I can not say enough positive things about Shanell Photography. Shanell is a true artist when it comes to telling your wedding day love story. Never in a thousand years would we ever think we could have wedding photos taken that look like something out of a magazine...until we received out wedding albums from Shanell! Every single photo was truly a piece of fine art. On top of her being incredibly talented, working with her was one of the most pleasurable experiences we had when working with vendors for our October '21 Wedding. Shanell genuinely took the time to get to know us throughout the wedding planning process. She was so accommodating, and beyond willing to help us when we had any questions (and we had lots). Shanell (and Becky, her second shooter!) were the most incredible photographers on our wedding day! Shanell’s knowledge on poses, lighting and backgrounds made the photos go by in a flash and they turned out amazing. I loved that she came prepared with knowledge of the site to give us a few locations for different sets of photos and even asked for our input in case we had our heart set on something. The images we received are so timeless, with such attention to detail we were just blown away. You can not go wrong with Shanell, her professionalism, timeless and classic ascetic and attention to detail we’re all above and beyond our expectations. If we had to do it all again, we would pick a date around her schedule!

Where do I even begin?! 😍 To start I'm a little late writing my review because I truly felt this deserved my full attention and appropriate consideration. Anyone who has viewed Shanell's photography knows it's no secret this girl is TALENTED. But not only is she talented, she is truly truly kind. I can't thank you enough for dealing with me, I'm not easy (aka mrs. high stress panic!!) I learned first hand wedding days are perfectly imperfect (chicken 😑), and having a photographer who not only knows how to handle the craziness but keeps things moving when it may not go as planned is HUGE. Thank you for answering my million questions/phone calls/emails, giving your expert advice(which is worth the $$ alone), and respecting what I envisioned for my special. If there is one thing I wouldn't change about my wedding day it would be my photographer, until you are there experiencing it all you really don't realize how BIG of a role they play in your day. My best advice for a new bride would be book Shanell, you will be so happy you did!! I think I originally found Shanell on Instagram and fell in love with her amazing pictures. After talking to her on the phone I instantly knew I could trust her to capture my wedding day. I have a family history of lost wedding photos/never receiving photos so I was very excited to hear the ways she makes sure you receive your photos efficiently and has her photos backed up throughout the day. She uses film and digital which results in so many wonderful photos. She is so natural behind the camera and knows the ins and outs of weddings. Beyond doing her job as a photographer she went above and beyond to helped me figure out a timeline, decide earrings day of, place on my veil, and helped organize my large wedding party. When I first started looking for a wedding photographer, I was overwhelmed by the many great options. There are tons of talented people out there and Shanell is undoubtedly one of the best- that's apparent from her work. What really makes Shanell special in my opinion is her unbelievable personality. She is the kind of person everyone needs on their wedding day - calm, sincere, and patient. Our friends and family could not stop complimenting her professionalism and sense of humor. Shanell is an AMAZING photographer! She definitely was one of my most important vendors, and she did more than just take photos - she did the little things such as helping me put on my dress, fixing my hair, etc. She did so many things outside of the realm of photography and probably would've been lost without her on our wedding day. She definitely takes charge especially during family photos to make sure we got everything done, and she always wants the best for the bride and groom. She kept us on schedule, which made us super happy. We also did engagement photos with her and I did a boudoir shoot with her as well, and all of our photos have turned out amazing. I cannot wait to get our wedding photos back! She gave us a sneak peek photo the next day! Shanell is very nice, super easy to get a long with but also professional and is knowledgeable in her field. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone! My photographer was the most important detail for me, and I spent months looking for the right one and I am very happy I went with Shanell!

Shanell did an absolutely unbelievable job! She captured our day perfectly. Her photo quality is undeniable. She is a vendor who truly cares about her clients and is a wedding photographer for all of the right reasons- because she loves what she does. I was very close to cutting out our first look for circumstances I didn’t think I could control- even though the first look was the part of our day I was most excited about. Shanell took the time to call me and problem solve the first look details to ensure the first look happened- and it was perfect! I highly, highly recommend her!

I cannot possibly express how grateful I am that Shanell was our photographer for our wedding! She was one of the best decisions we made and I cannot say enough good things about her and her product. Shanell photographed our elopement wedding this September and was absolutely best from helping us develop the timeline for the day and recommending a makeup artists to keeping a light and fun atmosphere during the shoot. Shanell is hands down, without a doubt, THE photographer you want to capture one of the most important days of your life. She is easy going, understanding, encouraging, funny and very professional. She was literally THE ONLY vendor on the day of our wedding I could actually count on. My husband and I consider her a real friend now, more than just our photographer. Although, I am super excited for her to capture all of our future family events, like maternity and newborn photos! We had two engagement sessions with her and it can be nerve racking at first, when you aren't a model and you have someone you don't know that well capturing the love you and your partner share with one another. But within a matter of minutes she made of both feel so comfortable and relaxed. It ended up being a ton of fun! And when we got the pictures back (in such a timely fashion), she made us LOOK like models. It was everything I had dreamt. Our second engagement session was in the FREEZING cold (literally, like -2 degrees outside) and she was such an amazing sport! She kept us laughing and having fun and those photos turned out EVEN better than the first session (which I didn't think was possible). Bottom line, she is worth EVERY penny of your wedding budget and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't hire her.

Shanell is hands down the best photographer. She is truly a one of a kind artist and her photos reflect the hard work and dedication she puts into each and every shoot. Our wedding photograoher was our number one priority throughout the entire wedding planning process. We met with a number of different photographers but ultimately chose Shanell because of her sweet demeanor, phenomenal planning skills, and GORGEOUS natural and organic portfolio. The day of our wedding was less than ideal for photos. It was the first cold weekend of fall with full on winds. The lighting outside was overcast which made the lighting in the church even darker. I truly wish I could show whoever is reading this review just how beautiful our photos turned out. Shanell was one of the best parts of our whole wedding experience. She kept our wonderful but wild bridal party in line and captured the most fun and beautiful moments of the day. When my MOHs forget their bouquets at the church, Shanell saved the day and made two from the other girls bouquets. I could gush forever. We love our photos and will cherish them for all of our days. Just book her, I promise you won’t regret it.

Shanell and her assistant were perfect in every way! She captured all of our sentimental, candid and desired shots and every single picture was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I are not the greatest with taking pictures and Shanell did a fabulous job to place us in certain poses and get the proper lighting. Where can I even begin? We found Shanell through a friend and we did a phone meeting with her and instantly knew she was the one who would capture our wedding day. Shanell also did our engagement shoot, which was so much fun (I remember my face hurting from laughing so much the next day) and really gave us the chance to get to know her and for her to get to know our personalities as well. Our engagement and wedding pictures are more than I could have ever imagined. She shoots digital and film which gives the photos such a soft look and romantic feel. This captured our day so perfectly. Shanell is so down to earth, funny, and personable. Shanell had several phone meetings with me to go over our day of timeline and honestly, she made sure the day ran perfectly (it was like having another day of coordinator which was so helpful!). I would highly recommend her to any friend or family member to shoot an engagement, wedding boudoir, or family session. She is simply a dream to work with.

From the engagement shoot to the support leading up to the wedding to the wedding day, Shanell was INCREDIBLE. She shoots film + digital which is truly unique and her photography is spectacular. Looking through the photos of our wedding day is just like reliving it. She helped us with our timeline, understanding the lighting needs for a winter wedding. She trekked through snow drifts to get those perfect photos. She made sure I got all the shots I wanted, and so many more details. Shanell is my go to photographer for all of my "picture needs"! She has done so many sessions for my whole family that when it came time to get married myself, it was the easiest decision having her as my photographer! She makes the day run smoothly and was constantly checking in on me (the bride) to make sure everything was good and if I needed anything. She will make a custom timeline and has great insight and suggestions on places to go, outfits, poses, etc. Not to mention her photos are timeless, classic, romantic and will last a lifetime! I am so happy with our wedding photos and I can't wait to work with her again!

Shanell is just the photographer you would look for. She not only does high resolution digital prints, but she does traditional natural image photos as well, with really great techniques and lighting measurements. We had two shooters and both had multiple cameras with dual memory cards for protecting your photos. We have had friends with nightmares of the photographers losing pictures because they don't take it as serious. Do your research! She is very accommodating and is very good at getting you to naturally produce those feelings she wants to convey in photos. She is easy going and even went above and beyond for us in a few instances because she wanted us to be happy. Thank you Shanell!

Shanell is an amazing photographer!! I highly recommend her and plan to work more with her in the future - maternity/family pictures/etc. She has such a gift and an eye for detail.
