Shannon Kaye Photography and Design Co. is an award winning wedding photography company based in Dinwiddie, VA. Serving all of Hampton Roads, Richmond, Petersburg, DC, Eastern NC, and the Outer Banks. Owner Shannon Kaye loves her work, and takes pride in everything she does. She has been photographing weddings for over 20 years and loves telling a story of your wedding day. Your wedding is a wonderful day for celebration, and Shannon Kaye wants you to look and feel your best. She is highly attentive to detail and assertive to your needs. Her goofy sense of humor puts couples at ease and allows Shannon Kaye to capture those precious moments that you will want to cherish forever. Shannon Kaye’s art is about capturing the beautiful details that give joy and meaning to life. She loves natural light, sunsets, and energy. When she isn’t behind the camera, she can usually be found enjoying her daily Starbucks, decorating her or other client's homes, working on her farm or creating something artsy. Shannon Kaye Photography covers engagements, rehearsals, and wedding day celebrations in Hampton Roads, Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Shannon Kaye also offers boudoir, maternity, senior portraits, and trash-the-dress sessions. Her range of wedding package options includes a second photographer, printed proofs, framed canvases, access to digital files, and a selection of beautiful wedding albums. She was wonderful the entire time and I am a very indecisive person and she was so incredibly patient with me and even though she was having a rough couple month with covid she was always there to help me with any questions or concerns I had. Not one negative about this photographer. She instinctively “got us” and we are a crazy bunch. Her artistic eye made a gray sky perfection and she captured every moment of love, smiles, laughter, tears of joy. It was nothing short of perfection...

locations, her eye for using the surroundings to bring out the mood and beauty is amazing. Some of our favorite shots are ones we never would have thought of. Another aspect that I love is while she included color and black and white images, both adding to the emotions of the shots, the ones that I found myself looking at most had this antique almost sepia coloring. There is just something old time glamourous about them! If you are on the fence or just starting to look for a photographer, go with Shannon because you will not be disappointed!

a few sessions for us, with every one of them turning out beautiful. The color and lighting on her photos is truly magical. After booking her for our September wedding almost a year in advance, we had the opportunity to take winter engagement photos and got lucky when our shoot arrived and it had snowed. Our engagement photos turned out stunning and I got the best compliments on them. I also used Shannon for my wedding gift to my husband. We did a boudoir shoot and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. She made it easy to relax and helped me feel comfortable in my skin. She helped me plan, design, order and even wrap my book for him. Our wedding weekend was perfect and on the morning of our wedding when I found out she had food poisoning, she reassured me she would do whatever it took, we would have someone there. I owe her everything for being sick and still making sure she was present all day. She killed it, and her sneak peeks are nothing short of spectacular. I cant wait for all our photos! I love coffee. I take pride in everything I do. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’m a little OCD (okay…maybe a lot!). I am very driven + love a good challenge. I believe “good things come to those who hustle.” Aside from photography, I love interior design. I am my biggest critic. I stand by my word + fight for what I believe in. Sometimes…I have no filter (so what you see is what you get 🙂 . I love my little family + miss my Memaw everyday! I have learned in life, WITHOUT STRUGGLE… THERE IS NO PROGRESS, so keep grinding + live your best life, after all… you only get one!
