On our wedding day the forecast was for rain, and she was so sweet to offer to stay in the area for an extra night and take photos of us outside the next morning when the forecast was for sun! The rain ended up stopping an hour before our ceremony and she took the most BEAUTIFUL photos outside, kept everything light and fun and low-stress. We had such a blast working with her and pretty much laughed the entire time. The photos were breathtaking!! I honestly cried looking at them all. Our family and friends kept mentioning how they looked like they were from a magazine! All the credit goes to Shelly! She knew exactly how to direct us so we looked natural, even though we had no idea what to do in front of the camera. We cannot recommend Shelly enough! o get natural looking shots. Shelly made sure to scout the wedding venue and surrounding location before the event so she knew where the best spots to do the first look and group pictures. On the wedding day, she came into my chaotic bridal suite and got right to work with the details, then got all the girls on track so we finished our pictures in plenty of time and we weren’t rushed for the ceremony. Also, she got our photos back to us really quickly and we are so happy with how they turned out! I do not consider myself photogenic, and I am usually very nervous to see pictures of myself, but am in love with our wedding photos! Lastly, Shelly’s pricing is very reasonable, especially considering her artistry and the individual attention she gives to your shoot and preparing your photos.

set Shelly apart as a top wedding vendor: 1) Easy to work with- I had so much on my mind during the wedding weekend so I let Shelly do her thing without giving direction and she totally nailed it. We didn't have a second shooter, but Shelly worked so hard and captured a million different angles. I don't know how she did it! 2) Turnaround time - she sent us our photos within two weeks, while we were still on our honeymoon. It was the best treat ever to pour through her photos while laying by the pool! 3) Attention to detail - Shelly scouted our venues for spots with good light and backdrops. The pictures reflect her talent and eye. I can't say enough how impressed I was. If you can, work with Shelly!!

ething our engagement photographer tried, but failed to do. She was smiling, joking and kept us moving - everything felt so natural and not at all awkward as we had feared. Nearly everyone in our bridal party made similar comments, noting how sweet and easygoing the photographer was and how comfortable they felt. You can see it in the pictures. Even if Shelly was a nightmare to work with (and she couldn't be further from it!!!!), we still would have hired her for her pictures. Her work is GORGEOUS and we couldn't be more in love with our wedding pictures! And its not just us - everyone we show the pictures to comments on just how incredibly they are. We didn't use a videographer and we didn't need to with Shelly - her gallery offered so many options of every single moment that scrolling through felt like watching a video of the day (and I should mention that we were able to see them all only 13 days after the wedding!). Shelly is a true artist who does more than just capture the people - she captures the moment and the feeling and if you look at the work of other photographers, you'll see that this is something only a few can do. Her work is just at another level and I couldn't possibly recommend her enough!

e hardest thing until both my wedding planner and I stumbled upon Shelly's Instagram and immediately fell in love. We both found her and sent an email to each other and it felt like fate. I was struggling with finding someone with the style I wanted who had a proper business and professionalism with that. I was nervous to just find someone on Instagram who no one I knew had worked with but once I talked to Shelly on the phone, she embodied all of that and more. I was ecstatic. She went out of her way to help us find the perfect engagement shoot locations and even stayed longer to make sure we got those epic shots on the mountain before the storm came through! A big part for me was making sure my husband was comfortable and he absolutely loved Shelly. Once he told me that, I knew we had made the right decision. We had SO much fun on our engagement shoot together that we knew we could trust her even more with our wedding day. For our wedding she came early and scouted locations which I thought was so awesome because she was going out of her way to make sure the lighting and locations were prepared so we weren't rushing around on the day of. Her second photographer was spot on with her style and professionalism. Shelly was invested in us and that is something unique and special. She also stuck to schedule and was so organized! Everyone was just so amazed and pleased with her I got so many compliments! You hear horror stories of photographers being so rude and rushing through things and that is not anything you have to worry about with Shelly! She is the opposite! She again made it so fun and I trusted her which was big for me. The photos turned out absolutely amazing! I couldn't preach more about the value of a photographer like Shelly and how much the time and money was worth it. She captured our day perfectly. I have too many good photos it's overwhelming which is a good thing =] Everyone says, OMG, I thought that was a magazine cover, or WOW you guys look like models. She captures moments and emotion perfectly and her editing is just gorgeous. So in the end, I can't express enough how much I appreciated having Shelly as a part of our journey and how grateful we are for her dedication to making sure our day went smooth and that the photos turned out just as we had wanted. the process to plan everything. It made everything so easy the day of the shoot because everything was so planned out. The photos came out beautiful and she was super sweet even though the shoot went a bit over what I'd imagine is her normal shooting time for an engagement. As for the wedding, different day same results. Shelly & her second shooter Jamie showed up ready to shoot earlier than expected, captured amazing photos for the prep, ceremony, & reception, and delivered them in impressive time (I believe 2.5 weeks). Considering the number of images she delivered that's unreal. Everyone in our wedding party not only told me how nice our photos came out, but how nice Shelly was to work with. I seriously cannot wait to work with her again. I'm making excuses to fly to Southern Cali to shoot with her again haha. Thanks again Shelly. Deciding on Shelly was an easy decision for many reasons, but she exceeded expectations on all fronts on the big day. We spoke with Shelly on the phone regarding our interests and wants when it came to our wedding day photography. Shelly even offered to meet up with us, so that we could talk in person and get to know each other and her wedding style of photography. After that conversation we knew we’d found THE ONE! She was soo easy to work with and communicated with us multiple times via email to make sure we knew what we were getting. We had Shelly take our engagement photos as we wanted to have a chance to work with her before our wedding day. When we met Shelly she made the entire shoot soo easy. The way she gave direction, her easy going demeanor, and her ability to get us to laugh all day long. ugh, and all the way through the big day had this effortless way of being extremely organized but never, ever pushy. I had a day-of planner, but I know we would have been truly lost without Shelly there to keep things upbeat and on track. Shelly came out a day early to check out the venue and we talked through the day-of, while we walked the entire property (because I swore there were clovers... sorry Shelly, that was a long walk). I also basically made her drive all over Portland - from shooting the rehearsal dinner, to our day-of 'getting ready' location, THEN following us to the venue where, for God knows what reason, my guests were already arriving (yep, 2 hours early... that really happened). But she had the best attitude the entire time, took everything in stride, and then took the best photos. Right, so THE PHOTOS *swoon* - - our wedding was crazy, did not follow a normal schedule AT ALL, and had 20+ more guests than RSVP'd (how does that even happen??). So, needless to say it was quite the fiasco. Shelly documented moments and faces we otherwise would have missed in unique ways we would have never seen them to begin with. He composition and attention to detail in every shot brought out the depth, emotion and all the energy of the day. Any post editing was consistent, purposeful, and only made the photos/moments feel more authentic and immediately nostalgic. The way she curated her blog post of images from our wedding told the story better than I could have ever described. Every. Single. Image. was beautiful. There were a lot of things that didn't go the way I hoped (vendor flubs, family drama, hungover bridal party haha) but Shelly's photos literally completely changed how, not only myself, but my friends and family remember our wedding. Basically, all I can tell you is: don't get married without Shelly. She really is the best ever.

AMAZING shots. Anyone who sees our wedding photos gushes over how perfect they are. Shelly also makes an effort to get to know her couples so she can better capture their relationship and also makes sure to confirm ahead of time any must-have shots that you want. She is willing to travel, works with a second shooter if you're looking for a more comprehensive package, and is so good at capturing candids that most of my guests had no clue that she was flitting around. Shelly is the best and I can't recommend her highly enough.

wedding photographer. I knew even before I had met the man of my dreams that she would absolutely need to photograph my wedding. Her work is absolutely flawless and so gorgeous. All of her photos highlight the easiness and the love between the two people she is photographing. She has this amazing ability to capture the absolute BEST and most intimate moments -- and I knew I wanted this for my wedding. As someone who is a little awkward and shy, to begin with, I was super nervous that I would look stupid in photos or look uncomfortable or that it would be just a painful experience. This is exactly the opposite of what happened with Shelly. Shelly immediately made me feel at ease from the moment she walked into my house. She made taking pictures one of the highlights of my day because it was time with the person I loved and Shelly made it feel so natural and effortless. Not only are her engagement photos beautiful, but getting to know Shelly during our engagement session made the world of difference on our actual wedding day. EVERYONE complimented our engagement photos and our wedding photos and said that it was the best they've ever seen. Having a great photographer is one thing you don't want to go cheap on and trust me, she is worth every penny. I've already recommended her to everyone I know who's getting married and I will continue to do so. Will definitely be going back to her for anniversary shoots and maternity shoots when that time comes around.

Additionally, she never made us feel pressed for time like other photographers might do. She even helped out when my dress broke!!! We received the photos a week later (literally over 500 in one week..amazing) and my jaw dropped. They were so beyond beautiful. Her style really captured us and her eye for detail is astounding. I had coworkers asking to see more and more! I could not wait for her to do our wedding. Our wedding was very laid back and intimate, but Shelly treated it with such undivided attention. She caught every moment and then some. We never felt we had to ask her to get certain shots because she was already on top of it. She even drove me to the ceremony because we didn't have it car booked for that time!!! We received over 1700 beautifully edited photos in JUST NINE DAYS and gave us 5 sneak peek photos within 24 hours . That is unheard of. I have friends who have waited 3 months for way less photos. Photography is the most important vendor for your wedding as it captures your day. We could not have made a better choice, I keep looking at the photos over and over again and falling more and more in love. She captured our love and the "in between moments" like I've never seen before. I looked up many photographers before Shelly and have never seen one so genuine, professional, down to earth, and passionate as her. She is the only vendor from our day that we would recommend wholeheartedly . Pros: style of photography, accommodating, responsive, attentiveness, timeliness, value, range of poses and natural poses, eye for detail Cons: literally nothing. We could not have pulled our wedding day off without her! She is incredible, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone with a local or destination wedding!

ed Shelly and we chatted on the phone for a consultation, I just knew we had to book her even though we didn't know any of the other details at that point (we were about 1.5 years away from the wedding haha) When it came to our engagement shoot, I was stressed out. My then-fiance and I unexpectedly hit major San Diego traffic on the way to downtown and were about 30 min late for our session. I was so upset and flustered, and on top of all that, the May Grey creeped in which meant we wouldn't get a beautiful sunset for our pictures :( But Shelly knew how to make the situation better. She bought us two glasses of beer (who does that?!) and just told us to drink and have normal conversation and she would do all the photography work for us. What a relief!! As soon as I finished my beer, I felt so much more at ease and the rest of the engagement session went without a hitch! We had a blast taking photos. After the session, I started to worry that we wouldn't get many shots back since we were super late and it cut into the session. But that night (such perfect timing for my worry-wart soul), she sent us sneak peeks and I was so elated at how beautiful the photos turned out!! You couldn't even tell I was stressed just moments before the session! When we received the rest of the photos (which, btw, was only 3 days later!!) and shared them on Facebook, we kept getting comments that these were the best photos they've ever seen! She captured our goofiness and love so perfectly. We used them for our save the dates too! Leading up to the wedding, every time I had a question, she was always quick to respond. I never had to wait more than a day for a response, and as I got more into the weeds of wedding planning, I realized how important this was. Some vendors take about 2 weeks to respond at a time, but not with Shelly! I really admired her efficiency in getting things done in a timely manner. I never felt like we were a second thought to her! She also got us higher resolution photos when we wanted them blown up for canvases, and added text to a picture we wanted for our guestbook canvas! So sweet!! She even helped us with our wedding day photo itinerary, and the locations she chose for us to do bridal party and party bus photos were spot-on!! On the wedding day, Shelly and Kristen were on time, and so sweet! I didn’t even have a shot list because I trusted Shelly so much to capture our day beautifully without a bride’s direction. They were unobtrusive, very professional, and knew what looked good and what didn’t! I wanted Shelly to get some shots of us on the party bus (because our bridal party is CRAZY) and boy did she deliver! The photos are hilarious!! And we got done with all of our bridal shots early so everyone could enjoy cocktail hour with the rest of the wedding! Most importantly, the wedding photos, which only took 10 days to get back to us. 10 DAYS?! That's unheard of. Every photo is SO beautiful and captures the organic emotion everyone felt during our day. Nothing fake or cliché, and I love how she edits! No photo is washed out like a lot of wedding photos you see nowadays. There is so much color and beauty to each one. Shelly is worth every penny, you won't regret choosing her!!!! :)

come hectic :) My wife and I recently had a destination wedding in Mexico, and we flew Shelly in to capture our most precious moments, and document our magical journey through the camera lens... From the moment she arrived south of the border, to the middle of the night after our reception, the woman was on point - she never stopped working! Up a 6 am the morning before the ceremony, scouting locations for family shots, first-looks, and the best lit areas of the property, this is definitely the type of person you want working for you. She was ready for anything. So organized, in fact, that we were finished early with all of the shots that we wanted pre-ceremony, which allowed my wife and I some much needed 'chill out' time before we actually walked down the aisle :) She was amazing, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend hiring her to anyone in the world. She made us immediately feel comfortable both on and off the camera. We knew we were in good hands when Shelly delivered our engagement photos less than a week later with stunning results. We booked her and her second shooter for seven hours for the wedding day. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Shelly helped us set a photography timeline for the day and went over our shot requests. This was super helpful day of the wedding for us and our bridal party. Everyone knew what to expect, where to go, and when to meet up. It really took the stress out of planning our photos. Day of the wedding, Shelly and her second shooter Paulina arrived right on schedule. We had a great time with our getting ready photos and everyone felt very relaxed with Shelly behind the lens. We had a first look, photos on the beach, and pictures with our bridal party and parents before the ceremony. Shelly was so on top of things, we were done ahead of schedule (who has ever heard of this happening?!) and everyone got to take a few moments at the hotel to relax. It was really nice to connect with everyone and have a last sip of champagne before the ceremony! Our ceremony also went smoothly as Shelly caught all our special moments. All of our pictures came back so beautiful. The details, our portraits, the pictures of our friends and family, and all the candids we received were above and beyond our expectations. g we saw that she had done a photoshoot of another couple at the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica which is where we wanted to have photos taken! Shelly is so accomodating; even though she lives in San Diego, she was more than happy to shoot our engagement photos in LA. Within a couple of days we had all of our photos! We were so impressed with Shelly's kind demeanor, creativity and talent, that we OF COURSE chose her to be our wedding day photographer!!! It was the easiest decision we made! The day of our wedding, Shelly captured the most stunning and natural photos of every detail of our wedding day and of our family and friends. her she had everything planned out for us. The month before the wedding she was nice enough to meet us half way between where she was located at and where we live to make it easier on us! The day of our meeting made us feel completely confident in our decision; which was the same feeling the day of the wedding. She was so nice and personable to everyone in the wedding while taking our photos. The second shooter she had with her was awesome as well. They both worked well with last minute changes, wedding party running late, and handling a large group of people; no matter what came up she adjusted everything to work. During the ceremony I didn't even realize they were there and they captured the most amazing shots. Her photography is beautiful and there is nothing I would change. Her photography brought all of us to tears with how great they were. The one thing we have heard the most about from our wedding was how amazing our photos were and how impressive they came out. To add on top of all of it, she had our photos ready for us only a week after the wedding! I was so shocked that I had my photos so fast to share with family so soon after the wedding! wedding in Washington State and wasn't even able to meet her face-to-face until 4 days before the wedding. She was always professional, responded quickly to emails, etc, etc, etc. As for the day-of, Shelly arrived early, and was so easy going and personable that she was able to get some really nice photos of even the most camera-shy people in my family. I believe that comfortable people are more photogenic, and she was so good at keeping everyone comfortable. The photos themselves turned out AMAZING. Turnaround time was super quick, and I had friends comment on how they looked like something out of a magazine. I'm so glad I'll have these to look back on. None of the photos feel overly posed or awkward and contrived, they all feel so natural and happy I'm just totally blown away. My mom loved them so much that she's talking about using Shelly for my sister's destination wedding in 2017! She's absolutely worth every penny.

. Mainly my family thought they knew what was best for me (not surprising!). They wanted certain lighting and editing done, and I showed Shelly some example photographs. She went out of her way and re-edited some of her blog photos for me to try to get close to what I was looking for. I told her to scratch what I had requested and to just edit however she liked! Our engagement session was successful. She was patient with my aunt who was also taking a ton of pictures, I was upset my aunt would get in the way, but Shelly worked around it :) Now onto the main thing, only less than 2 weeks later, Shelly had finished our wedding photos!!!! And the lighting and editing was phenomenal! She also releases her favorite picks onto her blog, where she gives a heart warming description of the wedding couple. I was sharing her blog as well as some photos in our personal website with all of our family and friends. Everyone was blown away! I had so many people say our photos were the best they have ever seen. Shelly's price for her quality of photography is more than fair, I have seen ridiculously priced packages and the quality does not even come close. Now all of my engaged friends and single friends all want to book her in the future :) I am not hesitating to book with Shelly again in the future (BABY PICS?!?!)! Not to mention, my fiance and I are not the best models...but she posed us very well and we looked so natural in our photos. So happy I found her!! This was actually a great suggestion of hers, as we had a lot of dancing and "party" part of the night, we didn't really need her until the very end. It ended up saving us money, and we still have plenty of pictures from the dancing. She showed up early at the house we were getting ready at and got straight to work. I love looking through the photos Shelly and Megan took and seeing parts of the night I didn’t experience. One thing I really appreciate about Shelly is that she anticipates what’s happening next; she was always in the right place at the right time to get an important shot. Also important, she was able to give instructions to my large bridal party and family! Shelly was easy and fun to work with during the planning process, as well. She responded promptly to my emails, answered my questions in great detail, work with me when I needed to reschedule our e-shoot, gave honest advice and opinions when I asked for it and helped me develop a flawless day-of timeline. And her prices are more than competitive and well worth all the hard work she does. She gave us over 1,000 wedding photos less than a week after our wedding and they are all edited flawlessly. The archive website she uses is also very easy to work with. I hope for another event where I need photography because Shelly is wonderful to spend time with and produces the most gorgeous photos!

t Shelly was absolutely amazing. She met me for lunch over sushi to talk about engagement and wedding photography and I instantly loved her. She captured the feel of what I wanted right away and from there I relied on her opinions and expertise greatly. For the engagement shoot, my husband and I were a fish out of water when it came to posing for photos and she got us comfortable right away. She was really able to capture the love and joy of that day, not only in my husband and I, but in all of our family and friends. She was absolutely amazing to work with and I feel like work isn't even the right word. We just had so much fun! The quality of work she did for us far surpassed any of the other photographers I had researched in the Southern California and Napa / Sonoma Vally regions AND her prices were better. My wedding party called her the "Wonderwoman" because she alone did what takes two photographers in other weddings. I can't say enough good things about her as a photographer and a professional. It was a seamless process and super easy to share all my photos with family and friends via the personal site she made for our portfolio.
