There's no one I would recommend more than Marisa from Shakeup Makeup to do your wedding makeup! I felt flawless in my own skin! She asked every girl questions: their normal makeup routine, typical dryness of skin, their vision, and more. Every girl in my wedding party loved their makeup and didn't feel that their makeup was caked on them. Marisa enhanced our natural beauty, leaving us all feeling much more confident in ourselves. You get more than a makeup artist with Marisa- you get the hype girl that you've always dreamed about. You get someone who is willing to teach you things while you're in the seat, you get someone who will keep you and your party on time, someone who will remind you to eat and drink before the ceremony begins, you get someone who is willing to break down and dance with you to keep good vibes going, you get someone who will help you with literally anything (cutting tags, clean up, etc). You get someone who genuinely loves what she does and wants you to feel as beautiful as she sees you! My experience with Marisa was beyond words- it was superior! Your experience does not end when she leaves you- she supplies her brides with a personalized pouch with all of the essential items that a bride needs to keep her appearance fresh throughout the reception, including the shade of lipstick she used on you! I can't thank Marisa enough for such a seamless and memorable experience! I'll choose her for any occasion that I need makeup for!
I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Marisa! She is so talented and professional, and did an amazing job on my makeup for my wedding day (and on my daughters’ makeup too!). Marisa did such an amazing job on my bridesmaids, moms and I makeup!! All of
my girls and mom typically wear little to no makeup at all and it was so important to them to not feel like they had heavy makeup and still feel like themselves. Marisa did such an amazing job listening to each of them and bringing out their natural beauty! Everyone felt so gorgeous and makeup looked amazing all night long! She also brings amazing energy, and was such a pleasure to have getting ready in the morning! Couldn’t recommend her enough!!
Marisa is so wonderful! Not only is she extremely talented from a makeup perspective, but she is such a joy to be around. She has such a great vibe and fit in with my entire bridal party. She was even kind enough to assist with two of my bridesmaids who did their own makeup, but were struggling with their lashes! She went above and beyond to make sure my morning went smoothly and that we were all happy with our look. I felt so beautiful and only touched up my makeup once or twice all night (and I have very oily skin so this is outside the norm for me!). Marisa did the makeup for my bridal party and myself on my wedding day and we could not have been happier! Leading up to the wedding my mom and I had gone to multiple different makeup trials with various vendors and each time left feeling so discouraged with heavy creased makeup on our faces. When we met Marisa it was a breath of fresh air. She still used airbrush makeup and fake lashes but that time was different, it was natural and beautiful makeup. We couldn't stop staring at ourselves! On my wedding day it was no different, even my grandmothers makeup was perfect! She is extremely talented but also the kindest human. She fit right in with the family and had just the right positive vibes you hope for the morning of your wedding. My next task is to find a reason to hire Marisa again. I cant thank her enough!
Marisa recently traveled to do my makeup and bridal parties for my wedding. Our makeup came out absolutely perfect. She was able to accommodate everyone’s wants and preferences from airbrush to just lashes. Marisa was a great addition to my wedding day and a pleasure to have around! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to look and feel beautiful on their big day, or any day!

Marisa is amazing at making you feel beautiful! She is attentive and listens to what you want for a look, colors and vibe. I knew I wanted to look very natural but still a little glamorous for my wedding and she nailed it! I had never worn fake lashes and she used the small individual lashes that looked so real and didn't weigh down my eyes. I felt so pretty and my makeup lasted all through the night even after sweating on the dance floor. Marisa is fun, vibrant and so easy to talk to and work with. She also did makeup for my mom, mother in law, grandmother, and two sister in laws and they all loved their makeup and Marisa's professionalism. I would highly recommend Shakeup Makeup to anyone looking for a makeup artist. She will bring your glow out!

Marisa did the makeup for my wedding. This included doing the makeup of my bridal party, my mother, my mother-in-law and my grandmother. We all felt so beautiful! My 85 year old grandma had never had her makeup done before and she could not stop staring at herself and saying are beautiful she felt. I can’t thank Marisa enough for not only doing amazing makeup, but for making us feel like the best looking versions of ourselves!
Marisa is a great MUA! She did my make up for my engagement shoot as well as my wedding. She listened to what I wanted, gave suggestions, and made all of my requests a reality.My bridesmaids loved their makeup as well. She has a fun and down to earth personality that makes for such a pleasant experience. She traveled to Long Island for my wedding and was professional and on time. A friend of mine recently asked me to officiate at her wedding. I was so happy to do it, except for the fact that I would be in so many pictures and videos. I am not a dress up and wear makeup kind of girl. Marisa was there to do makeup for the wedding party and I was a little hesitant. I shouldn't have been. Not only did she do a great job, but it hardly felt like I was wearing any makeup at all! She was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable about what she was doing, and was able to put me at ease and make me feel as though it would be OK for all the guests to have pictures with me in them. I highly recommend her for your event!
Marisa was an absolute necessity to have on my wedding day. She has done my makeup I’m many weddings before my own big day, so new for sure I would want her for my special day. Not only did she know exactly what look I was going for, even though I couldn’t verbalize it well, she made everyone feel and look absolutely gorgeous. The make up was light and felt so natural. But what’s more important what she did for me on this special day was to keep me calm and helped me through many anxiety attacks while dealing with unexpectedly having to rush my pup to the ER. She made sure I was able to breathe through my anxiety and to keep me focused on the beauty all around me. Not to mention she had to fix my make up after a tear fest. I will be using her forever and would highly recommend her, as she stayed calm, cool, collected and kept everything moving even with all the craziness going on around me. For that I am forever grateful that I chose her.

Marisa is a true artist. She was up at 4:30 am to get myself, my mom and bridal party ready for my 11:30 ceremony. She is patient, creative and a perfectionist. I had my make up done by Marisa Paradis. After seeing her work on one of my classmates I immediately contacted her. She had to do my make up for my wedding. And she absolutely did my face justice. I told her I wanted to do a natural look and she did just that. My husband loved my look. She is a wonderful person. Amazing personality. And her work is phenomenal.
Marisa was wonderful to work with. She even traveled through a blizzard to be there on my big day! After my first trial I changed what kind of look I wanted so we did a second trial and she nailed the exact look I was going for, but was having trouble describing. I felt like a million bucks on my big day, and Marisa's work was a large part of that.

Marisa was great! During my trial I thought I wanted a dramatic look. Turns out, didn’t look great on me. Marisa was super flexible and my day of look was totally natural and she really made me look like myself, but better. She was professional and fun, prompt and got my sister I ready in a flash! Thanks for coming out to Long Island for my special day! I usually hate myself in pictures, but with Marisa’s help, I actually love my wedding photos!
