I don't know if I can sing Shawon's praises enough! My husband and I are both very camera shy, as well as organizationally challenged, and Shawon made each step of the way so easy and exciting for us. We knew as soon as we had our first meeting she was the photographer for us. She listened to what we wanted and spent the time to get to know us as a couple to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. All the planning leading up was made so much easier by her check ins and after a scheduling session over video chat a month or so before the wedding, I instantly felt more calm and ready for the big day! The day of was a blur, but I felt so comfortable in front of the camera. Our bridal party and family also commented on how amazing she was. And most importantly, the pictures we received were incredible! I normally hate looking at photos of myself but I find myself scrolling through them all the time. I cannot recommend Shawon enough and am so happy with our choice!

I am long overdue for this post, the reason being, that I had a very hard time finding words to express my admiration and appreciation for Shawon and her talent!!! So here goes!... Shawon photographed our New Years Eve wedding. From our first conversation, through our engagement session, until the clock struck midnight on January 1st... Shawon was a 10/10, a bride's dream! She was professional, warm, optimistic, and just absolutely amazing. My husband loved her, our wedding party loved her, and our families loved her! She made everyone feel comfortable and at ease while she photographed us. Shawon's husband Anthony accompanied her to our wedding, and I absolutely loved watching them work together- talk about marriage goals! Shawon is an incredibly talented photographer. Our pictures were gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for anything more. She was able to adjust to the fading light of a winter's day, capture indoor moments with clarity, and glide around a church with ease capturing our ceremony from what seemed like 100 different angles. Shawon captured moments of our wedding that we did not see that night. She captured moments of joy, expressions of love, and celebrations happening amongst our families and friends. She framed our memories, and we will be forever grateful to her for capturing the best day of our lives. We recommend her to any couple looking for a genuine, down to earth photographer with unbelievable talent.

If you are getting married in New England, I highly recommend hiring Shawon to photograph your big day. I almost did not reach out to Shawon because I thought there was no way someone with her gorgeous portfolio would be in our budget, but I’m so glad I did because she was our dream photographer and in our budget!! Booking her to be our wedding photographer was the best decision we made when planning our wedding on Cape Cod this past August. From the moment I spoke to her on the phone, I knew that this warm, kind, calm, and organized person needed to be part of my day. Every time I talked to her throughout the process I instantly felt more relaxed. She was an incredible help for us, guiding us through a lot of important wedding details including planning our day of schedule and keeping us on time throughout the wedding day. In person she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is very detailed oriented and gives clear instructions for photographs, but more importantly, she helped us stay relaxed and enjoy every minute of our engagement and wedding photographs. Every person we talked to throughout the planning process only had good things to say about Shawon when we told them she was our photographer, and every compliment we heard she absolutely deserves. Our guests all loved her, and our photographs are stunning. She captured all of the emotions of our wedding day perfectly. We have a beautiful candid shots as well as elegant portraits. Shawon really puts her couples first. At both our Engagement shoot and Wedding we were getting ready to say goodbye to her when I realized I wanted just one more photo. Shawon was willing to stay extra to get a few more photographs, and I am so grateful to her for that. For our engagement shoot we brought our puppy and Shawon did an amazing job of capturing some adorable photos of us with him. In terms of communication, Shawon is very quick to respond to emails and delivered both our engagement and wedding photos before the promised date. I hope we can find some excuses to do more photoshoots with Shawon because we just had so much fun working with her and every penny we spent was well worth it. I tried my best, but I don’t think this review does her justice. Seriously if she is available for your wedding book her this minute!!

Shawon photographed our wedding earlier this year. We knew Shawon would be the perfect photographer for our day after the first meeting with her. She immediately asked questions to get to know us and to help us plan the perfect day. She answered all of our questions and even sent us gifts throughout the planning process. Shawon is an absolute gem! She is such a kind soul and it’s clear she loves what she does. Aside from loving her natural light work, it only took the initial phone call for me to know I wanted to work with her due. Shawon is one of those people who lights up a room and has an infectious joy and energy that those around her take on. She is detailed, meticulous and well planned to execute your day of shooting. On top of that, she is cool as a cucumber at work and made sure that I was too. Leading up to our wedding day, I was struggling to get a finalized timeline from the hair/make up team. Shawon made sure we had multiple possible photo timelines for pre-ceremony shots planned out so that regardless of what the final timeline was from hair/make up, we’d be ready to roll. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable with the plans and that we’d be getting the desired photos that we wanted. Not only that but she also scouted a few areas for our wedding party pics- we had such a large group that some areas we had previously thought of weren't going to work spatially. Something that hadn't even crossed my mind and Shawon was on top of finding suitable group shot locations for 20 people! (food for thought if you're going to have a large wedding party) When I started my wedding photographer search, I was surprised that it was somewhat hard to find someone who shot clean, natural light, well. The age of Instagram has generated many more photographers that shoot with overexposed light and darker moody tones. Vibes I was not looking for. Not only is Shawon’s style clean and timeless, she captures the moments impeccably! All of our wedding photos came out incredibly!!! It’s going to be very hard to narrow down our favorites, a physical wallpaper in our house would be more realistic to be able to display all the photos that we love. Even our friends and family who have viewed our wedding gallery have commented that every single photo is perfect and there isn’t one bad picture in the bunch. She truly creates a work of art in capturing the special moments of the day. We have countless photos that we are going to cherish for the rest of time and shots that bring us right back to that moment of the day. We were so lucky another local vendor recommended Shawon as a photographer. It’s been such a joy getting to know and work with Shawon and we look forward to working with her again. Shawon was, hands down, the best decision we made for our wedding! Book. Shawon. If there is any piece of advice I would give to couples planning their wedding, it would be to hire Shawon as their photographer. From day one she was our favorite vendor, and felt more like a guest we wanted at our wedding than someone we hired for the big day. She is phenomenal at preparation, incredibly organized, had some fun surprises for us along the way, and is one of the kindest and loviest people you will ever meet. We booked Shawon for our wedding this past August and honestly, it was the best decision we made in our planning process. The first conversation I had with her, we spent almost an hour on the phone. She was so wonderful, the connection was instant, there is no way I would have even considered another photographer to capture our day. Shawon made the entire process seamless. We booked her in May of 2018 for August 2019, and throughout that huge span of time she checked in with us, scheduled our engagement session, worked with us on our day of timeline and kept us completely in the loop and up to date on exactly what we could expect from her. My husband and I have both never liked photos of ourselves and always felt awkward in front of the camera. Being with Shawon was like being with a good friend and we could not have been more comfortable or more pleased with every photo she took that day! Our only challenge is picking the ones to display, because we want to show them ALL off! Her positive energy and light hearted, yet efficient, attitude made what we expected to be a stressful day feel breezy. I honestly feel like a weight was lifted as soon as Shawon arrived and with her direction and talent I felt completely at ease. My philosophy was after the cake is eaten, the flowers are wilted, and the dress is tucked away, all you have physically left from your wedding day is your pictures. This was truthfully the most important aspect, one I didn’t want to skimp on and honestly had incredibly high hopes and expectations for. Shawon not only met but overly exceeded all expectations. She’s personable, thorough, and just all around great at what she does! If you want absolutely stunning photos and the chance to work with an amazing person, Shawon isn’t only the best choice; she’s the only choice!

Shawon is absolutely incredible and my husband and I would recommend her with our highest and fondest regards. We found Shawon through online research and were completely drawn in by her classically elegant photos. Her portfolio is diverse and she has a way of bringing out the natural beauty and essence of every couple she photographs. Shawon is absolutely amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend her. Our photos are PHENOMENAL and were more than I could have asked for. She captured every moment of our wedding day beautifully. Even more than the photos, Shawon's calming persona, pleasant and positive temperament and attention to detail made her an asset to our wedding day running smoothly. I underestimated how important the photographer is to keeping a smooth wedding day timeline and feel so grateful I had Shawon there to guide us. Shawon was a wonderful photographer. I found her exceptionally easy to work with. She went above and beyond on my wedding day. It was 100 degrees in the shade, and Shawon really made an effort to make sure everyone was comfortable. Additionally, she some how made us look beautiful despite all the sweat. Shawon was amazing. She was so helpful leading up to our wedding and really walked us through the day and answered any questions we had. Everything I was nervous about she had an answer to and would calm me down. On the actual day of the wedding we couldn't have asked for a better photographer. She took so many pictures but she was so quick, prepared, and professional that we never felt like we were missing out on any of the fun. She made us feel so comfortable and was so great to work with. During and after the wedding almost all of our guests were singing her praises. After the wedding she said she would have our pictures done in about 5 weeks but she finished in about 2. I can't get over how amazing they came out. Literally everything I could have ever wanted. I've already printed out so many and am so excited that she captured every moment I wanted and now I have those memories forever. Finding the perfect photographer was a high priority for us and we are so thankful to have found Shawon! She is better than perfect and truly was a pleasure to work with. Shawon goes above and beyond in everything - from sending sweet notes and surprises in the mail to creating a detailed timeline to keep us on track, and even answering my random wedding questions that don't have as much to do with photos. She is thoughtful, kind and supportive - and we really felt like she was a part of our wedding party! Shawon is truly a gem and my husband and I adored working with her tremendously! As many have mentioned, she has the business side down. She was prepared for all phone calls and was even willing to give us an extra hour of photography after we decided we would be unable to take advantage of the engagement shoot that came with our package. What sealed the deal for us though was her personable and warm demeanor and her understanding of what we wanted out of our photos: laugh lines, tears, the real and the romance. She certainly delivered and we absolutely adore our photos! They remind us that behind all the small moments -- a touch, a look or a kiss -- is something grand in the simplicity. The photos radiate warmth. Throughout the process, she was there with gifts and tips (she recommended the hair and makeup company we used for the ladies) and reminded us to have fun during what was sometimes a very stressful process. On a more personal note, it was very important for us to find a photographer with the demonstrated ability to photograph different skin tones well, which proved to be difficult for us to do in the New England area. Shawon was a godsend for us here, as well. She is dedicated to the art of photography and finding magic in the moment (she didn't visit our site beforehand!). Choose her if our experience sounds similar to what you are looking for; you will be delighted!

We highly recommend Shawon, not just because her photographs were beautiful, but because she was a delight to work with. She is incredibly friendly, which was great for a couple of awkward photo takers like my husband and myself who generally shy away from the camera but wanted great photos for our wedding day. She truly has the business end of things down: she checked in at all the right times; she has an amazingly detailed questionnaire to be sure that she got all the photos we wanted; a selection of our wedding photos were up on her blog a few days after our ceremony so friends and family could check them out right away; and our final photo gallery was available to us a month after our wedding. She also provides great information about timing for photos - which helped me when pulling together our timeline for the day. We're so happy she was our wedding photographer!

I cannot recommend Shawon Davis highly enough! She was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She has an incredibly warm, calming and kind personality and was very organized and responsive throughout the entire process. I always felt more relaxed, more prepared and less stressed about the wedding after talking to or emailing with her. She worked with us (and our other vendors) to create a timeline for the entire wedding day which made everything go very smoothly. She checked in often in the months leading up to the wedding and sent us surprise goodies which always brightened our day. Her work is absolutely beautiful and really does speak for itself. My husband and I are thrilled with our wedding photos (which came very promptly following the wedding!!). Our engagement session was also perfection and a great opportunity to get to know her better before the big day. Shawon helped us to relax and enjoy the moment while she got the most beautiful and authentic shots which perfectly captured all the love and joy of our wedding day. Our experience with Shawon was fantastic from start to finish. She is warm, thoughtful, organized, and very talented at what she does. From my first phone call with Shawon I knew that she "got it" as far as what I was hoping to get out of the photography on my wedding day--that it's all about capturing the emotions, excitement, and presence of loved ones at the wedding in a candid and natural way. The day of the wedding, Shawon and her assistant Rudy were both a pleasure to have around and guided my husband and I and our bridal parties with kindness and a total sense of calm. Shawon was everywhere taking the most wonderful pictures of my grandson's wedding. She did her work quietly without intruding on any conversations or activities. The results clearly demonstrate her expert knowledge of how to photograph a very happy celebration!

My wife and I are incredibly happy that we had Shawon shoot our wedding. Our family and friends keep telling us that she perfectly captured us as a couple -- plenty of photos of us caught in a moment of laughter, subtle expressions of passion, as well as big overt expressions when joking around. Looking through the photos Shawon got of our guests, I get to feel like I was in the middle of those cocktail hour conversations I missed. We got close-up and personal photographs between people, photographs that make us look like models, and "epic" photographs with us and the backdrop of our outdoor venue. Shawon runs her well organized business professionally while making us feel right at home with her the entire time. In discussions with her we always knew what was going on and how things would unfold. She provided a lot of expert advice while customizing the experience to our style and needs. Shawon constantly surprised us in delightful ways in the months prior to the wedding and chatting with her felt no different then chatting with a good friend. All of this we felt like we knew we would get following the introductory meeting with Shawon, my wife just knew that Shawon's big smile would make us happy to be around her and get us to come out naturally in the photographs. Shawon's prices, compared to others in the Boston area, were extremely competitive and with the included engagement session became a no-brainer. Definitely cannot say enough good things about Shawon and we are lucky to have her set up shop in Massachusetts.

We loved working with Shawon. When we look at our wedding pictures, we are able to relive every moment again. She listened to our needs, she worked with our budget and she works timely. Everyone month leading to your big day she would send a reminder with some type of gifts, which made us even more excited for the big day. We found Shawon on the recommendation of Alicia, the event coordinator for the Norton Country Club (who we also highly recommend). Shawon is a very, very very good photographer - far above all other photographers we know. She is a great person to work with, lots of fun and brings out the best in everyone. Her engagement shooting was amazing then and we were grateful enough for that. By the time she was done with our wedding at the end of July 2017 we were extremely grateful and recommend Shawon in the hopes that someone else can be grateful to her, as well.

When I think of my wedding day, I first think about how lucky my fiance and I are to have each other. Secondly, I think about how lucky we are to have found Shawon to be our photographer. My husband and I cannot recommend working with Shawon for your wedding highly enough. From the very beginning, Shawon really made this a great experience. Shawon Davis photographed our wedding this summer (2017), and we absolutely could not have had a more positive experience working with her. She was the best vendor that we worked with and was definitely the best financial investment that we made during our wedding planning process. She sent us a comprehensive guide, which was almost like a how-to manual with tips and suggestions for planning the wedding day so that were mentally prepared and able to get the most out of her services [sidenote: I have not heard of other photographers doing this, and found the guide so useful that I am passing it onto a recently engaged friend of mine]. On the wedding day itself, she was INCREDIBLE. She showed up early, stayed late, and generally just worked her @$$ off for us. Not only did she work incredibly hard, she was just a delight to have around: she has such a warm and positive presence, but is also very professional and great at managing people and crowds. I have seen other photographers be meek or ineffectual at directing people, but Shawon was the opposite: she was able to get all of our family/group portraits done very efficiently. She was totally unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception, and managed to get a lot of wonderful candid and posed photos of our guests, which we really appreciated. We loved spending our day with her, and were actually sad to see her go at the end of the evening! After the wedding, she continued to impress us with her lightning-fast turn around times. We had a sneak peek within a few days, and the full gallery of images within a month. This is definitely not the industry norm, and is just another example of how Shawon goes above and beyond for her clients. The photos themselves, of course, are beautiful. We will treasure them for the rest of our lives. We are so grateful to Shawon for all that she contributed to our wedding. She is the full package: wonderfully creative; organized, professional, hardworking; and a warm and lovely person to interact with. We cannot recommend her more highly.

I can not rave enough about how amazing it was working with Shawon! I came across Shawon's photos on Instagram and I loved her style. She never stopped working for us from the moment we signed the contract until after the wedding. She checked in with us, gave great advice and recommendations and above all, she listened to what my husband and I wanted and executed it flawlessly. Shawon arrived early on the day of the wedding, took amazing photos without being intrusive and received compliments from all of the wedding vendors and a ton of our guests. Shawon was a FANTASTIC photographer! From our initial planning phases, to the day of the wedding and even after the wedding, it has been a joy working with her. She was always organized and 100% professional. Through every step of the process Shawon provided us with timelines and what to expect, which was very helpful since I had a lot on my plate. We loved our engagement shoot with her - she made us feel very comfortable and helped us get to know her photography style. Leading up to the wedding she was always in contact & coordinated a day of timeline with the venue. She also sent us the sweetest gifts in anticipation of the big day! She was never in the way and got amazing shots throughout the ceremony and getting ready phases. She also had some of these shots displayed for guests during the reception which our guests really enjoyed. She was quick to share the photos after the wedding and there are so many amazing shots that we don't even know where to begin! I would highly recommend working with Shawon if you want a personalized, high level of service from an experienced and creative photographer!
