Jamie and Kat provided the hair and makeup services for my wedding on 4/22/2023 at Overlook Barn in Banner Elk, NC. I highly recommend them both! I reached out to multiple hair and makeup vendors in the High Country. I chose Shear Shakti because they offered both hair and makeup services onsite, included a hair and makeup trial, and were the most affordable for the number of services needed (4). Shear Shakti is working with limited personnel right now, but they still communicated promptly and professionally which I really appreciated. My maid-of-honor and I were both happy with how our hair and makeup turned out. I enjoyed chatting with Jamie and Kat. They’re easy to talk to, which helped calm my nerves. Additionally, Jamie cut my husband’s hair the week before the wedding and did a great job. If you’re looking for hair and makeup services in the High Country, you won’t go wrong with Shear Shakti!

Shear Shakti did a great job helping us to coordinate the hair and makeup for the bride, bridesmaids, and moms. Everyone looked great and we had a fun, relaxing morning getting ready. I particularly appreciate how the Shear shakti team made sure that people were comfortable with how they looked, asking to make sure everyone was happy with the final looks! They helped to maintain a fun, laid back atmosphere that morning and kept everything running smoothly. The whole group looked gorgeous!

Shear Shakti truly has an amazing staff! I used them for my wedding day for hair and make-up. They are very professional, talented, easy-going, and all-around fun. I had done a couple of trials (indecisive bride over here) and each time I was met with kindness and understanding! I cannot tell you how many times I and my mom emailed/called Jamie and she was always so quick to respond and patient. Jamie, Serena, and Tara were our main team and they are wonderful! We got married at The Overlook Barn and the entire team came to us and got me, 9 bridesmaids, 2 moms, and a grandmother ready in no time! Tara is crazy good at make-up and we all looked stunning and still looked like us! They all did our hair and was able to make everyone feel beautiful. Serena is so calming, and my hair had never looked better. I and my bridesmaids felt beautiful the entire day and night. Shear Shakti made it such a magical day! Thanks ladies for making my day truly the best!

I booked a wedding hair/makeup appointment through Shear Shakti at the last minute and they delivered 100%. Tara did my hair and makeup for both my early bridals and our day-of. I had two totally separate looks and both were stunning. My hair was intricate, my make up was flawless (which I heard many, many times at the reception), and everything was exactly the vintage look I wanted. Tara is SO talented and the whole experience was amazing. I would highly, highly recommend brides in the area going through Shear Shakti. Wonderful experience!!
