Shelby did the hair and makeup for my wedding, as well as the hair and makeup for all seven of my bridesmaids, and everyone was beyond impressed. She took the time to understand each girl's vision and executed it flawlessly, making everyone feel beautiful and confident.
For my own hair and makeup, I had a trial about three months before the wedding. From the moment I met Shelby, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. She offered thoughtful recommendations, answered every question, and helped me confidently make decisions about my bridal look.
On the wedding day, I asked for a few tweaks to my trial look, and Shelby absolutely exceeded my expectations. She brought my vision to life perfectly. As someone with naturally curly hair who wanted to embrace my curls, finding the right stylist was incredibly important. Shelby preserved the essence of my natural curls while creating a polished, elegant bridal style, which is no small feat.
Beyond her incredible talent, Shelby was punctual, flexible, calm, and an absolute joy to have with us on such an important day. She brought such a positive, reassuring presence to the bridal suite and truly embodied everything a bride could want in a hair and makeup artist and so much more. I cannot recommend her enough.
Shelby and Katie were absolutely amazing. Everyone loved their hair and makeup, and it lasted the whole night even after dancing for hours! On top of that, they were so personable and made our morning getting ready fun. This is the second wedding I’ve been to where Shelby did the hair and makeup, and she fully delivered both times.

Shear Metal Beauty is a wedding hair and makeup salon in Sewickley, PA. My name is Shelby. I’m the owner and main stylist for Shear Metal Beauty. I’m a born-and-bred yinzer who’s been in the beauty industry for over 13 years now. As a former bride, my goal is to make you feel how I strived to feel on my own wedding day: unique, comfortable, and absolutely stunning. That confidence is what I want to carry you down the aisle and throughout the entire day—the most glamorous version of YOU.
I have a specialty in vintage styling and airbrush makeup. I’m fully licensed by the State Board of Cosmetology. I’ve worked in 6 states and 2 countries. COVID-19 sanitization certified via Barbicide (my team and I will still respectfully wear masks on request). Over 100 positive reviews across the internet from happy brides. I eagerly partner with other beauty companies, leaving positive, lasting relationships in the industry. I hope you find comfort in knowing I have yet to cancel a wedding and strive never to do so.
