Shelly is incredible to work with. She sat down with me to really understand my vision, asking me about specifics I hadn't even thought about. She was attentive to my budget and kept me in the loop throughout the planning process. While working with her was wonderful, the final product was the best part of all! My wedding florals were exactly what I had hoped for and more. She perfectly captured our vibe of "Delft Blue meets the Emerald Isle," and I will cherish the beauty they added to our ceremony and reception for decades to come!

Shelly did a fabulous job with our wedding flowers!! She was recommended to us by our venue, but had previously done our friends' weddings that turned out beautiful as well. She was extremely quick the morning of the wedding and made sure to have our bouquets and floral arch completed in time for our pre-ceremony photos. I had even requested that she included a dahlia flower that we had grown ourselves in my bridal bouquet that had grown a very funky/awkward stem that wouldn't fit in a normal bouquet, and somehow she made it work without damaging the flower or the stem! Everything turned out very beautiful!

Shelly was beyond incredible. She took everything I asked for and made it even better than I could have ever imagined. We got so many compliments on our florals, it was the biggest hit at our wedding. I can't thank Shelly enough.

Shelly Sarver Designs made my vision come to life. Shelly exceeded all of my expectations. Her knowledge of florals and designs showed through with her recommendations and ideas. We loved how she took our vision and added to it to make it perfect . She was lovely to work with and I will always recommend her. She is the best in the business. We never once worried about florals - we loved how Shelly does florals and decor (we had her do majority candles with some florals - she even hung our neon sign with a backdrop) and it was STUNNING. She did all set up, executing, and tear down. It was all in her hands and it was perfect. She was respectful, kind, and such a breeze to work with - she respected our vision and thoughts with florals, decorations, and budget.

We LOVED working with Shelly. Not only is Shelly an amazing artist, but she is a great listener. Shelly was able to take my vague ideas of how I wanted the day to feel and make it a reality. Amazing eye for design, thoughtful listener and reliable, you can't go wrong.

Shelly made the colors POP for our wedding- we wanted a color scheme that had not really been done before - bright but elegant, romantic but spunky, classic but a bit edgy. She was absolutely fabulous and completely got IT! Our wedding flowers were beautiful. Thanks, Shelly!

I found Shelly Sarver designs on social media, and was immediately blown away by her stunningly beautiful, creative and unique floral designs! Then I met her in person, and our design meeting was probably the most fun meeting I’ve had planning our wedding. Shelly actually designed florals for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding, and both designs were so unique and different! We had so many plans for beautiful, summery florals before our June wedding got postponed due to COVID. Despite our new wedding date being in December, Shelly made sure we had the original flowers we had planned for and literally had them FLOWN IN from South America! Our wedding guests were in awe asking how we had managed to get these florals in December. But that’s Shelly for you. She went above and beyond for us to have the wedding we had originally envisioned. Overall our wedding weekend was extremely beautiful, and that is in a large part due to Shelly’s creative and gorgeous designs. She really took my vision and turned it into a reality, the highlight of which was our jaw-dropping chuppah for our Jewish ceremony, which was later re-purposed for our reception (design and functionality = my favorite combination!). She also has some beautiful props we utilized, such as shelving and goblets, so don’t forget to ask her about those. Thank you so much Shelly for turning my floral dreams into a reality! Shelly was an absolute joy to work with! Shelly designed the bouquets, flower crown, floating floral hoops, and floral arch for our wedding in September. She exceeded every single hope I had for each piece! Somehow, she was able to not only understand my ideas, but bring them to life beautifully. She really took the time to get to know me and the wedding my husband and I were hoping to have. She is a complete master of floral design and brings incredible knowledge and expertise. Shelly was so respectful of our budget and created breathtaking designs without breaking the bank. The arrangements were STUNNING and the venue was beyond perfect. Her creativity left me completely speechless. To top it all off, Shelly has such a fun personality. She is funny, kind, and very passionate about what she does. In my opinion, nothing compares to what Shelly creates as a florist. I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted, but I knew that in hiring Shelly she would create something far better than I could have imagined and she really delivered on that! Our florals were something special and the installation Shelly created for our head table was something that I know guests will be talking about for a long time. Shelly is a very busy person with lots of weddings/events (honestly not sure how she does it because you can tell that so much time goes into each one when you see the photos of them) so I recommend reaching out to her via phone if/when you want to check in with her! 10000% book Shelly, she is worth every penny.

I am getting married in May of 2021 and have been searching for a florist for my big day. I met with Shelly a couple of weeks ago for an initial consultation appointment. My mom and I drove over an hour away for the appointment. Upon arrival, the studio was empty and Shelly had not arrived yet. When she did arrive she did not have her iPad set up for the consultation and was very underprepared for our appointment. I was 100% ready to just write this off as things happen and sometimes you just run a little bit behind. Our appointment was November 21 (I am writing this on December 8th) and I have not yet heard back from Shelly. I was anticipating a quote from her within a few days (and even gave her a few extra days before following up due to Thanksgiving) but I still have not heard back from her. I have sent two follow up emails asking when I could expect a quote and still have no response from her. I follow the Shelly Sarver Designs instagram and have seen multiple posts to their stories of wreath making classes and other design things that they have going on. I understand that she is probably very busy, but there is no excuse for the lack of response from her. In our meeting Shelly was nothing but kind, but I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism from her. I just feel as though my time as a paying client would have been more valuable to her, especially as a client with no set floral budget for my large wedding. I wish I could be writing a positive review and that things would have turned out differently from our initial consultation.

Shelly and her team designed my florals for my November 2019 wedding. They were, without a doubt, a WORK OF ART. Shelly is so unbelievably talented and her work shines through so perfectly in every floral piece she designs. I was a needy bride throughout the year and a half I planned, and Shelly’s attention to detail and patience through the planning process makes her by far one of the best floral designers in the Midwest. We have gotten so many compliments on the flowers and reception décor – our reception venue looked like a DREAM and it was even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Shelly is a wonderful florist and decorator. She's detail-oriented and really seeks to nail your desired look. She has an eye for many styles of design. I had a little trouble getting ahold of people at the business here and there, but it was a small part of an overall great experience.

Shelly Sarver Designs has been an absolute DREAM to work with! We quickly snagged Shelly as our wedding florist for so many reasons. My fiancé and I are from the Iowa City area, so when I found out that Shelly Sarver Designs was almost 2 hours away, I was a little worried about the distance between us. But Shelly was extremely flexible when scheduling us for a consultation and ultimately was excited to travel to Iowa City to take part in our big day! During the consultation process, Shelly asked so many great, unexpected questions and got right down to what our dream looked like. She got our creative sides flowing (which isn’t easy) and gave us so many ideas that will make our day different than any other! After the consultation, she got back to us within a week with a detailed quote so that we could visualize what we had discussed in the consultation while staying within our budget. This was a HUGE part of our decision as it made our dream and budget fit with ease. Shelly is truly an expert in the floral service and with just one look at her work through her website and Instagram page, we knew we wanted her team to be a part of our big day. I truly cannot say enough good things about Shelly! I went to her with my ideas, thoughts, and visions, and she took them and ran with them. After our initial meeting, she was able to give me a range in terms of price for each piece so that I was able to decide what I wanted to spend more/less on to stay within our budget. From the bouquets to our arch garland to the table center pieces, everything looked SO much better than I had ever pictured. Our florals are easily one of our favorite parts of our wedding day, and all of that is thanks to Shelly and her team!

The flowers were stunning, absolutely breathtaking. Even better than I really could have imagined. She listened to what I was hoping for and delivered in a big way. My only issues were prior to the wedding day during our meetings. She didn’t like the owner of my venue and she let me know it. I didn’t need to know about their drama especially since at the point of our contract there was nothing I could do about it, my venue was booked. Not everyone gets along but maintain your professionalism. I also understand that her money is made by selling flowers, but I had a budget that I wanted to be under and to reach that I needed to utilize some silk flowers in addition for the table settings. She made me feel terrible for even thinking about it. Ultimately, I did a little bit of silk and reutilized the aisle flowers inside as well as the bouquets and it was stunning. She didn’t need to make me feel badly about it. All in all, the gorgeousness of the bouquets outweighed all the feelings I had before.

Shelly is the best. Every time I see her arrangements I am in love and my wedding was no different. My bouquet was truly a work of art. She also creating the most amazing hanging piece for our ceremony and head table. I was able to meet with her twice before the wedding and just left the rest to her! I would send all my friends to her again and again.

Shelly is a true visionary and I cannot say enough about her work. She somehow managed to make sense of the words I used to describe my vision and the photos I had pinned to Pinterest in order to truly make my dream wedding a dream come true. She is able to help brides identify exactly what they do and do not like about certain floral elements, and she works with each bride's individual needs and budget as best she can. At first, I thought she was a bit out of our budget but she was willing to work with us as best she could, and in the end I am so glad. It was truly a dream come true to have her as our florist. Highly recommend!

Our floral design was absolutely stunning! We received many compliments throughout the event and after. I quite honestly didn't know much about floral design when we started wedding planning, but Shelly walked us through it every step of the way. Shelly was AMAZING to work with!! I had seen her work on Facebook and I was blown away with her style/creativity -- I knew I had to have her do my wedding flowers. I knew I loved the flowly/free look of flowers, but I had no idea on what types of flowers I wanted/colors/etc. I sent her pictures of my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, tuxes, etc. and told her to work her magic. She totally brought the vision I had in my head to life -- better than I could have ever imagined!! I still get compliments on how gorgeous our wedding flowers were. Shelly will truly help make your wedding dreams come true.

Shelly was a pleasure to work with and her flowers were beautiful for my day. I had a beautiful pergola with flowers and bouquets for my bridesmaid and myself. The centerpieces at my reception were gorgeous and huge I was really happy with the turn out of these, she also had let me rent the stands that the centerpieces rested on. My only complaints would be that my bouquet weighed 15lbs so that was difficult to hold throughout the day for pictures and for the entire 30 minute ceremony, my pergola only had flowers half way down the posts and not to the bottom like I had asked and shown pictures of, if was difficult at times to get ahold of Shelly or meet up with her, but other than those minor things everything was perfection and I would recommend her to any future brides.

I can not say enough about Shelly. She exceeded all my expectations and beyond!! If your looking for a florist for ANY event Shelly is by far the best and I would highly recommend her!!

Shelly's work is unrivaled in the Des Moines area. Early on, I didn't think florals would play a big role in my day, only because I didn't know how to communicate the types of flowers I wanted to be incorporated into my bouquet or the center pieces. After learning more about Shelly Sarver, I knew she would be perfect for my day. I gave Shelly an idea of what I wanted my day to look like, along with a variety of colors I would like incorporated. From there, I let Shelly take the reins. She came up with the most beautiful bouquets, centerpieces, and a floral headpiece that made me tear up. I would highly recommend Shelly, especially if you're willing to let her take creative control because she will come up with something far more beautiful than most can imagine. For the brides who are big on over-communicating like me, do keep in mind that Shelly may not always respond right away, but know and trust that she has everything under control and will create gorgeous floral arrangements for your day!

I went looking for a florist, and found a friend. Shelly was by far the vendor I connected with the best. She went above and beyond in her service to us as a couple. From the very beginning, she helped us develop our vision for our wedding day and encouraged us to stay true to that. I allowed her to take a lot of creative freedom after seeing her work, and I'm so glad I did. She made our reception venue come to life. Guests commented all night about the whimsical ambience of the tables, and I was so pleased to walk into the reception with my husband and see the beauty that Shelly had created. Not to mention, holding my bouquet all day made me feel like a princess - she included all those important blooms that we had talked about, and my bridesmaids were equally impressed. She is a lovely human being that anyone would be lucky to work with. Just take a look at her Instagram and you'll be sold!

My only feedback would be to figure out communication - I was a bride from Orlando and email wasn't the best form of communication. With that said, is use Shelly again for any event in Dea Mounes!
