We loved Shepherd’s Run for our wedding. It was the most perfect day and the scenery and atmosphere spoke for itself!
We just got married at Shepherd's Run in August of this year and it was truly the BEST venue we could have asked for. From the start, we were in awe of how beautiful Shepherd's Run is and the different locations on the site we could choose from for the ceremony and reception. We ended up having the ceremony in the garden and the reception in the tent which turned out to be the most beautiful locations we could have dreamed of. Jackie and Rowan were extremely helpful, FUN to work with and attentive throughout the entire wedding process. They helped us with anything and everything while giving such honest advice and feedback. They had such good experience and knew Shepherd's Run so well that the planning and day of went so smoothly. Our guests continue to rave about how beautiful and fun of a venue Shepherd's Run was and how special of a place it is. Our guests enjoyed the venue all weekend long including wine tastings, yoga classes and the pool which was a really special touch to the weekend. We have a lot of guests traveling from out of state so it was convenient to have rooms on site and hotels within such a close distance to the venue. We also loved being able to get ready on site in the living room in the spa (and a hotel room for the groom/groomsmen). All in all, picking Shepherd's Run as our wedding venue was the best decision we could have made and we can't wait to continue going back to celebrate our anniversaries in the future!!
My husband and I just got married here on October 18 2024 and it was magical. I can’t wait for all the photos. We got engaged in May of 2022 and went here to celebrate our engagement with my family. Upon arrival something just clicked and I was smitten. We asked if they did weddings and made an appointment for a tour in the spot. This was the only venue we visited, we were sold. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Yesx1000000. This place is gorgeous and the perfect vibe for us as a couple. My girls got ready in the two bedroom suite and my husband got ready with his boys in the south wing suite. It was luxury. The day could not have been more perfect, the staff so prepared. They cater exclusively with blackstone which was delicious. We already have plans to celebrate our first anniversary in one of the manor rooms and have some spa treatments. Thank you SR!!!
Our August 2024 wedding at Shepherd's Run was perfection!! The first key feature we looked for in a venue was the ability to stay on site, and the second was beautiful and modern design/architecture; Shepherd's Run nails both. We and our guests booked most of the Inn's lovely rooms so the weekend felt really ours and intimate. Guests loved the wine bar and we loved working with Blackstone Caterers, their dinner was elevated and delicious. The Inn's breakfasts are also incredible and Aaron the Innkeeper is such a pleasure to work with. From our first tour all the way through execution, Rowan and Jackie were on top of every detail. Our event ran unbelievably smooth and we could not be more grateful for their support and organization. Thank you Shepherd's Run for bringing our wedding dream to life!! Can't wait to come back to visit on our anniversary.
The best wedding venue/hotel there is! I recently had my wedding at Shepherds Run and it was a dream come true. The venue is breathtaking and the hotel rooms are pristine. From the first time we met with Jackie to tour the space, all the way through the wedding weekend, she was there for my husband and I every step of the planning process. Jackie and Rowan are a dream team for any bride planning a wedding. They are so kind, friendly, flexible, knowledgeable, organized - I could go on and on! My wedding day would not have been the same without them. Jackie and Rowan were always in touch throughout the many months of wedding planning and were always patient and available to answer any questions or meet with me. On my actual wedding day, they couldn’t have been more helpful or kinder. For the hotel portion of the venue - our family, wedding party, and friends all stayed onsite for the weekend and Aaron was phenomenal throughout the wedding block and hotel room organization process. Aaron was always willing to meet with us to go over the weekend plans, and always a quick email away to help us out. Jackie, Rowan, and Aaron are true professionals and who you want to work with for your wedding!
Truly a dream venue. Shepherd's Run is completely beautiful, the team is fabulous, the spaces available are perfection, and we cannot wait to go back! We had our wedding in the garden & reception in tent - our guests have not stopped talking about how stunning the property is and how amazing the staff was (special shout out to inn manager Aaron)! We had a handful of guests stay in their accommodations as well and they were blown away by the hotel rooms, spa/wellness center, and of course, winery options! It's so special to be able to be married at a venue where you can go back and visit for a day trip or overnight stay. We know where we'll be going for our first anniversary :)
Absolute best experience at Shepherds Run! I could not have asked for a better day. The team there is very well versed in weddings & events they have it down to a science! They made everything so easy and so smooth and made sure I was fully taken care of from planning to execution. Highly highly recommend! I could not have done it without the SR team!!
We had our wedding this past June and we could not imagine having it anywhere else! The whole team at Shepherd's Run were amazing. Jackie and Rowan made the whole process easy and made the day run smoothly. I felt like all I had to so was show up & enjoy the day. The Blackstone staff were also wonderful! The food was great, and the guests loved it so much! The whole experience was amazing, and I got so many compliments on how beautiful everything was!
We had the most magical and beautiful wedding at Shepherd’s Run this June. We fell in love with this venue when we first saw it about two years ago and knew this was the place for our wedding. Jackie and Rowan made the wedding planning process so easy and smooth. Rowan was my go to person these last 6 or so months, always answering my (many) emails in a quick and timely manner. Rowan made the ceremony and cocktail hour run so smoothly, my husband and I are so grateful for her expertise! The Blackstone staff were amazing and everyone raved about the service and food. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. 🤍
We knew the moment we walked through Shepherd's Run, that we wanted to have our wedding there and everything exceeded our expectations. Rowan & Jackie were incredible planners and helped us put together our dream wedding. The entire staff was unbelievable and made our day even more special. We could not have asked for a more perfect February wedding at Shepherd's Run.
My wife and I had an idea of how our wedding day would unfold. But our experience at Shepherds Run exceeded even our wildest dreams. Jackie & Rowan take so much pressure off the planning process, they are always a phone call away, and clearly lay out next steps and key deadlines. The venue itself is immaculate, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction. I cannot encourage you enough to have your wedding here. Truly you won't regret it.
My wife and I just hosted our daughter's wedding at Shepard's Run, and we couldn't be any happier that this was our venue for this important day. From the moment that we arrived at the historic building and grounds, our daughter and her now husband, and us, realized that this was the perfect spot for our small wedding and that they could accommodate our short time frame. Jackie, Rowan and the team planned and executed a beautiful event that reflected everything we discussed, from the ceremony in Beatrix Garden, to the wine and appetizers outside, to the cozy and magical dinner in the Wine Room. The food and service were impeccable, thanks to the in-house chef and kitchen preparing appetizers and the most delicious family style dinner. The guestrooms were very comfortable and the large two-bedroom suite for the newlyweds was the perfect space for the bride, her two sisters and the two mothers to prepare for the wedding day and take fabulous pictures. Speaking of pictures, there are many great settings inside and out for photos and memories that will live on forever, as will the wonderful experience that all of us and our guests had at this fabulous, special place in Rhode Island.
We had the most beautiful wedding we could have imagined at Shepherd's Run. The staff was welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and full of guidance to assist us in making our day as smooth and joyous as possible. While it is a pricey venue, it felt very worth it to us to have our special day here!
Our wedding day exceeded our hopes and dreams thanks to coordinators, Jackie and Rowan. We booked this venue immediately upon our first visit due to its perfect balance of historical and contemporary charm. Jackie, Rowan and the rest of the team were so accommodating to our needs, especially when it unexpectedly rained an hour before our ceremony. They were quick to make sure our day ran as seamlessly as possible. We are so thankful to Shepherd's Run and Blackstone Catering for helping make our wedding day so special!
There aren’t too many places that feel completely magical even when they’re under construction. Shepherd’s Run felt like a historic European bed and breakfast, with the added charm of a New England beach town.
We feel so lucky to have found this place. We wanted a venue that was beautiful and friendly, where we could gather our friends and family under a sailcloth tent on a summer night, and where at least some of our guests could make themselves at home for the entire weekend (there were ten incredible guest rooms available when we got married in July 2023, and more were about to open). Shepherd’s Run let us do all of that - and unlike other Newport-area venues, it didn’t cost the equivalent of a house.
For our wedding, we worked with Jackie and Rowan from Blackstone for the planning process and day-of logistics, and Aaron helped with our room block and kept our guests happy with wine tastings around the wedding weekend. They were all wonderfully helpful and friendly, even as their venue seems to become bigger and busier every day. And that’s for good reason. Each part of the wedding day felt special and distinct, and they all flowed together perfectly. We used Beatrix Garden for the ceremony, the back patio for our cocktail hour, and the tent for our reception. We took photos in the vineyard and popped champagne on the balcony of our suite. My husband also spent the night before the wedding on the property, and absolutely loved waking up on our wedding day and eating breakfast with his friends in the gorgeous dining area.
Some of our guests also scheduled wine tastings before the wedding, and It was so fun having Shepherd’s Run’s wines passed during cocktail hour to give our guests the full experience of the property. We are already plotting our anniversary trips to relive our special day!
We got married at Shepherd’s Run in September of 2023! It was a perfect day, 73 degrees and sunny. The garden was a beautiful place for our ceremony, the terrace was the most spacious cocktail hour and we celebrated in the tent the rest of the night! We can’t speak highly enough of Jackie and Rowan, the wedding coordinators, who went above and beyond in ensuring that we had a perfect day. You can tell that they love what they do, and they do it so well! I strongly recommend Shepherds Run for their atmosphere, unlimited opportunities, and most importantly their people.
We had our spectacular wedding reception at Shepherd’s Run in April 2023. Working with all the folks at Shepherd’s Run and Blackstone, especially Jackie and Rowan, was a fantastic experience. We couldn’t say more about how professional the entire staff was and how easy it was to work with everyone. Throughout the entire process, we felt the team was organized, attentive and truly invested in us and our wedding day. Thank you to all we worked with!
There are no words to describe how amazing this venue is. Relatively new to the area (two years old), I was blown away when we first looked at Shepherd's Run back in 2021, and from our first tour, I instantly knew it was where we needed to get married. The beautiful charm of the property transports you to what feels like a European countryside. Everyone on property was WONDERFUL to deal with - from Ryan, to Gina, to Aaron. We had all of our guests stay at the brand new guest rooms (which just opened July 2023), and people were WOWED with the room décor and the service. The partnership with Blackstone Catering (Karen, Jackie, and Rowan) is perfect as well - true experts in the field who provide top-notch food and service too. I am looking forward to watching Shepherd's Run continue to shine - with a lot of exciting projects lined up (spa, pool, etc.). I cannot recommend this venue enough!!!!!!!!!
Exceptional – that is how to describe both Shepherds Run and Blackstone Caterers. The venue is beautiful and Blackstone as a caterer is simply superb and the food was delicious.
From the moment we toured the venue 18 months ago, we knew this setting was the one. Jackie Sahagian, from Blackstone, was our event coordinator and was on top of everything from day
one, making suggestions and guiding the entire process. Her associate Rowan had control of every little detail.
Everyone dreams and prays for a beautiful sunny warm day. That was not to be. It was 50 degrees, with 20 mph winds, and overcast and drizzly. Around noon Jackie approached us and suggested moving the reception inside the event hall rather than in the tent and moving the cocktail hour from the beautiful Beatrice Garden to inside the historic inn, with its remarkably beautiful Wine Hall and Rush Sturgis Study.
Without skipping a beat, the teams from the Run and Blackstone moved our 10-foot wedding arch to the other side of the curtain so they could set-up , then moved the arch back to the chapel for photos at the our request, and then moved it back to the other side again. After the beautiful ceremony the guests went into the Run for wine, cocktails, and appetizers. Meanwhile the team set up the rest of the tables in the Event Hall and moved the arch once again in front of the floor-length windows. It was a work of art to behold the coordination! And best of all, the guests were warm and toasty!
We opted to buyout the beautiful historic inn. It was so convenient for the wedding party. We all enjoyed a glass of wine and then coffee and delicious pastry in the morning.
You can not go wrong with Shepherd’s Run and Blackstone. We suggest you make this setting your dream come true, as we did.
Shepherd’s Run is a fairly new, hidden gem and THE best RI wedding venue! My husband and I tied the knot Memorial Day weekend at Shepherd’s Run, and it was beyond our expectations! Everything was perfect thanks to Jackie and Rowan, the best event coordinators! From the moment we toured the venue (which was the only venue we toured because we immediately fell in love), all the way through our wedding weekend, they consistently answered all our questions and kept us completely organized. We booked the bridal suite for pre-ceremony photos which was the perfect spot for getting ready photos with my mom, aunt and bridesmaids! The suite has two bedrooms, which was perfect for my mom and aunts stay, and it has a gorgeous deck for outdoor photos. The best part about this venue is the multiple options you have for both indoor and outdoor celebrations! We were lucky enough to have amazing weather for the garden ceremony, manor terrace cocktail hour, and reception under their beautiful tent! The grounds and estate are unreal and breathtaking. They’re partnered with Blackstone Caterers, and their food and services are just as amazing as the venue. I could go on and on, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue than Shepherds Run! We can’t wait to come back and visit.
Shepherd's Run was an absolute dream wedding venue! The venue itself is beautiful and meticulously decorated. I got so many compliments from my guests about what a gorgeous place it is. Aside from that, Jackie and Rowan are truly a dream team. They were amazing to work with and helped with every tiny detail imaginable. I also loved that they have everything you could need all in one place -- venue, guest rooms (which made getting ready the day of SO easy because we didn't have to worry about transportation), catering, alcohol, coordinators, etc. We could not have asked for a better wedding day, and Shepherd's Run played a huge part in that. Highly recommend!
Shepherds Run is the only venue I looked at and I was so in love with it I knew we had to have our wedding there and it did not disappoint. Everything about it is so stunning from the grounds to the tent to the interior. Jackie, Rowan, and the whole staff were amazing. I didn’t have a planner and I knew I was in good hands with them. They were so kind and professional and made our wedding day run so smoothly. Everything was perfect. I can’t recommend this venue enough!
I had my wedding at shepherd’s run last weekend and I can’t wait to come back. The venue itself was incredible. The hotel portion is beautifully designed, the rooms are very comfortable and chic. I loved the breakfast that comes included with the room booking, it was fresh, homemade and a perfect start to your day. Special shout-out to Aaron and Kendall who made the process so smooth. Aaron was very responsive when we had a last minute request to change a room . Kendall and the rest of the team were so welcoming day of check in and throughout the entire stay. Moving on to the wedding entire process with Jackie and Rowan, they are incredible. I was able to enjoy the wedding day and the months leading up to the event because of these two. They coordinated everything for day off and guided me through the flow of the day. They reached out to outside vendors to make sure deliveries were made on time. I can’t thank them enough!!! Not only are they pros but they are so kind and make the process such a treat. I can say without a doubt that I made the right choice in choosing shepherds run and blackstone caterers for my wedding.
We toured this venue before construction was even finished and as soon as we walked through, I knew we needed to have our wedding there. Every piece of the property is filled with so much unique and classical detail that you just walk around saying "wow" to everything you see.. even the 10th time you go. The venue itself is beyond gorgeous with multiple options for ceremony and reception areas that are equally as beautiful rain or shine. I stayed there the night before and the night of the wedding and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel staff, service and food. The wine truly is some of the best I have had & many of my guests ordered bottles/cases to take home.
The wedding itself was beyond beautiful and there really are SO many different ways to decorate and celebrate. They worked seamlessly with our other vendors and our main points of contact, Jackie Sahagian & Rowan Sanko, were so beyond easy to talk to and bounce ideas off of. I was nervous not having a wedding planner but they made it so easy for me! The girls & the venue truly want nothing more than for your day to be absolutely perfect. I would (and do, to everyone and anyone that will listen) 10000% recommend Shepherd's Run for your wedding venue!
We booked Shepherds Run after viewing all the Newport area venues on a cold, rainy day. We realized New England weather is unpredictable all times of the year and we wanted a place that was beautiful indoors and outdoors. Shepherds Run has so many great spaces for your wedding. The service you get staying on site is 10/10. Working with Jackie and Rowan was a breeze, they are pros at their job. I highly recommend booking at Shepherds Run, you will absolutely not regret it. I’m so excited to watch the space continue to develop in the years to come and can’t wait to have a special place to go back and visit.
I found Shepherd’s Run before they had even hosted a wedding, and immediately knew it was the venue for us. The venue looked like it was specifically curated to my style and after looking at almost 20 other venues- was something I could find nowhere else. When we first toured the venue with Jackie, we fell in love with not only the venue but the people. You will not find a more lovely and personable experience than at Shepherds Run. Every step of the planning process was enjoyable with the team here. We frequently visited the run leading up to the wedding to enjoy a glass of wine and look in awe, and were always recognized and welcomed as a couple getting married there!
Day of, my girls and I were able to get ready in the Manor suite there, and not only was this a gorgeous place to get ready but so convenient! It fit me and all my bridesmaids and our hair and makeup team. Jackie checked in throughout the day to make sure we had all we needed and was there to make sure everything ran smoothly.
The team is also so well connected that they had worked with many of our vendors previously, so the whole vendor team as a whole worked so well together. It's obvious that this is a gorgeous place to get married, but the people truly elevated the experience and made not only the wedding day, but the entire process, perfect!
Shepherd’s Run is absolutely everything we wished for! When we first visited Shepherd’s Run we felt the instant connection to the venue itself and their team. The Shepherd’s Run team is absolutely amazing and we cannot say enough outstanding things about Jackie , Susan, Karen and supporting Shepherd's Run team. You are in great hands as they will take care of your from start to finish and they simply just get it. They will develop a timeline, provide multiple check ins, coordinate site visits, and provide the most excellent day of wedding attention and service. We loved the variety of unique spaces. We held our ceremony in Beatrix’s garden, cocktail hour outside in the manor terrace and our reception in the beautiful event hall. The rooms onsite were a huge bonus and are stunning. The bridal suite was truly every bride’s dream. Their exclusive wine was to die for! On our wedding weekend the Shepherd’s Run team went above and beyond to make us feel like rockstars. We cannot wait to make more memories here at Shepherd’s Run with our family and friends at the winery, restaurant, hotel and spa! It will always have our hearts!
Jackie and her team are outstanding and truly run events like a well-oiled machine! They are super organized and helped the day run so smoothly. Shepherd's Run is obviously stunning and looks like something from a fairytale that has come to life, which was perfect for us operating on a budget and we didn't feel the need to go over the top on decor. Jackie and her team made us feel not only like our wedding day was so special, but also like we were the only wedding they had to work on - not an easy thing to do as I know they had back to back weddings and a fully packed wedding season! The service combined with New England charm is unmatched. Special shout out for Jackie and her girls - my dress never could have been bustled without their expertise :)
Shepherd’s Run was truly the perfect venue for our wedding. I can’t express how many guests have mentioned to my husband and I how beautiful the environment was and also super easy to navigate between our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Jackie and Rowan were absolute dreams come true. We couldn’t have asked for better people to help us wrangle our wedding, keep everything on track, and go above and beyond for us. We are truly grateful for them, and getting to have our wedding here.
Could never thank the team + Jackie more for the most beautiful day! The venue is stunning - and they have such a great group of people make their events come together. The hotel staff were also the kindest people - make our morning so easy while getting ready for the wedding. 10/10 recommend - wish we could do our day all over again!
We got married at Shepherd's Run in June of 2022. The property is just spectacular and the staff is even more special!
This is the full package wedding venue but it also felt like coming home! The hotel rooms are perfect for you and your guests to stay in. The staff could not be more kind and accommodating.
Jackie was incredible she made wedding planning so easy and helpful! I truly enjoyed every second of my wedding weekend and its definitely because of this well run venue and its people who work there!
We had our wedding at Shepherd’s Run on 7.15.22 and it was absolutely perfect. Like…nothing went wrong, our day/timeline ran smoothly, and we had the most fun we have ever had. Jackie is an actual angel and was a huge reason why we chose this venue (aside from how truly stunning it is). She’s so professional, good at her job, and genuinely fun to be around. Shepherd’s Run is GORGEOUS, and I could not imagine our wedding anywhere else. I can’t wait to come back for anniversaries, and many, MANY glasses of wine in between.
We got married at Shepherd’s Run in May of 2022. After looking at several venues from Newport to Lincoln, we found Shepherd’s Run and absolutely fell in love with it. After touring the venue and meeting with their amazing coordinator Jackie one time, we knew we found the right place and people. Every single aspect of our wedding exceeded our expectations. The venue is gorgeous and has a really unique style that we couldn’t really seem to find anywhere else. We had an Indian ceremony in the garden, followed by an American style reception and couldn’t have been happier with the way things turned out.
We really can’t say enough about their staff. Everyone that we worked with was amazing at their role and helped us in any way they could. Even a week after the wedding was over, we really wanted to stock up on the wine that we served at the wedding and Aaron went above and beyond to track down a case of the exact wine we had at our reception. The gentleman serving breakfast the morning after the wedding made the whole group feel at home.
Our coordinator Jackie deserves her own review! She made us feel like we were the only couple she was working with. Our wedding was a bit different in that we did an Indian ceremony and an American reception. This added a few unique challenges to the planning and Jackie absolutely nailed it! She knew exactly what questions to ask and helped us plan every aspect of the wedding within our budget. You will not find a better person to work with.
My daughter’s wedding was Friday, June 24, 2022. SR was fabulous from beginning to end! I can honestly say the venue exceeded our high expectations. The property is stunning. We all felt as though we had been transported to a manor in France. We reserved the bridal suite and family members stayed in the beautiful guest rooms so we all felt so at home for the wedding weekend. The garden setting for the ceremony is exquisite, cocktail hour took place on the beautiful expansive terrace and then we stepped into the gorgeous tent for dinner and dancing. There was a beautiful seamless flow to the afternoon/evening, Blackstone Catering was fantastic. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and service was great. Jackie, SR event coordinator, was totally organized and executed every detail perfectly. She was responsive throughout the planning and present the entire day assuring everything rolled out without a glitch. She even bustled the bride’s train! Thank you to the owners and staff of SR for making us feel so welcome and making our daughter’s wedding celebration nothing short of perfect!
We would highly recommend Shepherd's Run for your special day! Our wedding was in December 2021 and we were beyond thrilled with how everything came together. The venue itself is stunning but it's the people who work there that are the absolute best. Everyone involved made us feel at ease from the beginning and worked hard to assure all of the details, big and small were set in place for our wedding day. We opted for the buyout so our guests were able to enjoy all of the spaces the venue had to offer. We were so pleased with the bridal suite and all of the guest rooms as well. Each room was beautifully unique, clean, and had the most comfortable beds! Our guests also enjoyed delicious coffee and pastries from a local bakery the next morning. We can't say enough about this special place. It was the best decision we made and look forward to continuing our visits there. We hope more couples can enjoy the beauty of Shepherd's Run!
I am truly thankful my mom heard about Shepherd's Run through a friend - it was the perfect venue full of caring staff that are all on their A+ game. The facility was still being built when we had our first meeting so we had to use our imaginations to what it would look like and boy did they make a gorgeous venue. It was even more beautiful than I had imagined! A huge selling point for us was our wedding coordinator, Jackie Sahagian. Jackie is extremely organized, very friendly, and easily picks up on your wedding vision so she can help you plan it accordingly. I was pretty nervous planning the wedding and wanted to make sure I was making the right decisions for our big day and every time she relieved my stress and helped me along the way. It is clear Jackie loves her job but another key selling point for you to consider is that she will truly care about your wedding day. I never felt like just another bride with Jackie or Shepherd's Run. They always made me feel important and like they were happy to see me - during such a stressful planning period that was such a highlight. For the wedding I had a lot of decor that I brought it that I had DIYd at home. Jackie and her team set it up beautifully! One thing that sets this venue apart is that they have a closet to store your decorations so after the night is over the venue packs everything back up for you and upon checkout the next morning you can pack your car up. Not having to worry about it the night of was really nice! We got married in the Event Hall which was the old church and still has a gorgeous church vibe to it with it's high cathedral ceilings. This was a win win for us because my husband is not religious enough to get married in a church but I still felt like I got a church wedding. Being able to stay the night at the venue was also really convenient for us and our family. The rooms are gorgeous and the drip coffee in the morning was much needed. Blackstone Caterers also did an amazing job on the food - it was so nice the two companies paired together. Truly a top tier venue. Our guests had so many nice things to say about the venue and some even plan to travel back to it as a vacation spot! To Shepherd's Run, Jackie, and the team - we cannot thank you enough for making such a special day for us perfect. To any couple's considering Shepherd's Run - you cannot go wrong with this venue! They will book out fast so if your date is available - grab it!
We booked shepherd's run for our photos before the ceremony. The space is amazing, beautiful inside and out. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was so relieving to have a beautiful space for pictures with both inside and outside options.
During the chaos of covid-19, we were looking for alternatives to have an outdoor wedding. Running against timelines and vendor agreements, we were able to find a diamond in the rough. Shepherd's Run was undergoing its transformation from a non-functional boarding school to a first-class venue, winery, hotel and so much more!
From the first day we walked onto this property, we saw the vision come to life; from the fixtures in the hotel rooms to the details, decor, furnishing, and landscape. Susan, Ryan, Karen (Blackstone Caterers) and Jackie were beyond accomodating in every aspect. They make sure each detail is accounted for, that everything runs smoothly and you have an unforgettable day. When the day came for our wedding, our guests were absolutely stunned by the charm and glamor of what Shepherd's Run was all about. There is not one square foot of space on this property where details are missed. They kept the rustic character while giving it modern appeal. It was truly like no other venue we (or our guests) had gone to. My husband and his groomsmen all got ready in the spacious suite. Our first look was in the garden and our ceremony in the events hall - all beautiful settings! All other rooms were booked out for our wedding party and other family. Definitely a plus! After the ceremony, our family & friends then poured out into the terrace area for cocktail hour and then made their way down towards the tent for the reception. The way that this venue allowed the wedding to flow was very enjoyable and seamless. The tent is more than accomodating for space - we comfortably fit 200+ guests, 2 bars, 1 photobooth, an Al fresco area, a memorial table, and a huge dance floor. Being a winery, we thought it would be suiting to include a wine & letter ceremony where we locked up a bottle of SR wine to be opened on a future anniversary. We are so happy we took the chance on Shepherd's Run! They exceeded our expectations and gave us a storybook wedding that our guests continue to rave about. We cannot wait to continue making more memories at this venue - it has a special place in our hearts!
We were SO grateful to find Shepherds Run for our wedding in October 2021. Shepherd’s Run really was the venue for our full wedding weekend, including Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, Morning-after Brunch, and Lodging / Getting ready. It was perfect and our guests were just raving about every single thing.
Particular things we loved:
>> Jackie is an incredible above-and-beyond wedding coordinator, and her partnership with Karen (Owner of Blackstone), and Ryan (Owner of SR), and Susan (GM of SR), made us feel totally taken care of and supported every second of our wedding weekend. I have no doubt that our “perfect” day was made possible by a lot of invisible labor happening behind the scenes that their team just took care of. (Including little things that went a long way, like packing up our table decor/candles and helping load up my mom’s care with it in the morning - so so helpful).
>> The venue is STUNNING and flexible - we did our Rehearsal Dinner in the Wine Hall, my *twelve* bridesmaids and I got ready in the Manor Suite (and most stayed at SR that weekend, along with our parents), our first look was in Beatrix’s Garden, our ceremony was in the Event Hall (especially great if you are having a religious ceremony or want the “feel” of a church), cocktail hour was on the terrace, reception was in the tent (which is GORGEOUS, btw), and brunch the next day was back in the event hall. Each and every space felt just beautifully right for the event and mood we were going for (and the pictures speak for themselves!). The team has just done an incredible job with ALL the space(s).
>> We’re obsessed with their partnership with Blackstone - My now-husband and I are vegetarian, I’m Gluten Free, and we had a number of vegan guests at our wedding. Before finding SR/Blackstone, we had nearly ruled-out working with a “normal” catering company, because we figured it just wouldn’t work out. Boy were we wrong. The food was absolutely delicious (seriously, all the guests kept talking about it) AND they catered to all our various food-restrictions (I had *multiple* people say that it was the easiest wedding they had ever attended in terms of food availability). Unexpectedly delightful: In addition to the actual wedding food being amazing (which, it was, esp. the tofu stir fry and pumpkin ravioli) our guests LOVED (and commented on) the signature cocktails (esp. sangria and margarita), the brunch food (esp the frittata and breakfast potatoes), and the appetizers (esp the gnocchi spoons)
>> Doing our wedding at SR really felt like the perfect “one-stop-shop” that had taken care to select the best of the best —> I already mentioned the partnership with Blackstone, but there are other little things worth mentioning that make/made a big impact: The beds/linens in the SR rooms are so comfy (literally so many people commented on it), the bath was also like amazing lol (I took a bath literally the morning of my wedding), the pour-over coffee that they serve in the morning with pastries is delightful. But then also, they take care of the linen/rental partnership with Peak for you, they already have beautiful tables and chairs on-site, they figured out how to order us tent heaters. It just felt like so much was taken care of for us.
We were so grateful to have found Shepherd’s Run so early on, and recommend it for your wedding (weekend) in the future!
I got married here recently! (9/25/21) and it was the best experience!! All of our guests loved this venue and it was a great place for our wedding weekend to just relax and enjoy some amazing wine!!
Jackie was the go-to person for wedding planning and she helped make everything so smooth and seamless and stress-free on my wedding day. She and her team put everything together (ceremony site, cocktail hour site, reception site, and ALL personalized decor together) and I didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Susan was the go-to person for booking rooms at the venue. We decided to block off all of the rooms for our guests and she made the booking process very smooth. We stayed in the bridal suite which was amazing and a beautiful 2-bedroom with hangout rooms to get ready, to relax, and for the after party, and a balcony overlooking the vineyards (also a great little place to have breakfast in the morning)!
We decided to stay a night before the wedding celebrations and stayed up late at the wine bar talking with the bartender, Aaron, who was so personable and made us feel so welcome that weekend. Also, the wines are amazing - we ordered several cases for the wedding and our guests liked the Syrah and the Rose the best!
We did our ceremony in the Beatrix Gardens which was gorgeous and spacious and Jackie was great with planning the rehearsal and helping us figure out what to do and where to go for the big day. The cocktail hour was in the main gardens with a beautiful view of the estate and of the gorgeous reception tent. The reception was held under the gorgeously-done and well-lit tent, which had plenty of space for the bar, DJ, dessert/coffee/gift tables, and dance floor. There was a convenient restroom trailer next to the tent as well as other restrooms inside.
The entire place was absolutely beautiful and memorable. Some of our guests have even been back since the wedding and have been able to enjoy some delicious wines! We cannot wait to come back here to celebrate our future anniversaries! This place is up-and-coming and we cannot wait to see what it has in store for us in the future! To all covid brides - this is the place you have been searching for! The staff are super helpful and friendly and willing to make your day as special as you want it!! We loved it and highly recommend it as a wedding venue AND as a wonderful vineyard site to hang out and drink wine!
We can't say enough great things about Ryan, Susan, Jackie & the entire Shepherd's Run & Blackstone staff! We toured Shepherd's Run as a potential wedding venue while it was still heavily under renovation/ construction. Everything that they promised, they over-produced. We felt right at home here & had the most wonderful wedding at one of the most timeless spots in South County. As locals here, we were thrilled to see how this venue came to life & we are so excited to see all that it continues to become! We will most definitely be referring everyone we know to Shepherd's Run for weddings & events to come! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts; our day could not have been made more special thanks to Shepherd's Run.

Amazing wedding venue
If you are thinking about having your wedding at Shepherd's Run, don't give it another thought, just book it!!! This place is amazing. Not only are the property and the grounds spectacular, the team that you will be working with is exceptional. The entire planing process was seamless. They could not be nicer, more responsive, or more accessible. Every detail was taken care of and they went above and beyond to ensure that our daughters wedding was perfect. Did I mention that they are also super fun to work with? We felt like family and we feel like they are now part of our family too! The work that was accomplished in renovating this property is staggering. They promised the project would be completed for the wedding and they delivered and then some. The manor house is stylish, elegant and absolutely beautiful down to the smallest detail. The bridal suite is comfortable and spacious, perfect for day of preparation. The garden and the outdoor spaces could not be more beautiful. Attention is paid to every detail. The food was delicous, the waitstaff was attentive and professional, the tent is large but intimate with plenty of room fir dancing. Shepherd’s Run also has elegant spaces inside should the weather turn and you need to go to plan b. There really isn't anything that Shepherd's Run lacks. They even have AMAZING WINE! This is going to be the new "it" place to have weddings and parties. Having rooms for guests to stay in and hotels that are close by is a huge benefit. Our daughter and her husband were the first couple to have a wedding at Shepherd's Run but I have no doubt that there will be many happy marriages that begin at this magical place...with the help of the outstanding team and all the unique and elegant offerings this venue provides. We feel so blessed to have found this gem after all the craziness with Covid, having our wedding here made it all worth while!
Our experience with Shepherd’s Run could not have been better. When we first went to look at the venue it was completely under construction but we decided to take a chance because we just had a feeling about the space, the people working there and the vision behind it. We had planned and cancelled our wedding twice already (at other venues) due to covid so we were pretty burnt out on planning. Jackie made the entire planning experience a dream. She was so organized and on top of every tiny detail we really didn’t have to worry at all. She provided documents that were so helpful and thorough so we could plan and layout the ceremony procession, the decoration details, and keep the vendors organized. Jackie was always a phone call or a text away for any random question we had. She also contacted and organized all the vendors for me and even showed them around the property so they would know exactly what to expect on the day. Speaking of the day, Jackie was the contact person and organizer so I didn’t have to talk to anyone or make any decisions… it was amazing!!!
We stayed in the bridal suite from Thursday- Sunday and got ready in there with the bridesmaids on our wedding day. Susan, Ryan, Amy and Wayne (and more) made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. The room is huge and very comfortable. We didn’t think we would sleep well the night before our wedding because we were so excited but the bed was sooo cozy we had a fantastic sleep!! There are actually two rooms, two bathrooms, and essentially a little living room with a fridge- it was the perfect place to get ready. It also has a gorgeous tub and balcony to sit out on. Susan greeted us in the morning with freshly baked croissants from a local bakery, delicious coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt and freshly infused water. She also brought up Shepherd’s Run sparkly the morning of the wedding for all of us girls!!
The actually property feels like you have been transported to the south of France. Every room is decorated better than the last and there are so many comfortable places to sit and drink your coffee while looking at the gorgeous outdoor space. We got married in Beatrix Garden, which was stunning and absolutely perfect. There are outdoor and indoor spaces to use so we didn’t have to even think about the weather. The area where the cocktail hour was held was breathtaking. Our guests were able to spread out on couches, tables, Adirondack chairs, decks and a ledge with high top chairs. The beautiful decks held a bar, a raw bar and our musicians with tons of extra space for guests to mingle and relax. Everyone was commenting on how amazing it was. I had so many guests genuinely tell me it was the best wedding the had ever been to.
The tent (which is always there) was gorgeous and huge and decorated with romantic, whimsical twinkle lights. There was a huge area for the band and dancing and the tables each had plenty of space while still feeling intimate. I can’t say enough good about Shepherd’s Run and the people who run it.
The food was absolutely outstanding and we actually had our own personal server assigned to us who attended to anything we would need. Our guests commented on how delicious the food was more times than I could count. The servers were fast and the bartenders were fantastic!
Shepherd’s Run was better than we could have ever imagined it could be, and it is right in South Kingstown!
