About this vendor
Based in Los Angeles, CA, Shammy Dee is a wedding DJ providing services to couples for their special day.
Let me share with you some of the people I've worked with - The Kardashians, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, and more. I’ve DJed weddings all over Southern California for over a decade! Here are the top 5 things that couples ask me to do for their wedding.
1 – They want a DJ who shows up on time! I’m always there early.
2 – They want someone who can emcee the reception. With my acting and stand-up experience, that’s not a problem at all.
3 – They want a DJ who is easy to work with and knows what a wedding needs. I’ve worked with some of the top wedding planners in Southern California. I help make the music planning easy and seamless for you.
4 – They want a DJ who will play the right song at the right time for their guests. Absolutely…that’s my job!
5 – They want a DJ who can take requests. Make that list, baby. I’ll work in what you want (and don’t want) and take requests from your guests too!
Don't let the small number of reviews fool you. I'm just new to The Knot :)

Shammy Dee was the best DJ we could've had at our wedding! He was energetic, engaging, attentive, and very involved in discussions revolving our music. We are so grateful for how f...
un he made the night. Everyone still talks about how fun the music was and the dance floor was always packed.
The day before our wedding we made a last minute decision to change half the songs and include more of our culture's music and he immediately hopped on a call with us to talk through it.
He went above and beyond, there was a time during the wedding he noticed some stains on the dance floor and we saw him walk up to test that it was slippery and called over the staff to have it cleaned up so that no one trips.
Do not hesitate to book Shammy Dee!
Shammy got the party started with the perfect mix of EDM and hip hop!
From the first call we had, we knew Shammy was the right fit for us. He's very personable and thoughtful, and spent so much time getting to know us as a couple and trying to unders...
tand each of our music tastes. Our wedding was a mix of Indian and American cultures, so it was important to us that we represented our individual tastes as well as our family's tastes so that everyone had a great time at the reception. Shammy delivered! He was a fantastic emcee for our wedding, and an incredible DJ for the reception! He was able to seamlessly integrate some guest suggestions while still keeping the music feeling like "us". Our family was on the dance floor literally the whole night! We highly recommend Shammy for your big day. We couldn't be happier with how everything went.
Shammy - thank you so much for all the work you put in! You helped make the evening perfect!
Shammy was absolutely awesome!! We had meeting to prepare for the wedding and he gave great guidance in the process. He is energetic, enthusiastic, and plays to the audience. Shamm...
y played a variety of music to involve everyone in the room, and read the crowd. I had so many people tell me how much they loved the DJ at the wedding! I highly recommend hi!
Shammy knows how to throw a party! We found Shammy here on the knot -- and we couldn't be happier with our experience working with him! With Shammy, you are getting a 3 for 1: DJ, ...
Emcee, and sort of a back-up day-of coordinator. He truly goes above and beyond. Shammy reached out to us and we were able to meet up with him and see him DJ live prior to our wedding. This really helped us seal the deal. His ability to mix music and read a crowd is above and beyond anything we have personally experienced at family/friend weddings we have been to. Not only that, but he was able to take our cultural/ethnic musical tastes into consideration. Over 50% of our guests (and my wife) are 100% Armenian, so hiring a non-Armenian DJ for our wedding felt like a risk. Shammy took it in full stride, and has a mixed background of his own, so he really understood us and what we were trying to achieve with having a mix of traditional Armenian music and American music. He did his homework and familiarized himself with Armenian music and was able to mix it incredibly well throughout the night. We had easily 80%+ of our guests up and on the dance floor for most of the night! Suffice it to say Shammy helped us throw the party of our lives -- and guests have and will be talking about how exceptional the music and dancing was for a long time to come. Highly recommend and you cannot go wrong with Shammy!
To put it simply - DJ Shammy Dee is amazing!
From his magnetic and energetic personality to his dedication to the DJ craft, my bride and I, as well as our guests, absolutely loved...
him!
His professionalism and attention to detail (playing what we wanted/made sure everything was flowing smoothly) exceeded all our expectations.
He has this natural ability to make everyone have a great time!
Hiring Shammy Dee was the best decision we made!
I did not expect to get everything that Shammy came with. Not only was he a very good and professional DJ but he was so supportive and attentive to our needs and present during the...
whole wedding. He totally controlled the room and it goes without saying that the music was LIVE!!! So worth it!!! Thanks Shammy!!!
Shammy was the Dj for our wedding but what we did not know is that he was also a undercover wedding coordinator lol. I’ll never forget when we had an issue with our caterer and DJ ...
Shammy comes to us during our wedding ever so calmly just to inform us of what was going on but that there was nothing to worry about and he already took care of everything. He unexpectedly had his sleeves rolled doing more than what we could ask for! I tell people that our wedding went smoothly but it was because of DJ shammy and others that did things in the background to make that happen and I am ever so thankful. Also, prior to the wedding he was very organized and patient with us. We had an Ethiopian/American wedding which can come with a lot of cultural rules and things that had to be discussed and he was available and ready to ask questions and answer questions as we planned. There was never a dull moment the music was on point and knows how to get a crowd going, He is professional, polite, punctual and gets the job done! I definitely recommend him!
