Shelly and Max were the best! Every photo and video that was captured was beautiful. I was worried about trying to plan a wedding from a different state, but Shelly and Max helped make the process easy. I trusted both Shelly and Max from the beginning and I am so glad my husband and I decided to work with them. Both captured GORGEOUS photos and videos of the day of the wedding and the next day during our second location photoshoot. Both Shelly and Max made me feel special and are so creative with what they do. I also really appreciated how dedicated and determined they were. Once we received our photos and videos, it was such a magical moment to relive that moment; I almost wanted to cry because of how beautiful everything turned out. Thank you, Shelly and Max, for capturing my husband's and my special day. We cannot wait to share it with our family and friends during our at-home wedding celebration!

Shelly and Max are absolutely amazing. My wife and I could not have asked for a better experience or photographer and videographer for our wedding. Shelly and Max were very communicative leading up to the wedding, were completely open to our ideas, and were so attentive and patient with our families on the day of our wedding - practically bringing a slice of calm to the day. They went absolutely above and beyond with everything they had done, and they clearly are an amazing team. Our sneak peeks look amazing, and we are so excited to see the rest of our photos and video from our wedding! Hoping to one day eventually come back to the island for family pictures one day, and we already know who we will go with! Thanks so much for you guys, your production, and everything you have done!

AMAZING!! Shelly is absolutely incredible to work with! Professional, talented, so friendly, and up for an adventure! Not only did she travel to Maui for our elopement, but she traveled around half the island with us to get to some of the best locations. We had a couple, completely out of our control, issues and Shelly handled them all like a true pro! Our original officiant had to back out for personal reasons and Shelly recommended an amazing woman; shout out to Elisabeth Stapleton for stepping up for us! Then there was a full on downpour the morning of our sunrise ceremony which made our original location a bit risky to use and Shelly was prepared with a beautiful (and safe) backup location! The crazy wind day of also made the drone unusable, but Shelly quickly switched gears and got some video footage which I am so excited for and took some long range shots so we could still get some similar photos. Speaking of photos, our preview gallery is stunning!! We have got to be one of the most awkward and camera shy couples ever, yet we look relaxed and natural! Shelly is doing some kind of magic behind that camera and it works! So excited to see our full gallery!

Absolutely furious with my experience with this vendor. They are only available up until the day you sign the contract. After that, it takes several days or weeks to receive a return e-mail or phone call. We made the mistake of booking this photographer for our Hawaii trip. They didn’t even bother to confirm the photoshoot. I had to call her the day of the shoot, and they didn’t answer the phone. She called back and briefly mentioned that she was preparing to call me, but when you pay someone $600+ dollars for services, the least they could do is confirm the appointment the day before. Fast forward to the day the shoot was scheduled for on the contract. It rained, so the shoot had to be rescheduled, however she was booked for the rest of the week. Instead of refunding the payment for the services (and we had received absolutely none up until this point besides e-mails returned days to weeks later and a single phone call), she says that we would have to drive three hours across the island to meet her at a location for another photoshoot that she already had scheduled and would only return half of the deposit if we decided to cancel. They were willing and ready to keep $300+ dollars for responding to two (2) e-mails days to weeks after the initial correspondences were sent, a single phone call, and nothing else. We drove across the island (a three (3) hour drive that we absolutely did not want to make on what was supposed to be a family vacation) and were late to the time that she dictated as a result of the weather in combination with the distance. Leaving the location, she told us that she would send preview pictures the following Sunday. Didn’t happen. We didn’t hear from her again. I texted two weeks later to verify when we would be receiving our photo gallery. No response. I followed up again via e-mail a week later and she e-mailed back a snarky response saying that they don’t maintain text communications after sessions and I should refer to my contract (the one that contains a date and location where the photoshoot was not held). The pictures were finally delivered today. The contract shows that they would be delivered within three (3) weeks, which per the date on the contract, would have been three days ago. It’s clear that there was not very much effort that went into the editing process. There are even purple lines around my silhouette in some of the pictures. Others of the pictures are more about the background than the subjects and are pixelated when you zoom in. I shared six of the photos with one of my bridesmaids and her reaction was literally,”Where is the sun? Did she give you all a discount?” Embarrassing. I also shared them with another professional photographer and their commentary was, “Nothing is in focus. There is literally no focal point in any of these images.” We originally wanted to use these pictures for our wedding invitation, but between being reminded of the terrible experience and the picture quality, it absolutely will not happen. While I understand that you can’t control the weather, you absolutely can control how you treat your clientele. This was a complete and absolute failure every step of the way from the lack of responsiveness and failure to confirm the booking all the way through to the final product. AVOID, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A BRIDE. THIS WILL JUST ADD MORE STRESS LEADING UP TO AND AFTER YOUR WEDDING.

I couldn’t recommend Shelly enough!! She shot our elopement and Max shot a video a few weeks ago, we are so happy with our photos and video! Shelly was super kind and helpful in the planning process and went out of her way to make suggestions for florals, officiants, and other services we were looking into for our trip. As a couple who had never been to Hawaii and coming from PA that was so helpful. The shoot itself was super relaxed and a lot of fun. The photos and video were ready within a few weeks and we got a few sneak peeks just days after our shoot. 10/10 recommend hiring Shelly and Max!!!

We scheduled our photo session with Shelly towards the end of our trip. We had used much of our time playing in Hawaii first. Shelly assured us that she had plenty of time at our session. She took the most incredible pictures at a steady pace while being so understanding of our ages. I was nervous and she put me at ease. We were elated at the opportunity to be able to work with such a high-profile photographer in the amount of time we had! They are the photographs of a lifetime! Shelly was so fun and professional. She directed us on some simple activities to get incredible pictures. Ours was a vowel renewal and not an actual wedding. We were treated the very same way as if we were newly married!

I found Shelly Lynn here on The Knot and contacted her pretty quickly after browsing her portfolio. Not soon after I heard from her and we set up a phone chat. She helped me with flower arrangements, finding an officiant, and beach location suggestions. I felt very taken care of throughout the process. The day was pretty windy and there was a lot of vog (from the volcano) but Shelly and her husband Max were so professional about everything and they really made us feel at ease about the weather. When I got the album I was blown away. She had mentioned several times that the vog acts as a diffusor and actually helps the light look softer. She was so right, the pictures are stunning and we couldn't have been happier. Thank you!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Everything about Shelly and her husband were above and beyond. The photos were breath taking. They were both so skilled and helpful with poses and definitely made our awkward group photos turn out stunning and so fun! Shelly listened to exactly what we wanted, and somehow did even better than our expectations! We even got a second destination photo shoot away from our venue included in the package. I’m so happy we took the opportunity to do this because these pictures will last us a life time. She was willing to drive all over to where we wanted to go, and even climbed down a cliff for our photo shoot 😝 I will never stop recommending Shelly! This bride is very happy she chose Shelly on the most important day of her life.

I originally contacted Shelly to take photos of my family during a manta ray tour. Unfortunately, we had to cancel because I was admitted to the hospital for 12 days. Shelly was understanding and caring as she continued to see how I was doing. A couple of weeks later, I had to have another medical procedure. During that stay I was told my stage 4 lung cancer (never smoker here) was progressing and I should plan my bucket list trip to the Big Island ASAP - meaning in a couple of days. I quickly contacted Shelly to reserve her for a manta ray tour and also to see if she was available to photograph a last minute vow renewal ceremony. I was originally thinking there is no way we can pull off anything in a few days so we would just have our kids say a few things and have Shelly take pictures. Well Shelly showed she was a miracle worker and went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. She reserved a wonderful wedding officiant who officiated a beautiful ceremony on such short notice. Shelly tracked down a florist who was able to make a special lei I had seen in a picture, as well as leis for my husband, 3 kids and my mother. She picked them up for us and delivered them to the ceremony. Shelly also contacted us a couple of days before our vow renewal saying she had found a ukulele player if we were interested. He was an amazing addition and completed our vow renewal ceremony. During this experience, her communication was quick and compassionate. I don’t know how she organized and executed this all within DAYS. But she made it happen. Between organizing and capturing our vow renewal and capturing our manta ray tour, my family will have lasting wonderful memories of this bucket list trip. I am so thankful Shelly happened to come into my life and will be forever grateful.

Shelly was a true life saver! My husband and I were traveling to HI for our 25th anniversary. We hired a travel agent that was supposed to find us a photographer to do wedding-like photos for us. There was no wedding, but e never had photos done at the time of our wedding, so we wanted that style. Well the travel agent never found us one. They completely dropped the ball and we found out 5 days before our trip. To say we were sad is an understatement! I called Shelly out of the blue snd she had just gotten back from her honeymoon. She had a date planned with her new husband on the only day that worked four us. She did NOT have to do this, but she canceled her date…but then went way above and beyond to get us the absolutely stunning photos we had been so desperately hoping for snd dreaming of. She picked out and picked up (we paid) two gorgeous bouquets of flowers. She bought (she paid) a bottle of champagne for some awesome champagne shots. She drove all over the island trying to accommodate the exact pictures we were dreaming of and she was such a joy, blessing, and gift! The entire day (she met us at sunrise and sunset in different locations!) she was just so incredible! Polite, friendly, kind, helpful, passionate, and professional. You will NOT go wrong going with her! She’s incredible and her pictures turned out phenomenally!

We booked Shelly to do our first ever photos in Hawaii and we are so in love with both her and the photos ! Shelly responded to my emails both before booking and during very quickly and efficiently. She made sure to capture everything I had wanted and was great with our children. So glad someone mentioned her name on our Hawaii fb page. We can’t wait to take pictures again if we ever get a chance :) I also love following her instagram to see all the stunning wedding and engagement photos she takes!

We did a family photo shoot with Shelly and absolutely loved the experience (and of course the photos)! Shelly got to our shoot location early and when it was too crowded, quickly suggested an alternate location just before we were on our way. Shelly made it such a fun experience even with a toddler and a baby in tow. We will cherish the memory and our beautiful family portraits forever!

Working with Shelly was a dream come true! She took our wedding photos in Hilo with her husband Max filming drone footage. She was so wonderful to work with and was so accommodating of all my wants and needs! She came prepared with inspiration photos and we were ready to do any of the poses she suggested. During our beach photo shoot, she even stepped in the water to get us action shots! Even though my husband and I have quite a height difference, she was able to frame the photos with both of us in there perfectly! She even adjusted my hair after we had a photo lying down in the grass. All in all, she was absolutely wonderful and the tone and atmosphere of her photos were exactly what I was looking for! I would HIGHLY suggest you book with Shelly!!

Absolutely in love with Shelly! My husband and I were visiting Hawaii back in September 2021 for our anniversary and Shelly was MORE than accommodating for our needs. We were staying in Maui and she flew to us from the Big Island which was so easy for us. She helped us with outfit choices, and even sent multiple locations that she’s used before! We love her, and love her personality. For a couple who doesn’t know how to pose, she helped us so much! She placed us and made us laugh, and made the hour go by quickly… we ended up with at least 20 perfect pics! A few are printed in our home back in Oklahoma. We told her if she ever comes close to us, or to the main land… we want to see her and want another session! 😍 Thank you Shelly!
