The pictures turned out simply gorgeous and they did not complain once while sweating in the blistering heat. My husband and I do not consider ourselves photogenic and usually feel awkward when posing for pictures. If you are the same way, not to worry! Sara helped us along every single part of the way and by our wedding day, we felt confident. Unfortunately, some of our vendors used their “weekend people” during our wedding day as opposed to the coordinators we were in contact with all year. These “weekend people” were very nice but definitely not as experienced and up to par as the usual Monday through Friday, 9-5 coordinators. Immediately Sara jumped in and filled in the gaps where we needed. Not only did she get all the shots we wanted- she fixed all the groomsmen’s boutonnieres that were hastily placed, she coordinated part of the scheduled events on our wedding when there was confusion, she was the messenger running back and forth to communicate between the bridal party, she was my bobby pin girl when my up do was falling, and so much more. With all honesty, without her- I do not believe our special day would have gone as smoothly as it did. Sara was always so patient/flexible with us, even when she set a schedule for the day and we unknowingly changed it last minute with the DJ. Our wedding pictures turned out even more perfect than our engagement pictures. From the family portraits, pictures of our ceremony, to the candid shots on the dance floor- again, we could not be happier. All of our family and friends were so impressed and many inquired about their services. We cannot wait to use them again in the future. From the first time we met Sara and Chris they already made us feel welcome and as if we were their only priority – which what bride doesn’t like feeling like the center of attention? From engagement photos, to that damn timeline and finally the big day, Sara was there to lend a hand every step of the way (even while she was trying to plan her own wedding!) During the whole process we felt like we were working more with a couple of old friends than just another vendor. The relationship Sara and Chris create with their clients is genuine. Their photography style is unique in they enjoy capturing those “in the moment” shots versus everyone always being posed, looking at the camera. Those photos capture all the emotion and joy on our wedding day, not just by us but by our family and friends as well.

s. Sara and Chris are both so genuine and positive and really made time to get to know us, and talk to us. They went above and beyond their roles of “photographer”; Chris offering to get me water, tracking down my lipstick and both of them keeping our wedding party of 20 under control! We had our ceremony and reception in the same place (The Villa Terrace), with just an hour in between – things could have gotten very hectic trying to get all the photos in, but Sara was SO organized and kept everyone moving. She came prepared with her timeline, was extremely professional and because of that everything happened seamlessly. Now, let’s talk about the photos! When we received the photos back, I just had tears in my eyes instantly – for someone to be able to capture such a cherished day so perfectly, that is talent. Sara and Chris have such an eye for detail and emotions, and because of that we will be taken back to our wedding day every time we look through the photos (which so far has been almost every day!). I was not always sure about what to do for certain things, such as location for our photo shoots, but Sara was there to offer advice and to help me find good places to take beautiful photos. She thought of really cool & beautiful ideas I would never consider/think of on my own (such as Discovery world in the wintertime!) In addition to taking great pictures and capturing our day perfectly, she is very helpful and thorough. I had a lot of questions, which she always answered in a timely fashion. Sometimes, dealing with things such as vendor contracts can be confusing and overwhelming, but she helped make everything clear and easy. She was also there for us for questions about the wedding day in general, going above and beyond- for example, helping us figure out what a good ‘day of’ timeline might look like. She is very laid back and you can tell she is in this business for the right reasons, and she really cares. I was on the fence about having one or two photographers, and she helped me discuss the pros and cons of 1 vs 2 shooters in a no-pressure way so that I could come to the choice that was best for us on our day. Overall, if you choose Shaffer photo, you will #1 get amazing photos. But, you will also get so much more, and that is why I would recommend Sara (and Chris!)

The photographs from my son and new daughter in law’s wedding are not only beautiful, but they truly capture the emotions of the whole day. My husband and I are not very photogenic and Sara was so good about telling us exactly where to stand, where to place our hands, etc. She made the entire experience so comfortable and captured the look for our photographs that we were trying to achieve. After our engagement photos were taken, Sara followed up with us right away and was very willing to answer any questions or concerns we had. Prior to the wedding day, Sara was excellent at checking in and seeing what we disliked from the engagement pictures so that she could be spot on with the wedding photos. thing. The amount of time put forth from me to get plans set was made 10 times harder due to companies not caring. It was a breath of fresh air when Sara text me. Not only did she put forth the effort to get to know myself and my now husband. She genuinely cared about us, the photos we were going to receive and time she put in. She put in the extra effort that every bride deserves. She even had a back up plan if it were to rain. And another back up location to that. To find someone - these days - who actually cares about their job and puts forth that much more effort is rare. I was beyond thrilled to find that our pictures were beautiful. Which, I knew they would be. She is a class act and I would hire her again for anything else we do.

before our engagement session, so we were a little nervous and rigid. It definitely showed in our first couple of pictures. BUT, Sara had us laughing and at ease within minutes. The pictures turned out beautiful, and we had a great time frolicking through the woods and meadows with her. She was a counselor, personal assistance, timekeeper, people wrangler, dress holder - YOU NAME IT! Sara dealt with the wind, frigid temps, and rain to get the pictures that we wanted. She guided us, our bridal party, and families with ease. Several guests came up to us to compliment us on our photographer for being so personable and willing to get the shots that they wanted during the reception. Honestly, what more can you ask for?!
