We had our wedding at the Sheraton on 4/27/24 and Rachel and her team were
All stars! They made the planning so easy and stress free. Our guests loved staying on site at the venue! They made us feel so special on our wedding day and made our guests feel so welcome! The space was perfect and all staff were Incredible! I highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants a stress free Seacoast NH wedding!
I was married here in October 2022 and prior to my event I was so excited to get married here but after my experience I'll tell everyone I know to stay away altogether- even just to use as a regular hotel. The rooms were filthy- a dirty towel was made into a bed, hair clippings on the floor, brown stained sheets, broken glass on the floor, lipstick stained glasses, and thermostats not working and keeping the rooms below 60 in October. The biggest problem, however, was the staff. I can honestly say I've never been treated so disrespectfully in my entire life as I was by the front desk and management staff at the hotel. There was a billing issue that they were well aware of (which they admitted to us) on Thursday when we checked in. My husband, parents, and most of our bridal party were downstairs the entire day on Friday setting up for the wedding (which we’d been told would be handled by event staff), but the general manager (CJ) waited until 6pm Friday night (after our ceremony, during portraits, and while our guests were at the cocktail hour) to go to my mother and tell her that if the wedding was not immediately paid for then he would be calling the cops, kicking everyone out of the hotel, and locking people out of their rooms. My parents were not paying for any portion of our wedding and never should have been involved in this. He also asked my mom to tell us about this issue rather than coming to us himself. After making the bride and MOB cry in the lobby and having the bride and groom yelling out front of the hotel in a panic (we were never offered a more private location for this conversation and were forced to have it in full view of our guests and random hotel guests) CJ finally agreed to let us wait until the next morning to sort it out and we were nearly an hour late to our own wedding- which is an hour we paid for of our other vendors' time that we lost out on. We chose the buffet option as we were put under the impression that our guests were able to go up for seconds during dinner service but they immediately cleaned up the food as soon as the final table had been served taking a lot of the food to be thrown away- including nearly 3/4 of the prime rib. Event staff tried multiple times to clear peoples plates and glasses while they were clearly still eating and drinking. There were a multitude of problems at the front desk including the fact that they didn’t seem to know our wedding was happening there and told guests they were at the wrong location- we had to put a groomsman at the door- and with people's cards being charged multiple times or being declined despite the cards being accepted for other things and they refused to take any responsibility for the fact that it was clearly their system (we watched it happen to random hotel guests as well). One guest was forced to miss the ceremony because they told her she wasn't able to attend the wedding until her room payment was sorted out (even though most of our guests stayed offsite). Our wedding license was lost and very little care overall was put into cleaning up from our ceremony and reception. They had one bartender staffing our event bar for 100+ people which made the lines 15+ minutes at some points and the prices of drinks at the bar kept changing throughout the night. While we still managed to have a great night with our loved ones, the Sheraton and the way we were treated definitely tarnished the memories.
The entire planning experience was amazing all the way through to wedding day. The venue was in the perfect location, our suite had incredible views of the harbor, and every staff member was extremely polite and professional. Susan was amazing with helping us plan even with COVID and all of the state regulations, the night went perfectly and I cannot praise this venue and the staff enough! The wedding packages were perfect for our wedding style and the prices were some of the best in Portsmouth.
Any questions?
We picked the venue based on the incredible team that works at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel. For size and scope, we had a big NYE wedding and was planning for close to a year. My now-husband and I were blown away with the level of service, attention to detail, responsiveness, and willingness to accommodate our wishes during our entire wedding planning process. Dan Witham and his team made all of our dreams come true on our magical day. They even surprised us with special touches that we did not even think about leading up to our wedding day. Dan is a seasoned professional and such a joy to work alongside. If you are looking at venues on the Seacoast with fantastic staff, pick the Sheraton!
I have not had my wedding yet but when we met to discuss prices and talk about the venue, the woman I was helped by mentioned it was anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 JUST to rent the place. Not including anything else, I was so upset.

Thank you for your recent review. Please note that the pricing for the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel is based upon a food & beverage minimum - not a room rental charge. We also package weddings to include many additional items such as...
wedding cake, chivari wedding chairs, linens, champagne toast and dinner services. So please note that there is quite a bit of value included more than a room rental charge.
We had a great experience having our wedding at the Sheraton. Our original wedding coordinator left a few weeks prior to our wedding, but Dan stepped in and was absolutely awesome! He was quick to respond to any questions we had, and the entire weekend went smoothly with Dan and his staff's help. My wedding day was stress free and wonderful!
We just had our wedding this past weekend and used Sheraton for our room block and after party and I have to say the whole experience was really disappointing. I am definitely not a person who sweats the small stuff either.
Many of our guests had difficulty booking a room and would reach out to me saying the front desk staff wasn’t able to help them. Our families and friends apart of the room block were placed so far away from each other, if would have been nice to even just be on the same floor. My parents had requested a room with 2 beds and were only given 1 bed to sleep 3 adults. Most of the welcome bags I made did not get handed out. At our after party I mentioned it to one of my family members and they said they hadn’t received one, so I went to the front desk and I myself handed about 20 of them out at 11PM.
During our after party for about an hour there was a belligerently drink guest bothering many of our guests using very derogatory terms, carrying a boom box around, and falling into my father. I ended up having to talk to him myself and tell him how disruptive he was being where he then told me to Go away and f*** myself. The hotel staff did not step in at all.
Many of these things should have been avoided. If I could do my wedding over again the only thing I would change is the hotel we used for our room block. Very disappointing.

For the bride who doesn’t want to worry about much for her wedding day, the Sheraton Portsmouth is your venue! Katryn and her team took care of everything for us! From connecting us with our invitation vendor, to preparing all food and desserts, to setting up all our decor both inside and outside, everything we needed was taken care of and I didn’t have to stress on the best day of my life. Food was amazing, we opted for buffet, house made desserts instead of cake, and late night grilled cheese, in addition to brunch the morning of and the next day. We had an outside ceremony in their courtyard which was gorgeous, and a super fun reception in their gorgeous ballroom! Would not change a thing about our wedding at the Sheraton Portsmouth!
We could not have asked for a better experience with Katryn, our event coordinator, and her team! They went above and beyond to ensure our day was absolutely perfect. If you are considering a wedding in Portsmouth, just schedule a meeting with Katryn. You will never look back!
We are so glad that we chose to have our wedding at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel. The hotel did an amazing job from start to finish for our winter wedding in Portsmouth. We had an amazing experience working with Katryn Treamer and her team. She answered our endless questions and made us feel like we were in very capable hands! The food, the reception space, the staff, and the accommodations were all beyond belief! My husband and I were so pleased with the Sheraton and we would recommend it to any couple looking for the right reception venue.
I had high expectations for our wedding venue and I’m happy to say that the Sheraton exceeded my expectations. I worked with Katryn Treamer who was great to work with from the beginning. I had many questions for her and she was always able to answer them quickly. I really liked that the price for the venue included things that were extra at other venues, such as the cake which was amazing from Jacques, chiavari chairs (with many color options), a great room for the bridal party with food and drinks during cocktail hour, and a large 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, kitchen and fireplace comp’d for our wedding night. I was the only wedding that weekend at the hotel and I truly felt like they treated me like a princess on my wedding weekend. I was in full contact with Katryn who was just a joy to be around all weekend, smiling and taking care of anything I needed. From the front desk to the boys working the valet, service was extremely helpful and friendly. As far as the reception itself, I fell in love with the chandeliers in their ballroom. The space is just romantic and beautiful for an indoor wedding and it hit all of my checklist items. Most of our guests were able to stay over and utilize the discounted rates that the hotel offered to guests of our wedding. I had a lot of people come up to me and say that they loved being able to just walk upstairs to their room after the wedding versus worrying about getting a cab or driving home. The hotel is located within walking distance of numerous bars, restaurants, stores, etc. Our guests had a blast enjoying downtown Portsmouth. We ended up having about 175 people at our wedding and had plenty of room on the large dance floor. I did think the cocktail hour was a little bit crowded so I would say that was the only negative thing my husband and I had to say about the whole experience. Overall, we could not have been happier with our experience and venue choice and I would not change a thing if I could do it all over. We are excited to go back and stay at the hotel with a free voucher they give to the bride and groom.
We had a New Year's Eve wedding at the Sheraton and it was amazing! Everything went so smoothly and that was largely due to the amazing staff at the Sheraton. Katryn, the event coordinator, was awesome to work with! Both my husband and I are in the military, so we planned our wedding from out-of-state, and Katryn was so easy to get a hold of by phone or email whenever we had questions. She also was very accommodating to my parents and in-laws and all of their requests and surprises. Our wedding was definitely way less stressful because of her. The hotel staff was so helpful with set-up and clean up. Everything we asked for was immediately provided and they packed up all of our homemade decorations after the wedding so that all we had to do was load them in the car. The food was absolutely delicious! All of our guests raved about it, especially the prime rib that was huge and perfectly cooked. We had a lot of out-of-town guests and the hotel staff was super accommodating to all of them. Cody, the front desk manager, and Steve, the valet, made sure they were all taken care of and felt at home, just to name a few, but the entire staff was awesome! We definitely recommend taking advantage of their beautiful suites if you have lots of friends and family visiting. They’re beautiful and secluded so we felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. Lastly, Katie, one of the lobby bartenders, took the time to get to know us and our guests, which added an extra special touch. She knew what we liked and was so friendly whenever we were in the lobby to meet guests. We had a wonderful wedding and we can’t thank the Sheraton enough!
Everyone was so accommodating all weekend. One of our best decisions of the wedding was to have it at the Sheraton! They made the entire process smooth and easy - helped with SO much. Everything was set up as asked, all rooms were clean and beautiful, all food was amazing; we didn't was to leave. Thank you to you all!!
The Sheraton was a fantastic choice for our wedding!! From start to finish every detail was thought of and it was such an easy and fun process! I was planning my NH wedding from FL and Katryn made the process so easy! She was very responsive on email and answered any questions that i had. On the day of the ballroom looked amazing (newly renovated) as did the cocktail hour! They put out all the decorations i provided with thought and care. The night of Sean guided us through the evening with ease and never pressured us but just helped keep us informed of what was next to come while coordinating with our DJ and photographer. Exactly what every bride and groom would want! The honeymoon suite was fantastic as was the front desk staff and valet! I would highly recommend this venue for any bride on the seacoast!
The Sheraton was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay the weekend of our wedding + great for our guests too! Dan was so helpful securing our room block to ensure our bridal party & parents could be at the Sheraton with us to celebrate all weekend. The rooms were great, the staff was so pleasant and accommodating, and the bridal suite was HUGE and GORGEOUS. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone having a wedding in Portsmouth!
I am so thankful that we had our reception at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel. The views were fabulous, all our guests raved about how delicious the food was (especially the filet), and the staff was very accommodating throughout the night. Katryn did an incredible job at assisting me prior to the day of by responding quickly to e-mails and setting up meetings to discuss important details. I am thankful that I was able to share my special day with The Sheraton!
Katryn Treamer helped us organize every detail of our reception. The Sheraton Hotel is by far the prettiest hotel on the seacoast and holds so much meaning for us as our relationship started in Portsmouth just down the street from there and Prescott Park. During my ceremony, the hotel staff was very accommodating and gracious during our big day. We always had a fresh drink of choice in our hands (mine was a bloody mary which they put in a travel mug with a lid - perfect!) and served food smoothly and timely. They were never in the way and were just attentive enough. One of my good friends actually has decided to have his wedding there as well now!
The Sheraton was awesome! They worked so hard to make our special day everything we wanted! They went above and beyond our expectations. We had a fun and yet relaxing night, I didnt worry about anything!
We were considering having our wedding here, yet although I called them 5+ times and left messages each time, I was never called back or contacted in any way. It doesn't seem like they really value business.
Very flexible and accomodating. They try to make every request a reality. Its also great to have a venue at a location all guests can stay at!
I could not be happier with the service we received for our August 2010 wedding at the Sheraton Harborside in Portsmouth. We had both our ceremony and reception there and both were absolutely perfect. The coordinator was very flexible in working with us over the year before while we were planning. She was also there on the day of the wedding to make sure everything started on time and ran smoothly. Everything was set up exactly the way I wanted...the reception flowed quickly and smoothly without any delay in the food service. They accommodated every need that we had with extreme professionalism. The banquet staff were phenomenal. I have to complement the Banquet Captain the most (the person in charge of making sure the reception ran smoothly). She was amazing!! She catered to our every need and made certain that we did not have to think about a single thing on our wedding day. I can't say enough about the great experience that we had. If you are considering the Sheraton Harborside for your wedding/reception, I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.
Its been a full year and I still have nothing negative to say. The Sheraton was attentive, flexible, and affordable. The site was elegant and they didn't charge all the extra fees for setting up the room, opening wine, cutting the cake etc. Kara Townley was my wedding coordinator and she was amazing. The night before the wedding I stopped in to view the hall. The linens were not the color I thought they would be. I emailed Kara at 2am and she had it taken care of the next morning. As I walked out of the hotel on my way to the ceremony I said to Kara, here is the seating plan. I don't have anything to display it in please just hang in on the door. She had someone go out an buy frames to display the seating plan in. They go the extra mile because they care about your day. You can't go wrong with Kara and the Sheraton.
