We chose Shannon McKinnon from ShanSound Entertainment to be the DJ for our wedding reception. Overall, our experience with Shannon was positive. The app he uses to organize the timeline and music preferences was particularly useful and user-friendly, which we appreciated. However, a key piece of advice is to make sure to submit your preferences on the app early. We waited until a week or two before the wedding, and in hindsight, we wish we hadn't. A majority of our "must play" songs never made the cut, which was quite disappointing. I realized that if we had submitted our requests earlier, this might have been avoided. On the day of the wedding, Shannon presented himself professionally and had a great presence. He interacted well with our guests and managed the flow of announcements and music transitions smoothly. One standout moment was when Shannon took the time to chat with our grandparents before the reception started. Learning about their history together, he gave them a thoughtful shoutout during his announcements and invited them to open the dance floor, which was a nice touch that we all appreciated.
