intuition and insisted on trying it on. I was not able to zip it as I found out she cut all the fabric away and could not let out the dress as she was suppose to. I am 5’7” and 115 pounds and wear a size 0 dress. Mrs Olsen got nasty with me as she left the room to come back with a check for half of the pre-paid alteration amount thrown back at me. I was told “there’s nothing more I can do for you, now leave!” I left crying as I now had no dress to wear for my daughters wedding. I do not want this experience to happen to anyone else. It should be the happiest day of your life.

dress with a large A-line skirt of at least 3 layers. The fabric was a man-made. There was a long a list of the work to be done. The biggest problem with the gown was the collapsing of the bust. The dress was over beaded at the bust and that contributed to the bust collapse. The bodice of the dress needs to fit very securely, tightly. You found it too tight so I let is out (see the star on the page) nothing was cut out. The A-line skirt was where you felt it was too large. Because it was an A-line skirt it starts out at the waist tightly then go straight out to the sides making it fitted at the waist and wider and wider as it heads to the hem. After working on the waist Friday, and Saturday you came to the appointment on Sunday with a very nice friend. Unfortunately, she was neither a seamstress nor a recreational sewer. She admitted to not having sewn in years. Your friend proceeded to tell me how to fix the dress. I knew this was a lost project and I had a lot of work to do so I followed your friend’s directions. As I said I was very sorry. Also, I cannot change your perception of your hip area. I had your check prepared and as you left, I gave you the check for the full amount you paid for your alterations. I never was rude or told you to leave. Again, I am very sorry I could not make you happy.

f her house, and only takes one appointment at a time. Her house is easy to get to, and I chose her because I could easily stop there on my way home from work - great for my appointments closer to my final fitting as I could stop by quickly. My first appointment was 7 months in advance, where we discussed the overall timeline and strategy for the alterations. Work really didn't start until 3 months out. Margaret was flexible with timing of appointments, and left enough room in between other appointments to account for lateness or extra time in the visit. I never felt rushed, and she always took the time to explain what needed to happen and how long it would take in regards to dress fixes. She noticed things I did not (such as missing buttons on the train). She let me reschedule a visit that took place after Superbowl weekend. She has recommended that I let the dress out, but I wanted to wait until the superbowl snack aftermath had time to dissipate, and it did by the end of the week! For the shortening of the dress, she altered her approach as I thought there was 4" pattern in the lace that I wanted moved up and she had suggested only 1" be moved up. It was great being listened too and she made the adjustment to her approach with time to spare in our timeline. She recommended a french bustle, and gave amazing detailed instructions to my bridesmaid in how to execute the bustle on my wedding day. She is a character and will keep you laughing during your visits. If you have the time, I highly recommend her - as she does her best work when not rushed.

feel so comfortable. She also took care of ordering the under the dress essentials for me, which was one less thing for the bride to be to stress over! If you have any formal gown you need altered, you can trust her with it.

make it fit like a glove. For my wedding dress she was awesome. She allowed my photographer and crew to come to her home and shoot video for our wedding doc. She also pressed my husband's shirt for the wedding. She is extremely accommodating, flexible and pays very close attention to detail. Everything was amazing and i would highly recommend her.
