Shawn was so wonderful to work with! She was a good listener both before our wedding and the day of. She was flexible with pricing and did all she could to keep things under our budget. And the photos turned out beautiful! She knew, intuitively, when to give direction and when to let us just be ourselves. I'm so glad we were able to book her when we did!

Shawn took such beautiful photos of our wedding. We had the elements against us as it was absolutely pouring and gloomy out, but the photos were so stunning and romantic you couldn't even tell! Shawn is amazing!!!!! I loved all my pictures! I have had some friends with horror stories about their photographers- taking over 6 months to get their photos and them not even being great quality. You do not have to worry about that with Shawn. Besides engagement photos, I never had professional pictures. Shawn put me at ease even with my high anxiety and not feeling well that day. I had many unexpected moments at my wedding- including my dress zipper breaking! One of the funniest photos is seeing my sisters reaction when the dress broke- Shawn was there for every moment and caught everything on film. I highly recommend her- and she travels!

There certainly is not enough I could say about the beautiful work of Shawn Tomkinson. Our relationship began 11 years ago when after interviewing about 20 wedding photographers, I feel in love with her photo journalistic style. Looking at sample photos of weddings that Shawn shot, I could tell that she was going to be able to capture those special moments with raw emotion and she did just that. I can't just pick one favorite picture that Shawn took of my wedding because they are all so beautiful, but she captured a special one of my husband and I when we were peeking into the function hall all decorated and ready to make our grand entrance. It's that attention to detail, that makes Shawn an amazing photographer. Shawn is much more than a photographer, she is a part of our little story in life. She has not just photographed our start in life with our engagement and wedding, but she has photographed our family as it has grown through the years. She has this ability to capture those moments when we are being a silly little family giggling at one another or when my girls are playing in the sand while they think no one is looking. The photographs that Shawn has provided me over the years are my MOST most treasured possessions. Each time she sends the link with my next session photos, it is like Christmas morning. Shawn did an absolutely amazing job with our wedding. We had so much fun with her her and she was such a pleasure to work with. I hired Shawn for my September 2007 wedding.. I knew from the moment I met her she was the only photograher for me. Shawn was amazing from helping my plan reception photos to a last mintue change in outdoor photo location. Shawn never skipped a beat. The pictures she took really captured who Matt & I are as a couple. I really can not say enough good thing about her. I would hire Shawn over and over again!

I love, love, love Shawn's work! She came recommended from many friends and I honestly have to say that I could not have made a better choice. She captured our day perfectly, getting great formals, but also amazing many action shots. We constantly get compliments on our wedding photographs. I would highly recommend Shawn.

I hired Shawn for my son's wedding and again for my daughter's wedding.. She was very casual but attentive. She mixed right in with the guests non invasive.. We ordered several hard copies and opted to purchase the CD so we could print which ever photos we choose at our own cost. Shawn uses an on line photo printing site which offered great deals.. As far as I am concerned the best photo are a result of the setting.. try to give Shawn a farm house or beach setting.

Shawn is fantastic!! My husband and I used her for our wedding in May 2011. She is great to get along with... and is professional when she needs to be but also maintains a casual friendly relationship as well!! She was wonderful the day of the wedding and got amazing shots!! My bridesmaids and family adored her as well. I love most her traditional / artistic mix. She keeps a good medium to her style to not overload you with strictly one extreme vs the other. She stays out of the way when needed but still manages to get great angles . (My husband and i were married at the duke chapel and they are very strict with where the photographer can stand and shoot from... Shawn followed all instructions but like i said still managed to get wonderful shots and view points!!) She had an awesome assistant with her as well who also did a great job! We are still looking through our 'ton of pictures' to decide which ones we want - they are all so good it will be difficult to narrow down. I found Shawn's site myself while internet searching and my coordinator was weary of working with someone she did not know... but Shawn turned out to be the best decision Michael and I made out of all the wedding vendors we chose to work with. You will be in good hands!!
