Shear Metal Beauty is a wedding hair and makeup salon in Sewickley, PA. My name is Shelby. I’m the owner and main stylist for Shear Metal Beauty. I’m a born-and-bred yinzer who’s been in the beauty industry for over 13 years now. As a former bride, my goal is to make you feel how I strived to feel on my own wedding day: unique, comfortable, and absolutely stunning. That confidence is what I want to carry you down the aisle and throughout the entire day—the most glamorous version of YOU.
I have a specialty in vintage styling and airbrush makeup. I’m fully licensed by the State Board of Cosmetology. I’ve worked in 6 states and 2 countries. COVID-19 sanitization certified via Barbicide (my team and I will still respectfully wear masks on request). Over 100 positive reviews across the internet from happy brides. I eagerly partner with other beauty companies, leaving positive, lasting relationships in the industry. I hope you find comfort in knowing I have yet to cancel a wedding and strive never to do so. For my own hair and makeup, I had a trial about three months before the wedding. From the moment I met Shelby, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. She offered thoughtful recommendations, answered every question, and helped me confidently make decisions about my bridal look.
On the wedding day, I asked for a few tweaks to my trial look, and Shelby absolutely exceeded my expectations. She brought my vision to life perfectly. As someone with naturally curly hair who wanted to embrace my curls, finding the right stylist was incredibly important. Shelby preserved the essence of my natural curls while creating a polished, elegant bridal style, which is no small feat.
Beyond her incredible talent, Shelby was punctual, flexible, calm, and an absolute joy to have with us on such an important day. She brought such a positive, reassuring presence to the bridal suite and truly embodied everything a bride could want in a hair and makeup artist and so much more. I cannot recommend her enough.

Her prices are on-par with what I was looking for, and affordable for all my bridal party. Notably preferred cash day-of, which I almost forgot! But that wasn't a problem. Also very understanding and flexible if anything comes up scheduling-wise.
Overall would highly recommend! A super cool lady who makes you feel comfortable whenever you're in the chair.

ay. She didn’t take any deposit which to be honest made me nervous since we communicated through texting only and I was calming myself by telling myself not to expect much.
Well I was pleasantly surprised - she came in with a friend, Rachel and they both were absolutely great.
I know what I want and I am very specific. Shelby listened to as to how I wanted my hair and makeup done. She created the exact image I had in my mind.
Rachel went out of her way to help me mend my daughter’s dress . ( This was certainly not in her job description)!!
Needless to say they both win you over with their personalities, great patience and beautiful smiles and I can’t emphasise enough how talented Shelby is. She definitely is very creative and has magical hands to make one look their best and more!
My daughter and sister were extremely grateful to me for finding her because she did their hair and makeup as well.
