasonable, I even paid her extra knowing the seamstress in CO, where I bought my dress, had quoted me nearly double. You can’t go wrong with Olena, highly recommend! She works out of her home, but her studio upstairs is private and comfortable.
She did an awesome/timely job! She sewed extra lace in the bodice to make me feel more comfortable and even helped teach us how to bustle the dress! None of the bustle clips got ri...
