I'm Shawn, the 19-year-old behind the lens and the heart of Shawnie's Cinema. I've always been drawn to storytelling, and over the years, I realized that capturing real moments through photography is one of the most powerful ways to freeze time. I believe every moment, even the smallest ones, holds meaning—and I want to help people relive those memories long after they've passed. About Shawnie's Cinema: Shawnie's Cinema is more than just a photography company—it's a storytelling experience. We don't just show up and snap pictures. We take time to understand each couple's story and create something that's personal, emotional, and cinematic. Every love story is unique, and I make sure what I deliver reflects exactly that. Why I Do This: My passion for preserving memories comes from a deeply personal place. My grandma had Alzheimer's. Toward the end, she forgot who I was—and that kind of pain is hard to put into words. After she passed, the photos I had of her became one of the few ways I could still feel connected. They reminded me of her voice, her laugh, her love. That's when I truly understood how powerful a single image can be. Photos can hold and cherish the moments you can't revisit. That's why I do this—for the people who never want to forget. As a tribute to my grandma and to help others impacted by Alzheimer's, 10% of every wedding booked with me will go directly to the Alzheimer's Association through my campaign.
