I was fortunate enough to have Tristan photograph my husband and I's wedding in 2016. He served as the photographer for my sister's wedding, and after seeing how the photos turned out from her wedding, I knew my wedding photography search was over. He was with our wedding party for the better part of the day and captured moments between family members and guests that I couldn't fully take in until after. Unlike other wedding photographers, Tristan didn't direct many posed shots, which is exactly what I was hoping for--all of the moments, and sentiments even from our wedding day were captured organically, and because of that, they turned out beautifully. From his calm demeanor to his ability to take in all of our surroundings (including the magnificent lightship that was next to our ceremony site), Tristan was effortlessly able to capture the joy and love that was shared by all on our special day. To give Tristan and Shearwater Station anything less than a five-star, stellar review for his immense care and detail in handling our wedding photography would be a crime. Tristan, From Shearwater Station, was the consummate professional. We hired him to take photos for our wedding, and the process was absolutely effortless and resulted in breathtaking photos that are not only of professional quality, but also have a little something extra - something ineffably special - that I think sets them apart from your standard wedding photos. This may be the years of work that Tristan has done for the New York Times, Audubon Magazine and other impressive publications - he just has a knack for capturing the candid moment effortlessly. He edited the images very quickly so that we had them and could share with our friends very soon after the wedding. Tristan also didn't make a fuss about posing us much or making us walk this way or that - he was able to capture what he needed (and what we needed) with very little effort or time that the bride and groom spent away from the wedding party. I have since recommended him to a bunch of my friends, and if my kid ever gets married, I hope that Tristan is still working. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I can't imagine the experience with anyone else.
