A wedding is a wonderful story, lets us help you tell it. We provide full service event catering in the Hudson Valley, from large scale weddings and parties to intimate dinners in your home. We pride ourselves on our award-winning food, sourced from many local Hudson Valley farms, we are dedicated to sourcing quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients for your dinner. We provide services from start to finish, tailored menus, and customized beverage lists for any size event. We also offer full Event Planning Services, and day of and partial planning packages. From a 250 person wedding, or a private dinner party, we can handle every detail. We provide full staffing, and services from event rental coordination- set up and clean up. Our packages are customizable and seasonal. We serve most events family style, as we curate intimate family dinners for your day. Bar packages at various price levels to suite your budget, we work with our Beverage Manager to create a package that will give your guests a roaring time. Dallas transformed her passion for hospitality into Shale Hill Events after purchasing The Dutch in Saugerties in 2018. Following a successful Wall Street career, she built a thriving hospitality group rooted in the Hudson Valley community. Dallas's vision combines business expertise with genuine love for creating memorable dining experiences. Her commitment to local partnerships and seasonal ingredients ensures each event reflects both exceptional cuisine and warm, attentive hospitality.

Brianne brings over two decades of event expertise to Shale Hill Events, beginning her catering career at just 15 years old. A Saugerties native with deep Hudson Valley roots, she oversees all event details with precision and warmth. Her extensive background in the events industry ensures seamless execution from initial consultation to final service. Guided by her belief that "You have to live, breathe, and love what you do," Brianne creates personalized catering experiences that perfectly reflect each client's vision while showcasing Shale Hill's exceptional farm-to-table cuisine.

Franc brings decades of hospitality experience to Shale Hill Events, beginning his career in his family's Brooklyn restaurant at age 15. He oversees our catering service team with a natural talent for recognizing potential and developing exceptional staff. Franc ensures every wedding, corporate event, and celebration receives impeccable service through his detailed training programs and commitment to excellence. His expertise in front-of-house operations ensures seamless execution at events throughout the Hudson Valley, where his team anticipates guests' needs while delivering the warm, professional service that defines the Shale Hill Events experience.

We can’t thank Shale Hill Events enough for making our tented backyard wedding absolutely perfect. I worked closely with Brianne, who was our point person throughout the planning process. Her expertise, warmth, and organization made such a difference—she truly took the time to understand our vision and helped bring it to life with ease and care. On the day of the wedding, Lisa from the Shale Hill Events team was onsite and was an absolute rockstar. She managed the staff with calm confidence, handled the behind-the-scenes logistics, and worked closely with our planner to make sure everything stayed on schedule—so that we could be fully present and enjoy every moment without stress. I don’t think we looked at the time once all day, which speaks volumes about how smoothly everything flowed. From vendor suggestions to layout logistics to all the tiny touches that made the day feel personal, the entire Shale Hill Events team went above and beyond. It truly felt like we had a trusted friend in our corner the entire way through. Our guests are still raving about how magical the celebration was. And the food!! The food was absolutely phenomenal—beautifully presented, thoughtfully curated, and delicious. Thank you, Shale Hill Events, for helping create a day that was beautiful, meaningful, and completely unforgettable!

I had my wedding at Oz Farm this past October and it was SPECTACULAR! Oz was the first place we toured over a long weekend of visiting venues and decided to move forward with them because of the uniqueness of the space and the events team. We were in constant communication with the team (shoutout to Katie!!) and had all of our questions answered. We were also able to visit the site with our wedding planner to discuss logistics and run through the actual day. Rain was looming so we came up with a rain plan that my husband and I were incredibly happy with. Overall, just a super positive experience!

What an unbelievable experience. A friend referred me to a "new catering company" in the Hudson Valley when I was trying to plan a wedding on just a few months notice. With that phone call, I got the MOST beautiful venue recommendation, the most delicious gorgeous food (not to mention a ton of options and add ons- yay for after party food trucks) plus some awesome bar options. It was not only an amazing wedding day, but a fantastic party with friends and family with limited stress thanks to the amazing team here.

This team was amazing, the most efficient, helpful and professional staff and owners. Patti's food was some of the best I have ever had, not typical wedding fare but you want to eat there every Saturday night out type of fare. Jenny and Dallas took care of every detail- they set up our rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant, they set up all the details of our bar and the company also catered our morning after brunch at a wonderful local barn. We had so many happy family members and friends and of course my wife and I were thrilled with every aspect.

We could not have been happier with this AMAZING team and amazing food. From the initial point of contact, Dallas & Jenny were so helpful and guided me on the long crazy process of wedding planning and food. We had an unbelievable winter wedding at Oz Farm and the food exceeded ALL expectations. The quality of the food was unmatched for catering, including the spectacular wedding cake and dessert bar. They were able to connect us with a wonderful local wine shop (Windmill Wine & Spirits) that custom crafted cocktails and hand selected wine that tasted expensive yet was so affordable, our guests are still raving about every part of their experience.
