The team at Shade & Strand with Heather and Neva were incredible and brought such joy to our wedding day! They captured exactly what I envisioned for my hair and makeup on my wedding day. From the initial consultation with my trial to the wedding day, I felt like every last detail I imagined was brought to life for the wedding day. Not to mention the look lasted all night long on the dance floor. They managed to fit in hair and makeup for all my bridesmaids plus the MOB and MOG seamlessly. I can't thank the Shade & Strand team enough for helping me and my bridesmaids feel beautiful on my wedding day! Definitely would recommend for any San Diego brides to be.

Wonderful experience with this team!! Heather and Tiffany were outstanding! From the beginning I appreciated how responsive and helpful Heather was in connecting with me and understanding my needs and vision for my wedding look. She set my mind at ease with a trial run, and then for the big day once again nailed it! Heather created a beautiful vintage glam look for my hair and Tiffany also knocked it out of the park with glam makeup! Victoria and Charee did a fabulous job with my hair and makeup and the rest of my bridal party! They were professional, knowledgable, and made the entire process fun and stress free!

Heather and Tiffany did an amazing job! They arrived promptly on the wedding day and were quick and efficient. Their prices are very reasonable and their services are easy to understand. After a short description or inspiration photo, they immediately understood what each person wanted and got it right every time. Heather also styled my husband's long curly hair into a beautiful braid. She is the only one he trusts with his hair from this point forward! We had so much fun with them and made us all feel our best!

If you are looking for a fun and talented artist for your wedding hair and makeup look no further! Heather was so awesome to work with for my wedding earlier this month. She did a fantastic job bringing my vision to life, I felt so beautiful! I'm super glad I did a trial session because I really got to fine-tune what I wanted and get to know Heather too. But even with my bridesmaid's and my mom's hair and makeup on the wedding day she did a fantastic job and was very accommodating to what they wanted. I would 1000% recommend working with Heather, she is so sweet and so talented!

I am absolutely grateful and still in awe that I was so lucky to have come across Shade and Strand for hair/makeup services for my wedding this past July! I had the pleasure of working with Heather and Tiffany for my wedding, and they truly exceeded ALL expectations. As an overview: 1. Convenient Trials: The makeup and hair trials were a breeze. Booking was easy, and communication with both Heather and Tiffany was seamless. They understood my vision and executed it flawlessly. For my makeup, I showed Tiffany 1-2 photos and trusted her with the rest, and I was so blown away by how she was able to perfectly capture what I envisioned! For my hair trial, Heather was very open-minded and ready to incorporate feedback to the final hairstyle so we can reach the ideal look! 2. Punctuality and Efficiency: On the big day, they arrived early and set up professionally before the bridesmaids even arrived. Their timing was impeccable—within the time frame they promised, they had us looking stunning. There was ample time for feedback and adjustments to achieve the perfect final look for EACH bridesmaid and mom, and we didn’t feel rushed in any way! It was incredible to see how well they work with the time they’ve got, and hearing Tiffany’s stories throughout the morning highlighted our time together with a million laughs and jokes! Our morning felt so warm, stress-free, and lighthearted because of them. 3. Smooth Wedding Prep: Heather and Tiffany provided valuable suggestions on when to start their services based on our readiness deadline. Despite the pressure of a wedding morning, they remained calm and focused. No rushing—just a well-executed process. Heather was great about reminding me what information I need to relay to the girls as well, such as when to tell the girls to arrive to the location for hair/makeup and how to prep the night before. 4. Comfort and Excitement: What truly stood out was their warmth. They made us feel comfortable and excited. It’s rare to find professionals who blend talent with genuine care. Heather’s professionalism was mind blowing and it was so comforting to know that I could trust Heather if I had any questions I wanted to bounce off of her. And Tiffany - I wish everyone in this world could meet her! She can make everyone in the room feel amazing without even trying. In summary, Heather and Tiffany are an absolute dream team, and I am so happy they got to be a part of our day. I can’t express how wonderful my experience was with them, but if I could rate past 5/5 stars, I would do it without hesitation! Thank you, Heather and Tiffany, for everything! :)

Heather's team was amazing, and if I ever have another event where I need hair and makeup I will absolutely go back to them. I had a difficult time with the original HMU team I planned to book, and 3 weeks before the wedding I decided to switch to Shade and Strand and I'm so glad I did. The entire team was a pleasure to work with and such a vibe on the morning of my wedding. Everyone was great, but Tiffany's makeup was truly the standout for me. It was everything I could have wanted and more. At my trial I didn't have the words to explain the lipstick color I wanted and she was so patient while she helped me figure out what I was trying to describe to her. She eventually ended up creating a custom color on the spot and it was the exact shade I had been trying (and failing miserably) to articulate.
