Shahla Karimi is a contemporary fine jewelry and bridal line founded in 2014. Karimi wanted to design jewelry that captured human desire to embrace and express their memories and individuality in precious metals. The work oft distills beauty from the ordinary, featuring a sense of nostalgia, a modern remembrance that the designer has recalled. All pieces are hand made in New York City with recycled gold and conflict-free stones. Custom bridal and engagement ring design is available both remotely and in her NYC showroom. The brand has adorned the hands and ears of countless celebrities including Elisabeth Moss, Lena Dunham, Rebecca Hall, Carrie Underwood, Rashida Jones, Gigi Hadid and Alexa Chung and has been featured in Elle, W, InStyle, V Magazine, The Coveteur, WWD, and NY Magazine.

I also had the joy of working with Shahla on designing an matching dangle that could be worn with either of the studs (or any earrings with backs). Then entire experience was amazing. And despite the lockdown, Shahla made sure the pieces were made, that I got them in time for the wedding, and that everything was exactly as I’d imagined.

She even incorporated a few of the details from the engagement ring into the band, so they look like they were both created in the same era.
